I've been thinking about my life lately. I'm still very young(22) and have my whole life ahead of me. But at the same time when getting to thinking and organising all my photos over the last several years into albums on my laptop, I've actually had a ton of cool experiences and some really good times in my life. All the people I've met, wrestlers I've met, friendships I've made, shows & places I've been to, cool things I've done: my life has been very lively when I truly stop and think about it. I have some wonderful memories and it makes me happy that my life has only just begun and I have so many more to look forward to. I thought this would be a nice reminiscent thread where we can each share a fun little thing that happened to us at some point in our life. Here's one from me. This isn't even a huge moment in my life but a cool memory to me nonetheless. I'm a huge wrestling fan obviously. I've watched since around 1998 when I was 6 years old. This one time in April 2009 the WWE superstars were doing 2 house shows over here one week, a Raw and SD show respectively. And the hotel they stayed at is literally just across the road from my house: so this was an amazing chance to meet some wrestlers and I did this several times over the years since late 08. So the eve of the Raw show, I was up all night in my room in a nostalgic mood playing SmackDown Here Comes The Pain. I was doing a Season mode as Kane and I was excited about meeting wrestlers that morning & meeting my friend across the street to go and do so. Long story short: I'm playing as Kane, a wrestler I've watched since I was very young, in my favourite video game and then just a few short hours later I met him across the street outside the hotel with my friend as he was leaving the gym & heading back into the hotel. He was super nice too & even chatted away with us. Pretty damn surreal when I truly think about it. I met a bunch of other wrestlers too but Kane stood out to me the most because of that. So, any cool stories of your own? Let's read em

That is pretty damn cool. I'll share two, if it's alright with you. One isn't even a story, but just something kind of cool. So in late 2010 WWE had a house show in Bowling Green (When Kane was champ!) we had a great time. We got lost trying to find the bathroom and ended up behind the stage for a minute and was able to talk to Ted DiBiase and Daniel Bryan, whose match was next. That was my first taste of meeting a wrestler. My other story is a long life dream of mine that finally came true. I have a friend that owns an independent promotion, so obviously I was at his house every week while he was at work and I was off from school and practicing. After about 2 months of that he trained me professionally for another 5 months. The opportunity of a lifetime came when he said his wrestler had been injured and he needs one more guy for the show. Keep in mind I just turned 15 at this point, so it's technically illegal for me to do. I told him that and he said "The KBWA told me they owe me a favor anyway." So I was able to wrestle. Wait there's more! So I got there at the time supposed to, about 2 o'clock, the ring is already set up and ing JAKE THE SNAKE walks up to me and shakes my hand, and says he looks forward to the tag match. Im confused as because I didn't know I was going to be in a tag match against JAKE ING ROBERTS. I was paired with HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN and that was the greatest experience I'll ever have. Bein able to wrestle in front of about 500 people was amazing, and I wouldn't trade anything in the world for that, as I got to talk to Jim Duggan and Jake the Snake, and Brutus Beefcake. (He wasn't in the match but he had a match later on). So yes, that's my best memory and experience. Believe it, don't, it doesn't matter, it was amazing to me.

the 4th of July has always been a huge part of my life. My town plays host to the largest celebration in the state, with upwards of 60,000 people descending upon the small town over the course of a few days to take part in the festivities. My father was the chairman of the all volunteer committee from 1995 until 2010, so it played an absolutely huge part in my childhood and teen to early adult years. While he was never paid a dime for his work (and frequently took from his own money), the chair position was a year round, full-time job. December was really the only "quiet" month of the year, as planning began in January, and August-November was filled with wrapping up the books from the previous year and planting the seeds for next year's celebration.
In 2010, my dad went all out. The town knew it was his final year, donations were pouring in and they were able to pull off the biggest set of events they've had to date, expanding the celebration to a full week of community events, adding nearly $8,000 to the already large Fireworks show, and several other events as early as June to raise additional money. For a few years prior, we had talked about adding a special event catered to my age group at the time, but it never come to fruition. Being his final year, he set aside about $2,000 in his budget, came to me and said "book me a show."
I started planning around March. I talked to several local promoters and they all said I was crazy. I was after Sparks the Rescue - the biggest band in the state at the time, who were at the absolute peak of their popularity, signed to Fearless Records, and announced for the Warped Tour that summer.
After several road blocks, I got a contract written up with their booking agency in California for far less than their asking price. Turns out the band thought the idea of a big, free outdoor show would be fun and wanted to play a big show in Maine before leaving for Warped.
I managed to book the other 4 most popular bands in the state for a bit of an "all-star" line-up. The show went off without a hitch and is widely considered the most successful local show ever in Maine, with over 1,000 people in attendance. The committee made back almost my entire budget just in food alone, not counting glow sticks and various other little things they sold that night. The bands loved it, and to this day I get asked if I'm ever going to do another show like it again.
It was something I'll always remember fondly. I was heavily invested in the scene at the time, and to be able to put on a show, work with these bands as peers and have them enjoy themselves so much was an incredible experience.

jeeze there are so many from sharing the stage with Marky Ramone and singing a Ramones song to being featured on a PPV in Mexico from this Lucha fed I worked to doing a play and having the writer of the play sit in the audience and after it's over comes up to me and told me I was better than Kevin Spacey who stared in the movie based on his book. I've travelled the world and acted in front of tons of people. It's difficult to pick just one cool moment. LOL

Well I went on the TARDIS set a year ago next week. That was a pretty awesome day for me, and what I'd call the best day of my life.

Yeah, there's a lot. I'll throw you a bone with a wrestling related one and come back later probably, 'cause I love to spin a yarn. Ask the WFWF guys...
So in high school my folks got hooked on the notion of going to Disney World in Orlando every year on our February break. At 16, I b*tched and moaned that I never got to spent vacation with my friends, so out of the blue they let me take my best friend along one year. This was the February right after 9/11, and my psycho dad who insisted on wearing his NRA leather coat to the airport to prove some no-point also insisted we get there like five hours early to beat the security rush he anticipated. Because this was before Manchester Airport had integrated the word "Boston" into their name to attract more travelers and because the only security snag was someone in our party getting pulled aside because his coat tipped off the agents that he might be packing, we were left with a good 4.5 hours to kill. My buddy and I said our where-we'll-bes and took off to wander the gates. As we're leaving ours at the far end of the airport, heading down the other, my friend points out a guy and remarks that he could be Shawn Michaels if Shawn Michaels had arms and shoulders the size of Texas. I responded that nah, I figure he looks more like Rob van Dam than anything. Guy passes us, smirks a bit, and keeps going. Come across another arrival - stringy black hair, some facial hair, and dark glasses. Buddy reckons he could pass for a poor man's Undertaker, at which point I'm thinking what's with all the jacked up oddballs flying into New Hampshire. Turn to see where poor man's Undertaker is headed, and there's Booker T just hanging out at the gate exit. Long story a little less long - we continued down the gate, and either spotted or met, just to name a few, Arn Anderson, The Dudley Boys, Kane, Booker T, Triple H, The Hardys, Dean Malenko, and at least a dozen others, all landing that morning for a taping up the road later that night.

Got a ton of "holy cow" and "once in a lifetime" moments, but these are the only wrestling ones I can think of:
- Mick Foley got in line behind me at a Boston Market restaurant prior to a house show in the late '90s. My friend remarked that he looked like him, and didn't even realize it WAS him. We said hello and got a signed menu - LOL. He was nice.
- The circumstances that led to this next one impress me. Last year I had plans to be in another state for work during a certain week, but it got pushed back. For my return flight home, I was able to route myself through Charlotte and take a long layover in order to see my parents and go out to dinner. So I got back to the airport for my flight, sat down (facing the gate), then realized I needed some water. Got up to fill up my water bottle, came back and had to get another seat. Got one facing outward and noticed a guy who looked familiar. I didn't think much of it at first but upon another look I would have sworn it was Hacksaw. So I walked up, excused myself, and asked if he was Hacksaw. He got bright-eyed and said with a grunt, "YYYEAH!" and I just flipped. I've always loved the dude and over the years since I've stopped watching he's been one of the few guys I still ever cared to see. So I got to talk with him for a bit and get a couple photos. He made me give the thumbs up and I got a subdued HOOOOO. Turns out he was on his way to my local Comic Con the following day.
So on that one, I can thank the postponement of a work project, the ability to find a flight to get me on a different route, and the luck to have a layover allowing me to jump on the same flight he ended up being on. Not to mention getting up for water and having to find another seat, otherwise I wouldn't even have seen him standing where he had been.

I won Best in Show at an art show back in high school. It was one of those things where the art teacher made each student in art class submit one piece of art for this show in some other city. Three months or so passed and I had forgotten about it. One day the teacher says she has our art back and telling us how well we did. Somehow I got first place Best in Show and she said I even got a few offers to buy my art.
I got a couple of wrestling ones too.
I went to a WWE house show with my mom and brother. Me and my brother are full grown men but we took my mom just to get her away from home. She really didn't want to go and had not paid any attention to wrestling since me and my brother were kids. She ended up having a blast, Jim Duggan was there so she recognized at least one wrestler and of course she fell in love with John Cena. She was driving us home and all she did was talk about how much fun she had and we notice Shelton Benjamin in a car in the lane next to use. We stop at a traffic light and wave, get his attention and thank him for the fun show. He says, "You're welcome, turn on your lights." and he drove away. My mom notices in all the excitement of the show that she never turned on her headlights.
I once wrote a letter to Trish Stratus and also sent a picture to get signed. When I got the picture back I was surprised to find out that she wrote a two page letter back to me and even signed the photo using an old nickname I used to go by that I mentioned in the letter. I was so shocked that she took that much time to write back to a fan and more surprised that she even read my letter.

I got an award for moving a chair What's the story behind this? During parent teacher conferences in 7th, I think, grade a teacher asked me and my friend to move two chairs down the hall a little. We did so and at the next awards ceremony we both got awards for helping around the school.

This happened in early February:
I was in New York City for a job interview. I was finished with the interview and had some time to kill so I figured I might as well walk around the city (even though I'm originally from NY, I can never get enough of it). I was walking around the W40s area of the city and was waiting to cross the street. I noticed a black SUV was stopped at a light...and DOZENS of kids ran up to it. Oddly enough, all of the kids were Asian. I figured it was some prominent Asian celebrity that was in town for a TV appearance or something. The person in the front seat of the SUV rolled down his window to reveal....Matt Damon. He hurriedly signed a couple of autographs before the SUV sped away as soon as the light turned green. It was surreal seeing such a huge celebrity mere feet away from me.
A few minutes later, I continued walking casually down the street. I was listening to my iPod and walking pretty briskly. I suddenly looked up and realized a gigantic line formed at the side-exit of the Good Morning America studio. The people in line were absolutely crazed and forming a huge crowd. Obviously a celebrity had just exited the studio but I couldn't see who. I walked closer and spotted a VERY short man surrounded by body guards. The man turned around and revealed himself to be...Kevin Hart! His body guards were in a rush to get him to an SUV that was parked but Hart was signing everything he could. He looked up at me (i'm very tall, about 6'5) and said "Hey man, what's up!" I responded "Hey man, nice to meet you! Big fan!" He said "Thanks!" and finished signing an autograph before being put into the SUV.
So, basically, in the span of 10-minutes I saw two huge celebrities. Gotta love NYC! I've actually spotted tons of celebrities in the city. It's funny how some New Yorkers don't notice them or (more likely) don't care that they're there lol.
