This is something I've thought about lately. I just turned 22 in March and it suddenly dawned on me that I'm no longer a kid. I am now an adult even if I don't feel like it or even look like it. We're all getting older and there will come a time when we no longer look as young as we feel and will be old and coming to the end of our lives while other people's lives are just beginning. While inevitable, does that scare or depress you at all? I have been so accustomed to being young for virtually my whole life that I really do not look forward to being old. In 50 years everything around me will be so different. There will be so many new faces, young people, changes in the world, your friends around you may die before you, wrestling will be completely different and all the wrestlers I know will be retired and even dead. The landscape of everything we know will be totally different. It's gonna be weird & slightly depressing to be thinking of my childhood being 50 years ago. Not to mention a lot of your family members will likely be gone. But it makes me appreciate everything that much more now. I'm young, have my whole life in front of me and am able to realise that I should make the absolute most of my life etc. That's one reason I really appreciate wrestling right now and have done over the past 2 or 3 years more than anything. I realise that a lot of wrestlers from my childhood aren't going to be around forever so I enjoy them now as much as I can. I guess getting old won't be so bad if I live a happy life and find a nice girl to spend the rest of my life with as well as keep my friends close and refrain from becoming lonely. Now that would be truly depressing. I'm really just over thinking things though, aren't I? I'm 22 and that's a LONG way away. (Off topic, I'm now the same age Randy Orton was when he debuted on SmackDown, mind blown. I have 2 years to break his record as youngest world champion of all time  ) |

No. I am afraid of losing my mind though. I'm already mentally ill and I'm sure as I get older it'll only get worse. So I guess getting older does factor into that but I'm not afraid of being old. I'm afraid of going even more insane.

Absolutely. I'm afraid I'll never earn enough money to live "comfortably" for the rest of my adult life. There's so much responsibility with getting older and I don't really look forward to all of the curveballs old age throws you.

A little bit. Right now I'm 21 and still live like a man child. Still live at home and my mom still does a lot for me like cooking cleaning and laundry but on the other side of things I do work full time and did pay for my own car/car insurance. I just don't make enough to live independently 100%.

I am. I see old people and I think it's gonna suck struggling to hear, moving so slow & being so frail.

Yes, I'm afraid of getting old because when your an adult, you must change lots of things. Which is why I'm making the most of my childhood before it's too late.

I'm already kind of there.
Hell, 22 already seems like a lifetime ago.
You know how you can barely remember parts of your early childhood? That's how my teen years are to me now.
High School is a distant memory, and college is all a blur now. Heck, my first marriage is a blur now.
One of the scariest things about being older is that time keeps going by faster and faster. Every year older you get, the faster each year goes by.
I would love to tell you that getting older is awesome. And I guess parts of it are pretty cool. But mostly, after 30, it's mostly financial stress and your body betraying you. By the time you raise your kids and pay off your debts, you are too old to enjoy life and most people die shortly after.

One one hand, I kinda like what the future holds. I can't wait to build years of lifting experience and be a swole dad by the time I'm 40-50. I'm almost 23, graduated, living with my parents, and getting utterly destroyed by the job search. I want to get out and be independent. I'm not scared of being a a 'real' adult.. just kinda scared about getting there.
On the other hand, I get srsly jelly when I see sports stars/racers/etc younger than me. I know, I know, it's not fair or logical to compare myself to those few elite. But damn, it makes me question what have I accomplished in life.

Yes. I've been in midlife crisis mode since I turned 30. I'll be 32 this year. Not that I'm not happy with where I am in my life, cuz I am. Extremely. It's just that ages 20-25 were so much fun and I don't see/talk to my friends like I used to.

Sh*t, I have socks older than you.
You can always get older, but you never have to grow up. Part of me is "the responsible adult" who goes to work every day, pays my bills & puts money in the bank. Then there is the other part of me that still goes to amusement parks, comic book shows, watches old cartoons & eats cereal for dinner.
You only have a short time on this big blue marble. Have fun while you can!

I am. Every time I see an elderly person that can barely walk, moving really slow and they are by themselves carrying their bags, struggling. I get scare and depress seeing that that's is going to be me in a couple of years. That's why I rather go young.

I'm excited for the future, I can't be a pro wrestler when I'm a teenager. When I'm older I can. However, when I'm 50 I can't be a wrestler and I have nothing to look forward to.

You dont need money to live comfortably. How about you guys try to live off the land, Go live on a nice plot of land you can grow your own food and take care of animals for food later on. Cook over a fire (Im assuming some of you know how to make a fire, if not than youre just lazy.)
Im living with no electricity at my house, I go where i can to charge my laptop for entertainment, I cook over a fire, I go hunting and fishing for my food. I grow vegetables and fruits.
As for the Ops questions, I am not afraid of getting old. Im going to be 27 in july, and ive never been happier with my life. Im teaching my parents how to live off the land along with my BF and his brother (Who have done this for over 10 years)
Getting old is a state of mind.
