Follow along, here. I haven't watched WWE regularly in YEARS. But I keep up with some of the news and the occasional PPV. So last night, I went to Raw. This is what I came up with.
I know that, with Daniel Bryan, everyone was behind him for a long time. Same as Jericho back in 2001 or so. There was a quick title win that was quickly ret-conned, Bryan winning and losing immediately afterward happened last year if I'm not mistaken. Jericho beat HHH for the title in like 2000 for a minute, only to have the ref reverse the decision. HUGE momentum for both.
Then they waited forever to capitalize, but fans still liked both performers. WWE just doesn't choose to acknowledge this, for whatever reason.
Finally, Jericho beats Rock and Austin in one night and becomes the champion. Bryan beats Batista and Orton in one match and becomes the champion. And the regalia ended there.
Shortly thereafter, Jericho was second-fiddle to a storyline between HHH and Stephanie. Bryan is now apparently wrestling in the middle of the show and cowering in fear from Kane, when the main focus is on HHH and Evolution.
So what does everyone think? Will Daniel Bryan ultimately suffer the same fate as Jericho? One huge momentous win, followed by a loss down the road and a spiral into eventual mid-card status?

He wrestled a match towards the end of RAW and had more TV time than anyone else. He also main evented WrestleMania and Extreme Rules.

I do unfortunately see Bryan being "Jerichoed", and it will be very upsetting to see them make the same mistake.

So Daniel Bryan is going to become one of the most famous wrestlers of all time? Create a Rockband, and host a show about giant fighting robots?!? Doesn't sound to bad

if Bryan's career parallel's Chris Jericho...
none of us should EVER complain
Jericho is widely considered one of the all time greatest. i'm not saying a "top 10" guy, but what I mean is that his career has seen a TON of championships, recognition in and out of the squared circle, regarded as one of the best in-ring workers of the era...etc. a lot of wrestlers would kill puppies to be able to have the kind of wrestling career Chris Jericho had/has
so in that respect, yes...I hope Bryan has a career JUST like Jericho

Except unlike Bryan, Jericho was never poised to be "the guy." A major reason for him becoming Undisputed Champion was so Triple H could have his triumphant moment of revenge at WrestleMania. Bryan is in a much better spot than Jericho ever was. Bryan is fine. He headlined three PPVs in a row, one of them being Wrestle- ing-Mania. There is no need to panic right now.

"Wrestling in the middle of the show" *main evented the last 3 ppv's* Okay You know, looking back, it's pretty wild that the WWE did place Bryan's match as the main event at ER. That goes to show that they're placing faith in his drawing ability, at least for now. That's huge for everyone that cried foul during Punk's title year where he didn't always go on last.

I love how some of you managed to misconstrue this as me complaining about anything. Observing =/= complaining.
Bryan may have had more screen time on Raw, sure. But the focus of the entire night was Shield/Evolution, with HHH making the main event with the Shield, then coming out at the end to attack. All you saying "Bryan main evented PPVs," so did Jericho when he was champion. That certainly doesn't mean he was ever looked at as the legitimate number one guy during his Undisputed title run.
For the record, Jericho's a long-time favorite of mine. If Bryan winds up with half as great a career as Jericho, he'll be doing extremely well for himself.

Bryan in in a much better position than Jericho was in 2002.
Jericho's moment of glory arrived when he beat Rock & Austin in the same night.....and it ended there too. He looked incredibly weak in his defences against Rock & Austin and when Stephanie became his manager it was truly all over.....because he was a bystander in the HHH vs Steph feud. He lost the match in a snoozer which the crowd had no interest in.....why?Because the result was so telegraphed it was unreal. Jericho was NEVER booked to be a threat to HHH.
None of this has happened thus far to Bryan......he looked GREAT @ WM and even managed to entertain against a well past it Kane @ ER.....
