Read Luger's book a few weeks ago, and man is it intense!
His career was incredible, I always admired his look and ability, and even his promos, always seemed articulate, loved how he would work the back to setup the torture rack, and man his matches with Flair were awesome. Sadly we never hear any of that when Luger is discussed, just the terribly incorrect rumors of his involvement in Elizabeth's death and domestic violence. lex covers all of that in his book and more. This is a tale of triumph, tragedy and , redemption that recommend to any wrestling fan.

Love autobiographies from wrestlers. Hope I have the extra cash to grab this soon.

I'm not one to sit down and read a book, but I'm a huge fan of Lex Luger. Still to this day I don't understand the hate that he gets. Sure he was no Lou Thesz, but very few are. I may have to check this one out. Thanks.

I love Luger. One of the most underutilized talents of all time.
His Narcissist persona is one of my all time favorite gimmicks, and he played it so well. I so wish he'd been kept as a heel to chase Bret for the title throughout 93-94. Yokozuna never really put on good matches.
I think Luger is a lot of the reason why I love the WM9 PPV.

It is a good read. I never really understood the hate he got, either. It's not like he believed himself to be the best anyway. He says in his book many times that other wrestlers made him look better than he was.

I always like Lex, he never was the best wrestler, promo cutter or whatever but he had great appeal in the 90s

Probably start on this when I've finished the RAW series(love those books & the WWF Video guide books).

I read it a while ago and agree with others. Definitely worth a look.
The sections where he talks about what happened with Elizabeth and all of the turmoil of his own downward spiral during that time are great. Not sure if its 100% accurate (hey, when a guy's telling you how out-of-his-mind wasted he used to get, you tend to question his ability to recall event). But I do believe he was being honest, whether his memory is flawed or not.

thanks for the heads-up june. Now that's two books on my reading list - Lex's and hardcore Holly's, also supposed to be a great read.
