Anyone else miss the scheduled PPV series, similar to Jakks, where the line came out almost as frequent as the RA line did. I rather collect figures based on an attire worn at a specific, iconic event rather than an attire that a superstar worn during a time period. Anyone else miss this/wish Mattel did this?

Well, yes and no.
Yes, because of the many different attires that they put out and the cardings were always ppv themed, but they were pretty much rushed and repaints.
No, because they didnt put too much effort into them when all they did was reuse parts and slap on a different paint scheme.
Mattel, usually take their time and produce solid figures, so I'd hate to see them go that route.
Bottom line ... Not really
Best of PPV Series is just fine with me !

Jakks was five years ago and completely irrelevant now though. Just because Mattel's Mysterio isn't as tall as their Big Show doesn't mean their parts reuse isn't at times absolutely terrible. I'm looking at your boots, Billy Gunn.

Shoot, most Takers are repaints, so if that gives me different attires on more elite Takers, then, welp....I'd buy em all

No, because the way it is now, we get new characters quicker. Instead of having to wait 2 months between regular basic sets, there's an opportunity for Divas and new characters each set.

No, I don't need even more repaints galore. Heritage sets are working well, they could just maybe sprinkle a couple more of those throughout the year.
