Cringey as . Fit's cringey? A team with the second highest budget in the country getting an absolute humping (6 (six) - 1) off of Motherlol? Sevco having 3 Aberdeen rejects in their team that couldn't win the Championship or the playoffs? Having three years to build a squad full of youth and sellable assets but ending up with a whole squad of players that are out of contract? Or Cammy Bell's attempt at a punch?

Why didn't Bell just....y'know....catch it like anyone with half a brain?

I was more talking about your obsession with such a new club (that actually, you know, isn't in the eyes of FIFA, UEFA and the SFA.) Absolute crape patter. But yeah, the rest of the things you mentioned are embarrassing. Much like your use of the word "Motherlol." Was never expecting Rangers to get past Queen of the South in all honesty. Done well to make it to the final. Still don't think McCall is the answer though. This summer is going to be an insane rebuilding process. Can't afford to up this time. Probably one of the most important summer in the club's history.

If the new appeared Gretna (claiming to be the old Gretna) with £100M and started saying that they were going to get "back to where we belong" and expecting to be in the premiership competing at the top end of the table then I would be all over that like a rash! They went out of business! Foot, knackered, ended, kapoot and maybe my favourite deid! They don't deserve to be where they were because it was based on spending money they didn't have and put other clubs in danger trying to keep up.
And not to go over the same arguments again, but,
The SFA gave Sevco their first season starting from the very bottom and not Rangers' 2nd place finish and began the League Cup campaign in the first round.
And if it was the same club then there would still be a UEFA license and European Football would have been a possibility through the cups.
Motherlol was born alongside Stuart McLol at the start of the season when they were that bad they got beat by a team known only for their elaborate celebrations and out of bitterness of last seasons finish.
But as you said, this is a huge close season for your club. If there isn't a manager in place soon then it could well be an uphill battle from the word go for him. The first player or three to sign will be very gutsy. There's no idea of the starting squad and for a team wanting to win the league and probably do better than Hearts last season, it would take someone with a fair set of cajones between their legs to sign up not knowing who their centre half/striking partner will be.

I'm pretty sure you can't play European football for a certain amount of time after going into administration. Not 100% sure so a good possibility I'm wrong.

The 3 years definitely rings a bell but I can't think if I've heard Hearts can't qualify if they manage to get up the league next season. I know you can't get in if you're in administration but whether there's a penalty or not after coming out of it I'm not 100%.

You have to produce 3 years worth of accounts to play in Europe. New company so could produce them, therefore no Europe for 3 years.

But would the previous companies accounts not count for the three years they were under their control, or does the owning company have to be the one with the previous accounts?

So Paul Quinn either bottles it or gets a better move elsewhere, but we get a striker from Man City. Fingers crossed he's a good un and we can get a better defender than Quinn to challenge for a first team place.
Ho hum.

Good bloke is Paul. Not a good footballer though.

Be interesting to see how Warburton gets on at Rangers. On paper a very good appointment.

Think next season is going to a year consolidation for Hearts. Hopefully we'll get in the top six. I was a bit more optimistic a few weeks back but i think that was due to enormous amounts of alcohol being in my system...

I think winning the split would be an achievable and admirable target, but top 6 would be fantastic and it would be an astonishing job done by Ann Budge to make that possible. Unfortunately, I can't see top 6 just yet but the building blocks are there for the season after next where there could be a possibility of a European challenge, with the addition of a few good players. I think the play-off final showed the gap between this season's Premiership and Championship, but as Hearts weren't really challenged it's hard to judge the ability of the squad.

Yip i agree, the gap is huge. pushing for 14000 season tickets this season, we're at 12000 already. The club is reborn, but it'll be a while before we're walking about and challenging for European places. anywhoo, Danny Wilson.............

How you've done it I don't know but the fans have been phenomenal in the past few years. That's season ticket numbers that even after a comfortable 2nd place finish, we can only dream of. I see we're away to Utd on the 1st day of the season. Hopefully that'll be changed for European dates but it means we'll have no Saturday game at Tannadice this season. The other one is a Wednesday unfortunately, so unless we're both pumped out of the cups early on I can't see any changes to that. Europa League draw for rounds 1 and 2 on Monday. Hopefully all Scottish teams get easy enough ties! I can't see it but with a great draw for 2 teams it's not too far fetched to think of 2 teams in the group stages.

Disappointed with both Scottish teams last night but things don't look too bad for next week. I expect both us and the Saints to win but just hope St Johnstone can keep a clean sheet!
