MARCH 14, 2004 - WHERE IT ALL BEGAN AGAIN It was an extraordinary evening, as over 18,000 excited fans from places all over the world gathered into the tightly-packed Madison Square Garden on March 14. On March 14, 2004, World Wrestling Entertainment celebrated the 20th anniversary of their grandest spectacular in professional wrestling, WrestleMania. WrestleMania, born on March 31, 1985 was also shown from Madison Square Garden in New York City. It featured pop culture superstars such as Mr T, Cyndi Lauper, Muhammad Ali and Liberace. After witnessing Hulk Hogan and Mr T reign victorious against "Mr Wonderful" Paul Orndorff and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper on that faithful night in 1985, it wouldn't be for another nine years until WrestleMania once again arrived in the world's most famous arena, as WrestleMania X emanated from Madison Square Garden on March 20, 1994. Featuring the stars of the New Generation, the (then) World Wrestling Federation shone as it displayed nine fantastic matches, with two of them being critically acclaimed as being matches of the year candidates - on one end, the "Hitman", Bret Hart battling his younger brother Owen Hart, a match filled with 20 minutes of amazing technical wrestling abilities - in contrast to later that night, when the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and "The Bad Guy" Razor Ramon battled it out in a ladder match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship - an incredible showcase of self-sacrifice and suspension of disbelief.
Ten years later, on March 14, 2004, we witnessed WrestleMania XX return to the legendary venue. In the two of the biggest highlights on the show, two long-time underrated performers in the business, and often considered the best wrestlers to enter the professional sport, Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero managed to accomplish their big moment when Eddie retained his WWE Championship, whilst Chris Benoit won his first World Heavyweight Championship - in the main event of the show, no less. After a gruelling half-hour battle with Shawn Michaels and Triple H, Benoit had risen to victory in an unexpected motive. Benoit clutched the World title firmly in his hands as the arena was showered in confetti, a new star made on the grandest stage of them all. However, it was given a more emotional touch, as his longtime best friend and fellow World Champion, Eddie Guerrero came out and the two embraced in a tearful hug, center-stage. Eddie had also endured a hard-fought 20 minute fight with former Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle, in another technical display of warfare between two solid performers, however in the end it was Guerrero who outsmarted Angle and walked away with victory, despite missing one of his boots. These two all-star talents, Benoit and Guerrero will now lead the WWE into a new era, the era where it all begins again.
In other news from the big event, two other big superstars from the WWE tussled it out in a match that was insulted by fans everywhere - the match between former WCW Champion Bill Goldberg and the fast rising star, Brock Lesnar. A suspected clash of the titans, the two could not sustain the chemistry to put on a fantastic display, and with both men on their way out of the company, it was obvious that the fans in attendance had some sort of idea about it. After Goldberg finally put Lesnar away in the closing moments of the match, special referee and 1990s hit icon Stone Cold Steve Austin celebrated with Goldberg, until giving him and Lesnar a Stunner as a farewell present. Elsewhere, the Undertaker made his grand return to the WWE after a four month absence, but also after a five year absence in his 'Deadman' persona. Last being seen at November's Survivor Series, the former biker was buried alive by his brother, Kane - that being until the Undertaker returned last night, accompanied by his longtime friend and manager, Paul Bearer - garnished in black, the Undertaker managed to defeat his brother Kane once and for all. It could be a dark day for the superstars of the WWE now that the "Phenom" has returned.
Also on the card, John Cena made a big WrestleMania debut, as in his first major stage appearance, Cena kicked off the blockbuster show and defeated the Big Show to win his first championship in the company, the WWE United States Championship gold. Christian and Chris Jericho settled their love triangle with Trish Stratus with a shocking turn of events, as Trish betrayed Jericho and joined with Christian. Also in attendance was Hollywood action star The Rock, who teamed up with Mick Foley to reunite the Rock 'n' Sock Connection - but unfortunately they were made to perish courtesy of Evolution members, Randy Orton, Ric Flair and Batista.

| WWE Monday Night RAW - Monday 15th March 2004 | East Rutherford, NJ - Continental Airlines Arena |
Segment | Description | Time | 1 | A video package aired, reviewing several key moments of last night's spectacular that was WrestleMania XX. It featured highlights from Evolution overcoming the Rock 'n' Sock Connection in a hard-fought handicap match; as well as Trish Stratus turning on Chris Jericho to side with his ex-best friend Christian; and of course, Chris Benoit overcame all odds when he defeated Triple H to win the World Heavyweight Championship. The opening video package for Monday Night RAW aired, before cutting to the Continental Airlines Arena; pyrotechnics going off, and the fans cheering for the fallout of WrestleMania XX! Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler talked through the fallout of WrestleMania among the loud ovation from the energetic fans, as they promoted the WWE Intercontinental Championship being on the line; the "Legend Killer" Randy Orton defends against one-half of the World Tag Team Champions, Booker T tonight! | 21:02 | 2 | The theme of Evolution kicked off a hot crowd, as the applause of the fans suddenly turned to boos upon the arrival of the four members of Evolution. Clad in suits, Triple H led the way, not particularly looking very impressed with what occurred last night. "The Game" walked with a purpose as Ric Flair, Batista and Randy Orton followed suit, as Flair received several 'woos' on his way down to the ring. Triple H immediately got on the microphone, as he received chants of "You tapped out!" from the seventeen thousand strong in East Rutherford. Triple H was aggravated, as he told the fans that he did not tap out, that he should still be standing here as the World Heavyweight Champion, and nothing bad could have happened! The crowd booed as he talked about how united Evolution do not fall, which is why two of the biggest names in WWE history fell to Batista, Randy Orton and Ric Flair last night! The crowd booed suddenly, as Triple H continued, talking about how the Rock and Mick Foley could not handle the excellence that was Evolution - and he's sure that if he wasn't outnumbered by Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit, he'd still be the man on top of the mountain! Randy Orton then took the microphone, as he talked about how nobody seems to realise how big a hero Triple H was last night, how much of a fighter he is for stepping toe-to-toe with two guys that hate his guts, and how he took Benoit and Michaels to the limit to the point that he couldn't fight much longer! Orton talked about how Evolution should still be holding all of the gold, and now even the tides have changed and he has to put the Intercontinental Championship on the line tonight against Booker T, Orton asking how that's fair. Orton continued, talking about how there is a conspiracy against Evolution, and he can't stand religion very much either.
With that, the theme of Chris Benoit hit to loud cheers, as the "Rabid Wolverine" made his way out to the ring, Benoit with the World title on his shoulder and a big smirk on his face. Benoit had a microphone, as he began to joke about how Triple H was meant to be such a tough, suck-it-up badass about a week ago, and just because he lost to him, here he is sulking around about it! Benoit told Hunter to suck it up, because now that the title is around his waist, there is no losing it for him! Benoit told Hunter how he fought skin-and-bone for this moment, to hold the big one, and now that he has won the big one - he will not relinquish it for anybody. He told Triple H how he went through hell to get where he is - year after year of close calls to winning the World Championship, sixty minutes in the Royal Rumble, and one hell of a tough battle last night at WrestleMania. Benoit told Triple H to suck it up and do something about it instead of whining about it. Triple H was heated, as he challenged Benoit to walk down to the ring right now, to which Benoit actually nodded his head! With that, the World Tag Team Champions, Rob Van Dam and Booker T made their way out to the rampway, and followed Benoit to the ring! Evolution did not seem impressed, as Benoit, Van Dam and Booker climbed into the ring simultaneously - to which Evolution suddenly decided to leave!
The crowd booed, as Triple H told Benoit that he changed his mind, telling the trio that they were just going to chill in the back and not waste their time any longer. However as Evolution reached the rampway, the theme of Eric Bischoff hit to boos, and out came Bischoff, a big grin on his face. He talked about how he knew that something like this would happen - and he loves it! Which is why tonight, the WWE Intercontinental Championship match that he assigned for tonight will be post-poned, because instead we will be seeing a six-man tag team match featuring Triple H, Ric Flair and Batista against Chris Benoit, Rob Van Dam and Booker T! Bischoff told them to have fun with it, because it will do dynamite business! The crowd cheered, as Bischoff left; Evolution looking rather hesitant to this announcement. | 21:11 |
| Commercial Break | 21:14 | 4 | A "Moments Ago" vignette aired, reviewing the opening segment with the announcement of tonight's main event made by Eric Bischoff, with Evolution scheduled to take on Chris Benoit, Rob Van Dam and Booker T in six-man tag team action. Following this, we cut to Eric Bischoff talking to his assistant Johnny Spade, who was brown-nosing Bischoff for his decision moments ago. Suddenly, Randy Orton appeared, as the "Legend Killer" told Eric that he appreciated giving him the night off to rest after beating up that washed-up loser, Mick Foley last night. However, he isn't too pleased about his friends in Evolution having to compete a second night tonight. The RAW General Manager cut him off, Eric telling Randy that it sounds like an excellent idea, and it is definitely going to happen - and for Randy's information, he's not having a night off - he's going one-on-one tonight against Chris Jericho! The fans cheered, as Orton seemed frustrated, but shrugged it off and walked away. | 21:15 | 5 | Women's Champion Victoria & LIta def. Molly Holly & Jazz (w/Theodore Long) [04:24] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath]
Last night we witnessed one Diva successfully defending the WWE Women's Championship and one Diva being shaved bald live on pay-per-view! Tonight on RAW, Molly Holly, wearing a brown-haired wig like the hair she used to sport until last night, teamed up with Jazz to seek revenge against Victoria and Lita. Victoria and Lita worked effectively as a tag team, as Jazz was the recipient of several double-team moves from the pair. Molly didn't even allow herself to get tagged in, instead trying to hide from the ring apron whenever Jazz came close - perhaps in fear of losing her very obvious wig. Victoria and Lita continued to work effectively, as Molly was finally tagged in blindly, and she was dragged into the ring! Victoria picked her up and gave the former Women's Champion the Widow's Peak, before tagging in Lita, who came off of the top rope with the Moonsault, giving the Divas the victory!
Theodore Long was livid at ringside, as Jazz stood up at ringside and left with him, as Lita and Victoria's hands were raised in victory. The fans cheered loudly, accepting Victoria as the Women's Champion before the two attended to Molly by...removing her wig! Molly started regaining consciousness, and as he sat up and felt her head, she began to freak! Molly quickly rolled out of the ring and rushed up the aisleway covering her bald head, as Victoria celebrated with the Women's title in one hand and the wig of Molly's in the other! | 21:22 | 6 | In the backstage area, Todd Grisham was standing by with Chris Jericho, as Grisham told Jericho about how he understands why he is angry after last night, where he was betrayed by Trish Stratus - but tonight he has an opportunity to gain a second wind when he takes on Randy Orton. Y2J talked about how he does feel betrayed, because in one month he has gone from being best friends with Christian, and being in a promising relationship with Trish Stratus to losing to Christian at WrestleMania XX, and losing Trish to the infamous Creepy Little B*astard! The fans cheered, as Jericho talked about how he's not upset because he was screwed, but because he should have known better - because now he sees Trish as being nothing more than a big sl*t! The fans cheered loudly, as Jericho talked about how he plans to get revenge on both of them, but tonight he will do what Todd said and get the job done, by defeating the so-called "Legend Killer" one, two, three! The fans cheered as Y2J left to prepare.
| 21:23 |
| Commercial Break | 21:26 | 7 | We returned to Monday Night RAW, where the Jonathan Coachman was standing by with the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. The Coach tried to demotivate Shawn by asking how disappointed he is to not be standing here as World Heavyweight Champion tonight. Shawn told Coach that he sees what he's doing, but honestly, he gave it his best shot, and it wasn't enough. Which is why he will obtain another shot at the belt now around the waist of the "Rabid Wolverine" Chris Benoit, and he will walk up to him and knock the rest of his teeth down his throat - because he wants that title. Michaels walked off, showing a different, more intense attitude tonight after losing last night at WrestleMania. | 21:27 | 8 | Rico (w/Miss Jackie) vs Val Venis (w/Stacy Keibler); no contest [01:48] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] Miss Jackie seemed unhappy after how last night turned out, where she was humiliated by SmackDown!'s Playboy covergirls Torrie Wilson and Sable during their Evening Gown tag team match - when she was stripped from her gown and forced to compete in her underwear. Evidently, Jackie and her partner last night Stacy Keibler had a fallout, leading to this match - the two of them separated by men of their choice - Jackie's man of course being Rico, whilst Val Venis represented Stacy. The "Big Valbowski" brought the fight to extremely camp Rico, but Rico used his artistic array of kicks to keep in the driver's seat. The two of them continued to fight it out, as Jackie and Stacy suddenly got into it at ringside, bringing fans to their feet! All of a sudden, flames hit the stage, and the theme of Kane hit!
"The Big Red Monster" stormed down to the ring to boos, as Kane made his way down to the ring and climbed inside. During Kane's entrance, Venis was distracted by Kane's arrival, leading to Rico giving Venis a big Roundhouse Kick before bailing! A groggy Venis slowly got back to his feet, as Rico and Miss Jackie fled up the rampway - Kane grabbing Venis by the throat and planting him with a big Chokeslam! Kane was understandably furious about losing to his returning brother, the Undertaker last night at WrestleMania, as Kane then decided to grab Val by the throat again, and he planted him with a second Chokeslam! As this was going on, Stacy Keibler was down at ringside, seemingly in pain over her ankle, when Kane saw her, a sadistic grin appearing on his face. Kane rolled out of the ring and grabbed Stacy by the hair, before picking her up and graping her over his shoulder, strangely walking away with Stacy kicking and screaming! J.R. and the King had no idea what to make of this whole situation, as Val remained unconscious in the ring. | 21:31 | 9 | An advertisement aired, promoting the encore presentation of WrestleMania XX. | 21:32 | 10 | In the backstage area, we saw Kane with Stacy Keibler kicking and screaming over his shoulder, as the "Big Red Monster" was seemingly enraged by what transpired last night at WrestleMania, Kane being defeated by his brother the Undertaker. Kane then dropped Stacy onto a box and placed his gloved hand around the throat of Stacy Keibler, holding her up against a wall. Kane told Stacy with his jet black stare that he was not happy, because of last night. Kane talked about how furious he was that he was defeated by the Undertaker, his brother because he just wouldn't go away. Kane told Stacy that he's decided that he's going to take it out on anybody that stands in his way. Stacy continued to gasp for air and screamed, as Kane warned her that he wouldn't tolerate this from her - because he's sick and tired of everything, and he saw Stacy last night - which is why he wants to bring her into his world. Kane told Stacy that tonight we'd be seeing a whole new side of Stacy - and Kane. Kane laughed maliciously, as Kane then picked Stacy back up and draped her over her shoulder, carrying her away down the hallway! | 21:34 |
| Commercial Break | 21:37 | 11 | We returned to Monday Night RAW with a "Moments Ago" vignette, showing Kane disrupting a match between Rico and Val Venis, where the "Big Red Monster" completely obliterated the "Big Valbowski" before grabbing a defenseless, injured Stacy Keibler and kidnapping her - before choking her up against the wall and telling her that tonight we'd be seeing a whole new side to Stacy Keibler - and Kane himself. From there, we saw Eric Bischoff in his office with Johnny Spade, as Eric was on the phone to someone that seemed disgruntled. Eric told them that he didn't know what he was going to do, because nobody can really stop Kane, and nobody knows what he is capable of. Bischoff said that he will try to handle the situation, but he sure as hell can't promise anything. Bischoff abruptly hung up, palming his face deep into his hands. | 21:38 | 12 | The Dudley Boyz (w/Spike Dudley) def. La Resistance (w/Rene Dupree) [07:39] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath]
The crowd were loud for D-Von and Bubba Ray Dudley, as they were accompanied as always by their little brother, Spike. The trio of the Dudleys seemed ready to get it on one more time with their on-and-off rivals in La Resistance, Rene Dupree and the returning from injury, Sylvain Grenier. With Rene Dupree in their corner, this match was ready to get underway, as Bubba and D-Von immediately targeted the returning Sylvain whilst Rene watched on. D-Von and Bubba double-teamed Sylvain for several minutes before Grenier started to play tactically, fighting back against D-Von and taking him down hard with a huge facebuster. Conway and Grenier gloated, as Jim Ross noted how these two teams unsuccessfully contended for the World Tag Team Championships last night to no prevail. Bubba tried to get the fans worked up for a tag from D-Von, but La Resistance masterfully manipulated D-Von and continued to work away at him. However finally, D-Von fired back with a double clothesline, and the tag was made to Bubba! Bubba pounded away at both Sylvain and Rob, before even axe handling Rene Dupree off the apron! D-Von and Bubba quickly got into position, and just like that the 3D connected on Conway, giving America the win!
The fans in attendance cheered as the Dudley Boyz celebrated their win, a victory to avenge their loss from last night at WrestleMania XX - but you had to imagine that D-Von and Bubba Ray were still gunning for tag team gold. Meanwhile, Sylvain Grenier and Rob Conway were seemingly having problems at ringside, as Rene Dupree continuously tried to get in the middle of them and restore order! All was not well in La Resistance. | 21:48 | 13 | We cut to the backstage area, where Christian and Trish Stratus were shown arriving at the building, discussing how they made a complete fool out of Chris Jericho last night. Trish talked about how much of an idiot Chris is, and how she's so happy that she chose the right guy in the end. The two then exchanged a kiss, before continuing en route to the arena. Meanwhile, in two different areas we see Randy Orton, the WWE Intercontinental Champion and Chris Jericho making their way down separate corridors - Orton and Jericho go at it next, but what about Christian and Trish Stratus!? | 21:49 |
| Commercial Break | 21:53 | 14 | Chris Jericho def. Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton by disqualification [14:12 - exceeded one commercial break] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] Y2J was all upset and bent out of shape about losing to his former best friend and losing his girlfriend in one night, and he had no idea that Christian and Trish Stratus had just arrived in time for this match with the "Legend Killer" Randy Orton. Orton was upset about having to compete tonight after falsely assuming he had the night off, but on the other hand Orton was confident due to defeating Mick Foley last night in the climax of a hot, three-on-two handicap match alongside Evolution against the Rock 'n' Sock Connection. Jericho started off full of steam, Y2J pounding away at Orton and trying to end the match quickly, but Orton was fast with his thinking and cut Y2J off as he attempted to lock in the Walls of Jericho. Orton began to work away at the neck of Jericho, an inverted neckbreaker connecting just when Y2J was trying to regain momentum, the "Legend Killer" trying to divide the functions of Jericho and cut him down limb from limb. Orton made one mistake however, and that was trying to go up top because Jericho suddenly caught Orton with a big step-up enzuigiri, sending Orton flying to the outside! Jericho then followed up with a plancha, the fire of Y2J coming to life as Jericho sent Orton into the barricade and continued to pound away at the Intercontinental Champion - when suddenly Christian appeared behind Y2J, planting him with an Unprettier on the floor! The crowd booed as referee Jack Doan had no choice but to call for the bell!
The crowd booed loudly as Randy Orton wisely decided to slip away, the "Legend Killer" escaping the scene as Christian stood with a smirk on his face, "Captain Charisma" then being joined at ringside by Trish Stratus who "heroically" ran down the rampway! The fans booed at this mockery, as Trish approached Christian and slapped him in slow motion, before kissing Christian dramatically! The fans booed as Y2J was left face down on the floor, whilst Christian was standing tall in dominance, and with the girl of Jericho's dreams. | 22:10 |
| Commercial Break | 22:13 | 15 | Back from the break, Christian and Trish Stratus were shown making their way through the corridors, the two once again discussing how foolish Chris Jericho has been. Christian commented on how great it was to give him that Unprettier, all of those times Y2J has tried to be the better man. Trish told Christian that she loved him all along, to which Christian took her and swept her off her feet with a big kiss. The crowd booed loudly, when La Resistance were heard. The camera cut to Rene Dupree trying to be the peacemaker between Sylvain Grenier and Rob Conway, who were arguing about who the weak link of their team was. Grenier commented on how he spent so long away due to injury and suddenly he gets blamed for causing a loss for them - when La Resistance have been losing matches left, right and centre for so long. Conway tried to justify, but that's when Rene told the two to stop their whining and face the facts - they suck completely. The fans applauded Dupree for his honesty, before Rene told the two confidently that he has an idea that will turn La Resistance around completely and bring them back to the World Tag Team Championships. Dupree then walked away, as Sylvain and Rob seemed completely intrigued by whatever Rene was thinking. | 22:15 | 16 | Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler were shown on commentary again, as they discussed what had occurred so far tonight on RAW, how we still have a huge six-man tag team match scheduled for later tonight, how Kane has kidnapped Stacy Keibler, and how we've seen further dissension between Christian and Chris Jericho. They then went back to last night at WrestleMania XX, reviewing several notes from last night's event with accompanying stills. They discussed the SmackDown! side of the show, which featured one hell of a match between Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero for the WWE Championship, and the return of the Undertaker as he defeated his brother Kane after a four month absence. J.R. hyped up this Thursday night's edition of SmackDown! | 22:16 | 17 | Suddenly, the theme of Mr McMahon hit to a big ovation! The Chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment made his way out to the Continental Airlines Arena, as he walked with his typical stride, Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler talking about how this was not on the agenda! Vince McMahon came out to the ring as the fans chanted his name, admiring the emperor that gave us this company. Vince asked the fans in East Rutherford how WrestleMania was, to which he received a positive ovation. McMahon continued, discussing how he knows how much of a fantastic show it was, because it didn't focus on the stars of yesterday, like Bill Goldberg, or Brock Lesnar per se - but what it did focus on was the future. Because it's all about building the future in the WWE. Vince talked about how the slogan for WrestleMania XX was that it would be where it all begins again - and now, it's going to be true. McMahon said that he decided not to tell anybody that he would be here tonight, but instead an added bonus and a huge shocker, next week's RAW will be the beginning of the future: because next Monday night, we would bare witness to the WWE Draft Lottery! Vince spoke out about how anything can happen, and it most certainly will next Monday night because the stars of SmackDown! will be here, and we will see what happens when the General Manager of RAW, Eric Bischoff - and the General Manager of SmackDown!, Paul Heyman draw superstars names from a lottery bowl - because anybody is eligible to be drafted. McMahon stated how WrestleMania was about where it all began again, and next Monday night on RAW, we'd see it all begin again - again! The fans applaused the announcement as McMahon left, Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler left to discuss what could happen. | 22:22 | 18 | An advertisement aired, promoting WWE SmackDown! this Thursday night, where we will see the events following WrestleMania XX unfold! SmackDown! airs Thursday night from 8/7 CT on UPN. | 22:23 |
| Commercial Break | 22:26 | 19 | We returned to Monday Night RAW as the members of Evolution were shown preparing for their six-man tag team main event later on, Triple H brandishing his hands in tape and congratulating Randy Orton on another night of success. Orton told Hunter that he wasn't done yet, because he may have humiliated Mick Foley last night at WrestleMania - but it won't be as big as it will be next week on RAW, because the "Legend Killer" is extending an invitation for the measly "Hardcore Legend" to show his face. Ric Flair then chimed in, the "Nature Boy" telling Triple H that he can feel defeated because he lost the World Heavyweight Championship - but that he needs to remember that he was the World Champion sixteen times. Flair told Hunter that it would never be over, and when Triple H cashed in on his rematch clause, he's sure that it would go Evolution's way. Batista then told Evolution that tonight is the start of the next chapter, because they had the gold once, they had the power once - and tonight begins pursuing the power one more time. Evolution continued to prepare, the six-man tag team match coming up. | 22:28 | 20 | Garrison Cade & Mark Jindrak def. The Hurricane & Rosey [03:40] [+00:02 for entrances] Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak have been impressive since arriving on the RAW brand, making a dent in the tag team division and showing off their desires for the World Tag Team Championships; unfortunately last night they were unsuccessful in that pursuit in the four-team tag team match - and tonight they had to start from the bottom again, in action against the Hurricane and the "Super Hero In Training" Rosey, who were left off of the card last night. Hurricane and Rosey teamed up on Jindrak in the early goings, but Cade used his speed to catch Hurricane off-guard, and it worked to his advantage, as Jindrak and Cade went straight to work on the neck of Hurricane. After some double-team moves, Hurricane got the hot tag to Rosey allowing Rosey to clean house, as Hurricane slowly got back into the swing of things as well - unfortunately that stopped as Cade and Jindrak hit a High-Low style combination move sending Rosey down, rolling him for the win.
The crowd booed as Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak celebrated their win and flaunted it, this rookie tag team continuing to impress in dominating fashion, creating the assumption that one day we could see Cade and Jindrak as World Tag Team Champions. | 22:33 | 21 | In the backstage area, Todd Grisham was standing by with the World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit, and the World Tag Team Champions Booker T and Rob Van Dam. Grisham asked Benoit what it felt to be the new World Champion after an eighteen year-long pursuit of the gold. Benoit talked about how he's incredibly happy to finally be at this point, to be the man on top of the mountain - however that does not change the fact that he now has a target on his back, and no matter how big that target is, he will always be the man to continue to fight until he has nothing left. Whether it be Triple H, Batista, Ric Flair or Randy Orton that wants to challenge him, it doesn't matter - what matters is that Benoit will be ready to fight to survive, and fight until the very end. Rob Van Dam then talked about how Benoit is the man on top of the mountain, and even though that one day they could fight and have a damn hard-fought battle, him and Booker T want to continue to keep that World title away from Evolution. Booker T then commented on how they got involved because they oppose everything Evolution stands for, and they are standing together as a unity to keep Evolution separated, and tonight is no exception! Benoit talked about how they are all here to stay, how they represent what the future means for the WWE - and that future does not include Evolution! The trio then left, the main event up next! | 22:35 |
| Commercial Break | 22:38 | 22 | World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit and World Tag Team Champions Booker T & Rob Van Dam def. Evolution (Triple H, Batista & Ric Flair) [15:00 - exceeded one commercial break] [+00:04 for entrances; +00:02 for aftermath] This was expected to be a true barnburner, after the events of the last couple of months between Booker T and Rob Van Dam in their battle against Batista and Ric Flair; as well as the business between Booker T and Triple H, Chris Benoit and Triple H and Rob Van Dam and Triple H. Everybody with business with one another, heightened by the war over the World Heavyweight Championship between Evolution and Chris Benoit, who won the gold last night and accomplished his lifelong journey. The champions dominated in the opening moments, clearing house of Evolution antagonizing the faction further, capped off with a plancha from RVD and a suicide dive by the "Rabid Wolverine", as Benoit was here to prove that he was here to stay. The "Animal" Batista was the deciding factor however, as he cut Booker T off with a stiff clothesline, and that's when the antics of Evolution began to set in, with Triple H and the sly techniques of the "Nature Boy" coming into play, further isolating Booker T further and keeping him away from Rob Van Dam. The "Cerebral Assassin" worked away at the shoulder of Booker, as Batista dominated the World Tag Team Champion. Coming back from the commercial, Booker had finally picked up some momentum, as he caught Flair with an axe kick and finally made the tag to "Mr Monday Night", RVD catching on like a house on fire to anybody that entered it, Van Dam with spinkicks flying everywhere - until Van Dam got cut off by the running high knee of Triple H! The former World Heavyweight Champion worked away at Van Dam, isolating yet another member of the trio of champions, and Chris Benoit was getting restless on the apron. After several minutes of Ric Flair working away at the leg of RVD, the "Nature Boy" tried to lock in the Figure-Four Leglock - just for RVD to cradle out of it and then catch Flair with the Van Daminator! Van Dam was weary, but finally he got the tag to the "Rabid Wolverine"! Benoit darted in and cleared house, a German suplex for Batista and a big suicide dive to the "Game"! RVD and Booker then got into it with Triple H and Batista at ringside, as Flair tried to rake the eyes of Benoit just for the new champion to duck it, and he locked in the Crossface, making Flair tap! ***1/4
The fans cheered as Chris Benoit relinquished the Crossface on Ric Flair and had his hand raised in victory, the World Heavyweight Champion victorious again tonight - until Triple H cut him off, clotheslining him from behind! The crowd turned to boos, as Triple H pounded away at Benoit, Batista meanwhile giving Booker T a vicious spinebuster on the floor at ringside; Rob Van Dam laid out on the rampway. The members of Evolution got into the ring, as Benoit tried to fight off Hunter by pulling him in for a Crossface when Batista and Hunter intercepted. Randy Orton ran down to the ring to join in, the Intercontinental Champion getting involved in the beatdown of the new World Champion! The crowd booed as the "Legend Killer" laid out the new legend Benoit with a harsh RKO, which was followed by Batista setting up for the sit-out Powerbomb - but suddenly the theme of Shawn Michaels hit! The "Heartbreak Kid" ran down to the ring to a massive ovation, having finally showed up after being absent tonight, Michaels with a chair in hand, as he nailed Flair with the steel chair, the rest of Evolution bailing! Evolution headed up the rampway as Shawn aided to the weakened Benoit, as Benoit had just been given a lesson in what it feels like to be a champion and have a target on his back - but Benoit kept fighting until the very end. With a fierce face off from Shawn, Benoit, Booker and RVD in the ring & Evolution on the rampway, RAW went off the air. | 22:59 |

Honestly, I wanted to make a diary of this myself, but I'm happy with my WWF 1994 Diary, i hope your WWF 1996 returns too, but you should stick with this cause this is my favorite year, but anyway nice segment with Evolution, Chris Benoit, Booker T and Rob Van Dam, and what better way to have a six-man tag team match. Orton gets a match with Jericho too, Nice win for Victoria and Lita against Molly Holly and Jazz. What's up with Kane, kidnapping Stacy Keibler and attacking Val Venis. Kane has a definite problem since losing to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 20. Nice victory for The Dudley Boys over La Resistance, Jericho and Orton put on a great match had it not been for Christian. Hoping to see a Jericho/Christian match in the near future once again, Vince Mcmahon adding the draft lottery back, i wanna see who goes to SMACKDOWN and who goes to RAW, personally, I'd like to see championships on RAW and SMACKDOWN, for RAW, I'd like to see John Cena, Big Show, Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Edge, and for SMACKDOWN, I'd like to see Triple H, Christian, Chris Jericho and others from RAW as well. Great win for Jindrak and Cade against Hurricane and Rosey. And to top it off with a Six-Man Tag Team Match with Benoit, Booker and RVD standing tall, I'd like to see a Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Title at Backlash like in real life, I'd also like to see Bret Hart in Chris Benoit's corner too. Anything can happen, but great RAW show, I hope you can keep up with this diary.

Alright, lets go with Raw! A good opening promo, albeit I'd rather see Chris Benoit open the show up. It did set the stage for the main event and altered the Intercontinental Championship match. Decent divas contest to open up the action for tonight with Victoria and Lita winning over Baldy Holly. I mean, Molly Holly, and Jazz. Nothing major really for me to see here except for Molly being embarrassed with the wig removal. Yeah, Coach, don't try and demoralize the Heart Break Kid you sunummagun. Rico vs Val Venis, I was worried this was just something pointless but the arrival of Kane! BAH GAWD, ITS KANE! BAH GAWD! Kidnapping Stacy Keibler? What the hell? Hopefully he doesn't Katie Vick her. Interested to see what you do with the two of them. Freaky deaky Kane is actually freaky deaky. The Dudley Boyz beating La Resistance is fine. I miss both of those teams. They were both, in the words of a-Borat, very nice. Chris Jericho winning via disqualification comes as no surprise with Christian getting involved. Doesn't damage Orton and continues the feud between Christian and Jericho properly. I wonder what Rene Dupree's dea is for becoming better. La Resistance does not suck, damn it! Ah, the Draft Lottery in its wee day! Ten years ago already in reality. Seems wild. Looking forward to what you do with it, however. Cade and Jindrak beating Hurricane and Rosey is fine by me, I feel like they were an undervalued team. Although I don't see them winning the World Tag Team Titles down the road, I hope they stick around for a while. Finally, the main event. Chris Benoit, Booker T and Rob Van Dam defeating Evolution was the best decision coming off of Benoit's World Title win last night and it gives him credibility on Raw. Ric Flair tapping was also the best choice, as it doesn't really matter what happens to him as he is Ric Flair no matter what. Shawn Michaels taking out Evolution along with the other three was fine, although I could of been for him possibly taking out Benoit as well. A good post-WrestleMania show overall, sir.

Alright, 2004! I tried to this time period one time.....tried. Anywho, great way to kick off the show with Evolution following a partially successful evening at WrestleMania for the faction. Randy Orton defending the Intercontinetnal Championship against Booker T later tonight should be a good one. Expected involvement from the new World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Benoit, though him having to interrupt Evolution seemed odd. Maybe the positions should have been swapped. I liked Rob Van Dam and Booker T joining Benoit in what was almost an altercation with Evolution. Alright, then. Guess there is no Intercontinental Championship match tonight, but I do love the Six Man Tag that was announced by Eric Bischoff. That will be a hot main event for the post-'Mania show. Orton going one on one with Chris Jericho, another solid match made by Bischoff. I will say that I could have done without Orton versus Booker being announced in the opening segment since ultimately, they will not even be competing in the same match later. A solid Divas match to kick off the action portion off the show. A good victory for Lita and the Women's Champion, Victoria. Enjoyable aftermath with Molly Holly's absurd wig being removed. Poor Chris Jericho. I absolutely loved the swerve at WrestleMania, though, so I am interested in seeing where you take his rivalry with Christian and Trish Stratus going forward. I wouldn't mind seeing Shawn Michaels make the transition from tweener to heel by the end of the three-way feud with Triple H and Chris Benoit. Rico versus Val Venis....never mind that sh*t, here comes Kane! The "Big Red Monster" kidnapping Stacy Kiebler was an interesting move, and after the two backstage segments that followed, I can't wait to see where this goes. I assume that whoever Bischoff was the on the phone with will the "Matt Hardy" to Stacy's "Lita" in this storyline. The Dudley Boyz going over La Resistance was expected, and the right call. Interesting to see the tension among La Resistance afterwards. I expect Rene Dupree to branch off and become a singles star, but I wonder if you'll do the same with Rob Conway and Sylvan Grenier, or keep them together. Great first hour main event between Randy Orton and Chris Jericho. The disqualification worked well, I though. Christian and Trish getting the upper hand for a second night in a row should lend nicely to the inevitable moment when they finally get their comeuppance. Legit chuckled at Rene Dupree's, "We suck" remark. You've got me interested in whatever his idea to turn the trio around may be. Nice appearance from Vince McMahon to announce the WWE Draft Lottery for next week's show. I look forward to seeing your take on the event. A solid victory for Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak. I felt that they had some potential as a team, so I hope that you don't split them in the upcoming Draft. Lastly, a great Six Man Tag main event. The face team getting the win was expected to give Benoit a victory as the new World Heavyweight Champion. Enjoyable aftermath, though I am unsure if I can see Shawn Michaels and Benoit on the same page in the future. Overall, a great edition of RAW to start things off in the diary. Keep it up, I'll be reading.

As I said, I dig 2004 so this should be fun. Smart to open with Evolution and Randy Orton vs. Booker T should be entertaining. YOU TRICKED ME! Now a six man tag is good though I wouldn't have announced the Intercontinental Title match. Bait and switches are something I'm not a fan of. John Morrison as Johnny Spade! Molly Holly wearing a wig works but glad she got it removed already instead of dragging that out. I'd like to see Shawn Michaels maybe work a heel turn. It would be different. Kane interrupting was for the best as that match was not a Raw match. Kane leaving with Stacy is intriguing. Maybe she will replace Lita in that whole storyline? The Dudley Boyz winning is good but I felt that by 2004 their run was getting stale. Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton would've been really good, obvious to have Christian interfere. They should have a good match at Backlash. Rene Dupree makes me laugh, wonder what's next for him. The announcement of the Draft is great, I've always loved the draft as it shakes things up and allows for fresh feuds. I wouldn't mind seeing Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak get a push but I would want them to develop better characters first. Very good main event, having Ric Flair tap keeps Triple H strong but also keep Chris Benoit's momentum rolling. Shawn Michaels getting involved is cool and I see a Triple Threat rematch at Backlash. Solid first show.

| WWE SmackDown! - Thursday 18th March 2004 | Boston, MA - FleetCenter |
Segment | Description | Time | 1 | A video package aired, reviewing the SmackDown! brand's key moments that took place last Sunday at WrestleMania XX. It featured highlights such as Eddie Guerrero outsmarting Kurt Angle to retain the WWE Championship; John Cena finally winning his first singles title in the WWE when he captured the United States Championship from the Big Show; And of course, the returning Undertaker reuniting with Paul Bearer and embracing the Dark Side, defeating his brother Kane. The opening video package aired, before cutting to the FleetCenter in Boston, Massachusetts for the fallout of WrestleMania XX, SmackDown! style! Michael Cole and Tazz welcomed us to the show, reminiscing over moments from four nights ago at the grandest stage of them all, before promoting what was coming up tonight, a night where the Undertaker is scheduled to be here for the first time on this show in over four months; and also, the Big Show will team up with Kurt Angle to take on WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero and new United States Champion John Cena, plus more tonight!
| 20:02 | 2 | Rey Mysterio def. Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero (w/Chavo Guerrero Sr) by count-out [08:36] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] These two men have a lot of history, dating back to Rey Mysterio's previous roots with the Guerrero Family, but in recent times, it was Chavo Guerrero who stole the Cruiserweight Championship from Rey Mysterio back at No Way Out in February, and last Sunday at WrestleMania, Chavo used the Guerrero Family Motto by cheating to win the Cruiserweight Open - however tonight it was Mysterio's chance to gain a certain measure of retribution, the stipulation being that if Mysterio defeated Guerrero tonight in non-title action, that he could finally get another title match with the champion. Chavo Guerrero Sr was at ringside as usual, but Rey made a case to look out for Sr as well, a plancha over the top rope landing right on top of the elder Guerrero at one point. Mysterio was here to prove that despite his size, he could handle more than one Guerrero. Chavo soon managed to get the better of Rey, attempting to slow him down and work over him - but the fans in Boston were behind Rey and he soon sprung back to life, Mysterio with the wheelbarrow bulldog, and just when he seemed to set up for the 619, Chavo Sr made the save, pulling his son out of the ring, and the Guerreros did not bother to return!
The fans booed loudly as Rey Mysterio looked angry, wanting to get his hands on Chavo Guerrero badly after once again cheating his way out of a match! Referee Jimmy Korderas counted to nine, but that's when Paul Heyman's theme hit, causing the fans to boo louder, as Heyman seemed in a bad mood tonight, as per. The SmackDown! General Manager made his way down to the ring as SmackDown! went to a commercial break. | 20:13 |
| Commercial Break | 20:17 | 3 | We returned to SmackDown! as the fans were booing, Paul Heyman now stood in the ring with quite an irritated Rey Mysterio after his opponent Chavo Guerrero had once again slyly avoided a match for the Cruiserweight Championship with Mysterio. The SmackDown! General Manager ordered the fans for immediate respect for him, because he was here to drop a bombshell on everybody, much like Vince McMahon did last Monday night when he decided to make a Draft Lottery take place next Monday on RAW. Heyman talked about how he realises how little power he has been allowed in recent months, because of disrespectful punks like Eddie Guerrero, like Rey Mysterio, like Chris Benoit, like John Cena and like a lot of superstars running around - but from now on, he's in charge - and he refuses to be walked all over by anybody. Heyman then elaborated why this was relevant for Mysterio, as Heyman talked about how Rey should rightfully have a shot at the Cruiserweight Champion because of winning this non-title match...unfortunately, it's not good enough. The crowd booed at this, as Heyman told Mysterio that because of his demands to get undeserved title shots in recent weeks, he's making him pay dearly for them. Heyman said that if Mysterio was truly deserved of the Cruiserweight Championship, he'd have to go up against these men...and with that, Tajiri, Akio and Sakoda made their way out to the ring to loud boos! Heyman told Rey that if he wants another title shot anytime soon, he better be ready, because this match is going to happen right now - and if he doesn't win, he'll have to wait at the back of the line! Heyman left, as the three Japanese superstars arrived in the ring, Mysterio put in a hard position tonight on SmackDown! | 20:20 | 4 | An advertisement aired, promoting the encore presentation of WrestleMania XX. The pay-per-view will be on offer for the rest of this week. | 20:21 | 5 | Tajiri, Akio & Sakoda def. Rey Mysterio [04:10] [joined in progress; +00:01 for aftermath] Paul Heyman had seriously put Rey Mysterio in harms' way tonight on SmackDown!, the SmackDown! General Manager having put the resilient Mysterio in a tough position having him have to defeat all three members of this Japanese entourage in order to gain another shot at the Cruiserweight Championship. Mysterio managed to fight off Akio with ease in the opening moments, as Mysterio used a hurricanrana to send Akio into the corner, but the larger member of the trio Sakoda came in and made quite a difference, pounding into Mysterio in the corner. Tajiri then got involved and used some stiff kicks to wear down Mysterio, just having fun with the Mexican superstar! Suddenly however, the ever-resilient Mysterio managed to gain a second breath, as Rey sent Sakoda out to the floor with a headscissors, before somehow getting Akio and Tajiri in the ropes for a 619, it connecting on both of them! Rey was preparing for the West Coast Pop, but suddenly Chavo Guerrero Sr ran out to ringside to distract referee Jimmy Korderas, as Chavo Guerrero Jr ran down to the ringside area, connecting with a shot from the Cruiserweight Championship to the back of the leg! Mysterio clutched the knee as he rolled under the ropes inside the ring, where he came head to foot from a Buzzsaw Kick courtesy of the "Japanese Buzzsaw"! Tajiri hooked the legs and that was it!
The crowd booed loudly as the Guerrero Family members headed back up the aisleway, Chavo Guerrero and his father Chavo Sr with big grins on their faces as Tajiri, Akio and Sakoda began to celebrate in the ring, over the fallen, crestfallen body of Rey Mysterio! Paul Heyman had caused this, and the Guerreros had aided this, knocking Mysterio right back to the bottom of the Cruiserweight Championship hunt! | 20:26 | 6 | We cut to the backstage area, where Paul Heyman was loving what he was seeing on the television, the look of shock and shame in Rey Mysterio's eyes. The SmackDown! General Manager had a grin on his face, when suddenly a door slamming was heard, and in came the APA! Bradshaw and Faarooq asked Heyman what the deal was moments ago, asking what Rey Mysterio did wrong to deserve that. Paul told Bradshaw that he doesn't like being disrespected, and what Rey was doing was disrespecting him - it's all about respect, how being General Manager isn't an easy deal. Faarooq commented on it, talking about how the APA didn't appreciate it, and how exactly they were going to be punished. Paul laughed, telling the APA that if they want to continue to grind his gears, they'll find themselves in a similar way as Rey. Bradshaw dared Heyman to do it, to which Heyman simply laughed, telling Bradshaw that it's a shame that he is being this way, because he could amount to so much more. Heyman told the APA that tonight, we will see a rematch from WrestleMania XX: the World's Greatest Tag Team, Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty, the Basham Brothers, and the APA for the WWE Tag Team Championships: and if the APA don't win, Heyman has the right to fire one of them! Heyman grinned largely once more, as Bradshaw and Faarooq shrugged it off, a big opportunity or the biggest sacrifice to make for the APA! | 20:27 | 7 | In the backstage area, Eddie Guerrero was shown arriving in his dressing room, the WWE Champion all smiles as per tonight, especially after beating Kurt Angle last Sunday at WrestleMania XX. Guerrero was met with John Cena, wearing his newly won United States Championship after defeating the Big Show last Sunday - the two of them hugging it out. Cena told Eddie that he was proud of him, to which Eddie responded the same. The two talked about how tonight they have to do it all over again, Guerrero asking Cena if he was ready for this. Cena told Eddie that he loved him like a brother and would give it every ounce of breath to get the job done. Guerrero smirked, as he told Cena to loosen up a little - they've already beaten them! Eddie told Cena that they will have some fun tonight! | 20:28 |
| Commercial Break | 20:32 | 8 | In the backstage corridor, Kurt Angle was shown arriving at the FleetCenter to loud boos, the Olympic Gold Medalist visibly not happy with the outcome of last Sunday when he was outsmarted by Eddie Guerrero, and was unsuccessful in winning the WWE Championship for a fifth time. He was approached by Josh Mathews, who asked Angle about what Angle was feeling after the loss last Sunday night. Angle commented on how angry he was, because he shouldn't have lost. Angle talked about how his three Is told him that he should not have lost to Eddie Guerrero - that little, lying backstabber last Sunday at WrestleMania. Angle talked about how cheaters never prosper, and how the American Dream is not based on Mexicans like Eddie Guerrero that continue to insult the soil that forefathers like Angle's built. Angle promised that tonight he would redeem himself, one way or another. Angle left, an irked man. | 20:33 | 9 | Rhyno def. Hardcore Holly [06:51] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] These two have had quite a few impactful matches in the past, more recently several weeks ago at No Way Out, where Rhyno fell to defeat at the hands of a backslide courtesy of Hardcore Holly - but Rhyno seemed a bit more driven in recent weeks, seemingly with a mouth in his ear - that being the former employer of the "Man Beast", Paul Heyman. The "Man Beast" went right into this one and fought hard with Holly, going right to work on Holly and taking the fight out to ringside in no hurry. Rhyno was trying to brutalize Holly, as he rushed at Holly and speared him against the barricade, before taking him back into the ring for more further assault. Holly soon began to fight back though, the former Hardcore Champion regaining momentum as Holly stood his ground and caught Rhyno with the Alabama Slam - just for Rhyno to slip out of the ring. Rhyno took his time, but when Holly came out in pursuit, Rhyno gave him a malicious Gore right into the ring steps! Holly seemed to be practically out of it, as Rhyno rolled him back into the ring, where Rhyno set up and a second Gore connected, giving Rhyno the three count.
The crowd booed as the "Man Beast" Rhyno celebrated a win tonight against a former top contender to the WWE Championship, Tazz talking about how this could mean very good things in Rhyno's future - with SmackDown! General Manager Paul Heyman being in his ear! | 20:43 | 10 | Returning to the backstage area, the APA were shown walking down a hallway discussing their problem going into the big four-corner WWE Tag Team Championship match later tonight, Bradshaw trying to convince Faarooq that they cannot let adversity get them down - that this is big for the APA. Faarooq seemed reluctant, asking Bradshaw who he thought Paul Heyman would fire. After some reluctance, Bradshaw told Faarooq not to worry about that, because it was irrelevant - and tonight they would prove it. The two then opened their office door to find their office trashed, with flattened beer cans, alcohol, broken glass and cards everywhere. Their table was knocked over, as the APA seemed even more determined than before. They left without reading the message left for them on their table: "Nice knowing you", written in white graffiti. | 20:44 | 11 | Michael Cole and Tazz were then shown on commentary, talking about what had happened so far tonight, with a new attitude being shown by Paul Heyman - demoralizing Rey Mysterio and sending him to the back of the Cruiserweight Championship contention list, despite going through two matches tonight - but also jeopardizing the careers of the APA by putting them in a four corners WrestleMania XX rematch, the WWE Tag Team Championships on the line with Rikishi & Scotty 2 Hotty, the APA, the Basham Brothers and the World's Greatest Tag Team. They then discussed how we won't even know who will still be on the SmackDown! brand next week, as last Monday night on RAW, Chairman Mr McMahon made a shocking announcement regarding the WWE Draft Lottery taking place this Monday night. Cole touted that anybody could be moving anywhere, and how it's a scary position for every WWE superstar out there to be in. Tazz noted that their fate is in the General Managers' hands. They followed up with a replay from McMahon announcing the 2004 Draft Lottery. They also made note that despite draft picks being made during the course of RAW, there would be a supplemental draft lottery scheduled to take place on WWE.com following the show - and a GM was able to make a trade at any time he saw fit prior to midnight on Tuesday morning. Cole and Tazz concluded, saying how excited yet nervous they were for this Monday night. We then saw the graphic for the WWE Tag Team Championship WrestleMania XX rematch, coming up next as stakes were high for everyone involved! | 20:46 |
| Commercial Break | 20:50 | 12 | The APA def. Rikishi & Scotty 2 Hotty, the Basham Brothers and the World's Greatest Tag Team to WIN the WWE Tag Team Championships [12:24] [+00:04 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] Times were high for the APA in this one, as Bradshaw and Faarooq were in risk of being lost in the shuffle and perhaps being out of a job thanks to Paul Heyman's harsh demands earlier tonight. However this was more than that, as Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty had big competition in the three teams that they had previously defeated last Sunday at WrestleMania XX. It was a huge opportunity for the Basham Brothers, the World's Greatest Tag Team and the APA to take the WWE Tag Team Championships and become the number one team one more time tonight. This was an all-out war from the very start, as all eight participants slugged it out and referee Charles Robinson found it extremely difficult to try and keep on top of the action. Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas wisely decided to seek an alliance with Danny and Doug of the Bashams, as they worked away at the largest man in the match, Rikishi - before choosing to go at it themselves thanks to miscommunication. Bradshaw and Faarooq seemed on edge, as the APA knew how important a win tonight was for them. They needed this to stick a big "screw you" in the face of overly aggressive General Manager Paul Heyman. Rikishi soon regained momentum and gave Danny Basham a big Samoan drop, before getting the tag to Bradshaw, who darted in and went psycho on everybody involved! Bradshaw connected with a Clothesline From Hell to Shelton Benjamin, a powerbomb for Charlie Haas, and a fallaway slam for Scotty 2 Hotty! The fans were behind the APA here, as the Basham Brothers tried to get involved - all eight men once again breaking out in a brawl! It all came down to Bradshaw and Doug Basham however, as Doug and Danny attempted the Basham switch, just for Faarooq to grab the legal Basham, and Bradshaw and Faarooq connected with a double powerbomb, the APA covering to win the WWE Tag Team Championships and retain their jobs!
The fans cheered, as Bradshaw and Faarooq were handed their WWE Tag Team Championship belts, as Michael Cole reminded us that the APA were now allowed to keep their jobs, as well as retain this great opportunity. The APA celebrated in an emotional yet masculine fashion, as Paul Heyman was shown in his office looking completely frustrated with the situation! | 21:07 | 13 | An advertisement aired, promoting the WWE Draft Lottery, scheduled to take place this Monday night on RAW. | 21:08 |
| Commercial Break | 21:12 | 14 | The RAW Rebound aired, reviewing the events from last week's edition of Monday Night RAW. It focused on the speech from Evolution at the beginning of the promo, and its' consequences leading up to the dramatic six-man tag team match between Triple H, Batista and Ric Flair & Chris Benoit, Booker T and Rob Van Dam. However chaos broke out as RAW went off the air, until one unlikely ally Shawn Michaels entered the fold and tended to a beaten down new World Heavyweight Champion. | 21:14 | 15 | In the backstage area, the APA were shown celebrating their victory as WWE Tag Team Champions further, when Paul Heyman suddenly approached Bradshaw and Faarooq and sarcastically congratulated them on a job well done - but it wasn't the job he wanted. Bradshaw questioned why Paul was mad, because they did everything he wanted them to do! Faarooq told Heyman to loosen up, to which the SmackDown! General Manager almost blew a gasket, telling the new WWE Tag Team Champions that they would pay for this; but the APA didn't want anything to hear of it! | 22:15 | 16 | In the backstage area, SmackDown!'s number one announcer, Sho Funaki was shown standing by with the former United States Champion the Big Show, as Funaki wanted to get some comments from the big, angry giant. Show told Funaki that he's still pissed off that he lost the title to that dweeb, John Cena. Show talked about how Cena walked in here and won a title, whereas Show actually fought for it. Show talked about how Cena wants to humiliate the seven-footer, how he wants to make himself famous: but the kicker is that John Cena made himself famous, because tonight when it's all said and done - it would be the Big Show who makes John Cena famous, by annihilating the "Doctor of Thuganomics"! | 22:16 | 17 | Ultimo Dragon def. Jamie Noble [05:13] [+00:02 for entrances] Things have not gone Jamie Noble's way, dating back to when he decided to turn his back on his longtime girlfriend Nidia, and assault her back at No Way Out in the blindfold match - and it escalated up to last Sunday night at WrestleMania XX, where Noble was unsuccessful in the Cruiserweight Open. Also in the Cruiserweight Open was the Japanese superstar, Ultimo Dragon - and tonight these two exciting cruiserweights had the opportunity to blow off some steam, as Noble cut off Dragon in the opening moments with a powerful flurry of offense, lefts and rights - generally trying to weaken the Dragon down. However as the match wore on, Ultimo began to build some momentum, and he proceeded to dazzle the fans in Boston with his high flying antics, almost catching Noble with the Dragon Sleeper as well as the Asai DDT - but Noble managed to keep in control and continue to work away on Dragon. That is until however, Dragon managed to catch Noble in an innovative inside cradle, getting a victory over the trailer park boy!
The fans cheered as Ultimo Dragon wisely slipped out of the ring and up the aisleway, as Jamie Noble was left distraught in the ring! Noble could not believe that he had lost to Dragon - and one had to imagine that this was just added fuel to the fire of what makes Noble an angry young man! | 22:23 | 18 | In the backstage area, Michael Cole directed us to a fight that was breaking out - and indeed it was, as the Full Blooded Italians had assaulted the APA in their demolished office! Nunzio directed traffic as Johnny Stamboli and Chuck Palumbo beat down Bradshaw and Faarooq, leaving the new WWE Tag Team Champions unconscious! Nunzio delivered a steel chair shot over the head of Bradshaw to put an exclamation mark on things, but who could have believed that the FBI would do this to the APA! | 22:24 | 19 | Meanwhile, the WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero and the new United States Champion John Cena were shown finishing getting ready and leaving for the ring, as the Big Show and Kurt Angle were shown walking down separate corridors - and up next, we are going to see a huge tag team main event! | 22:24 | 20 | A vignette aired, reviewing highlights of the match between the Undertaker and Kane from WrestleMania XX last Sunday. Included was the rise of the "Deadman" persona, and the returning Paul Bearer. The vignette concluded, stating that the "Phenom" would rise again, next Thursday night on SmackDown! | 22:25 |
| Commercial Break | 22:29 | 21 | WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero & United States Champion John Cena def. Kurt Angle & The Big Show [16:30] [+00:04 for entrances; +00:02 for aftermath] A huge main event for SmackDown! tonight, as two matches that took place from the SmackDown! brand last Sunday at what could have possibly been the biggest WrestleMania of all time paired up for tag team action in this epic main event tonight. "Latino Heat" took the "Doctor of Thuganomics" under his wing, as the WWE Champion teamed up with the United States Champion against their aggressive rivals that both suffered losses last Sunday night, Kurt Angle and the Big Show. Show and Angle worked well as a tag team however, showing aggressiveness works well in multiple doses, and they proved that to the "Doctor of Thuganomics" early in this one, just as John Cena was starting to shine in outwrestling the Olympic Gold Medalist. Show brutalized Angle similar to what he said he would do earlier tonight, and Angle repeatedly went to work on the ankle of Cena, much to the chagrin of the WWE Champion, who continued to watch on and hope for Cena to gain momentum. The fans in Boston were well behind Cena, as Show had a bear hug locked in, but Cena used the strength to slowly but surely power out, aiming low and Charlie Horsing the legs of the Big Show! Cena got the tag to Eddie, who darted in to meet Show - and that's when Eddie started throwing low dropkicks too! Guerrero had Show on his knees before he caught him with an enzuigiri - and "Latino Heat" was on fire! Guerrero met Angle in the ring off the blind tag, and Guerrero managed to fire away at Angle with many lefts and rights, payback for everything Angle had done to Eddie in the past two months! However it would all come down to Cena and Angle, as Show brought Guerrero to ringside and pounded away at him - but in the ring, Angle was about to sync in the Ankle Lock, but Cena managed to slip out and pull Angle into the previously exposed middle turnbuckle (as done by Eddie), before Cena laid Angle out with the FU, giving the new United States Champion and the WWE Champion victory! **3/4
The fans in the FleetCenter rose to their victory in celebration, as the newly crowned United States Champion had defeated the Olympic Gold Medalist! The "Doctor of Thuganomics" John Cena took his title and celebrated with it, as the Big Show was left looking on in pure anger at ringside. Eddie Guerrero then joined the celebration, the WWE Champion raising Cena's hand in victory - when suddenly the theme of our SmackDown! General Manager played! The crowd booed as Paul Heyman once again graced the stage, stealing the thunder of the superstars in the ring! Heyman, brandishing a huge smirk on his face talked about how the Draft Lottery should surely bring change, and he really couldn't wait to see Eddie or John get drafted to RAW, so he wouldn't have to deal with them ever again! The crowd booed, as Paul talked about how he's watched both of these stars rise to the top, and if he's honest he hates it - which is why he has the perfect idea: next Thursday night on SmackDown!, we will see John Cena and Eddie Guerrero face off in a match for the WWE Championship AND the United States Championship. The crowd gave this a loud pop, when suddenly Heyman added that the man with no gold at the end of next Thursday night...would be fired from SmackDown! Heyman told the fan favourites to enjoy, as Cena and Guerrero glanced over at one another in shock - the new and improved authority of Paul Heyman had shown his ugly face tonight, as SmackDown! went off the air. | 22:51 |
| WWE Velocity results [3/20/2004]: Paul London & Billy Kidman def. Akio & Sakoda in 8:03 after the Shooting Star Press from Kidman to Sakoda. A-Train def. Billy Gunn in 7:11 after the Derailer. Nidia def. Dawn Marie in 4:40 in a Bra & Panties match.

First shows of the diary and fall out from Mania. Both shows were fine, preferred Smack Down over Raw this week but that's not a knock on Raw.
Good to see RVD and Booker involved in the Main Event. Benoit was never the best talker. Good opening overall. Sure you'll make this Kane story interesting. Jericho and Orton would have been great as would of the Main Event. Decent show which continued the current stories but also got behind younger talent like garrison, jindrak and dupree.
A lot of top cruiserweight talent in WWE at this point and Smack Down kicked off with the cruiser weights getting the spotlight but it also got over Heymans agenda. APA winning the belts was fine good to see your not rushing the JBL creation. Cena and Eddie being so tight seemed a bit odd sure they were feuded not long before this BUT them being tight made the announcement at the end more interesting. Wonder where you go with Cena/Eddie next week.
With the Draft I hope you give the company a fresh start and completely switch things round to your own tastes even if it means dropping certain stories. I'd like to see you put down your own stamp on this, no need to wait around.
Check out what you've missed from TNA 02-03
