He is officially in the Shelton Benjamin/John Morrison role and has been for quite some time now. this. his time to be a bona-fide main eventer was year's ago, and that time has passed. he was ready to ascend to the next level after his great feud with Orton, but the WWE-brain trust at the time decided to keep him at the mid-card level. and that's where he's apparently going to stay. I don't think the question is will WWE let him go : he still sells merchandise and is dependable in the ring. the REAL question is whether or not Kofi is happy with his role in WWE,and whether he's content to possibly play out the remaining prime years of his career at this same level by choosing to resign with them, or if he's willing to take his chances elsewhere and possibly become a bigger star,or possibly flounder and make less money.

Never liked the guy. Might be because when I started watching again in 2010 after a few year hiatus, I was looking for Shelton Benjamin only to find out Kofi "replaced" him. He's never done anything since then that has impressed me or made me care about him. I groan every time the guy come on TV.

He needs to dump the 'cartoon' image he's been stuck in. We all enjoy a neon color every now and then, but it's overkill with him. He's in the John Cena clean-cut ilk.

I still don't get the Jamaican colours and theme when he is billed from Ghana, Africa. He's a good wrestler but little things like that bug me.

Kofi is an interesting dude. He's been in WWE since 2007, so 7 years. He's always featured on promotional advertisements and charity events. He's super likeable, he always puts on good matches. He has undeniable charisma despite how little mic time he gets on Raw. The kids love him. He's marketable and sells plenty of merch. He's just another midcarder wasting away while the best years of his athleticism are slipping away.

He's really not that talented, just a lot of jumping and spots. No mic skills, and no real ring skills.

I don't think Kofi's ever going to do anything of note again. He should have -- he's basically Shelton Benjamin, only much more marketable, colourful and likeable, and with a bit of personality. But the time to elevate him came and went and it never happened, and at this point he's gone from being one of my favourites to just another "oh, this again" guy. I hope he never competes for a midcard title ever again because he's done it so many times and it was always meaningless. Probably the biggest victim of WWE's stop-start booking because you can see the potential in him to do really well if the company got behind him back when it mattered, but he's not good enough to force himself to that level. I still don't get the Jamaican colours and theme when he is billed from Ghana, Africa. He's a good wrestler but little things like that bug me. The differences between Ghana and Jamaica are so subtle (and/or unknown to the majority of the audience) that there's no point changing anything.

Kofi severely lacks anything close to resembling charisma. He can be as agile as he wants, but if he doesn't connect with the crowd on a level beyond being agile, then he's not going to go anywhere. I'd say at this point, the best bet is to just let him go. Basically all he's done for the past several years is a yearly spot at the Royal Rumble, and it's becoming tedious. You tell me the last time he was given mic time to connect with the fans.

He probably doesn't ask for it, or want it because he's one of the people who won't ever speak up about their position and he's happy coasting for a paycheck.

I want them to do something with Kofi.. he's insanely talented in the ring and I think he could handle a good heel push.

It took me awhile to get used to Kofi but once I did I really started enjoying him. When he looked like he was about to break out against Orton I was intrigued and I thought he did all the right things to continue to be pushed. Orton acted like a ing child though and genuinely ruined any hope the guy had of busting out from the midcard. His Rumble spots are entertaining and he's always a lock for a great spot during a gimmick match but WWE's days of getting anything more than cheap face pops out of him are seemingly over. I always wonder why WWE doesn't try to repackage guys like Kofi or at a minimum put him in another babyface tag team that's sure to entertain the crowd. Kofi and Justin Gabriel could accomplish what Kofi did with Bourne. The same can be said for a guy like Tyson Kidd. There seems to be value with some of these guys and they are going to complete waste. I think it seems likely that Kofi will feud for a midcard title again at some point but he's about as stagnant as he has ever been in WWE. Great athlete, chip on his shoulder charisma, but he's always had a one dimensional character. It would take some serious work to shed Kofi of his stigma and that's not something I see WWE ever attempting to do.

Sadly, the only time I'm interested in him is when he is in the royal rumble match. Me too...plus the Battle Royal at WMXXX- that was pretty bloody cool.

I don't remember when I gave up on Kofi ever having a meaningful push, but I did. Kofi can do things that no one else on the roster can, he's extremely personable, and has a memorable persona. Yet it seems like no one was in his corner after the Orton debacle. My guess is that he continues in his ambassador/public appearance role with WWE from this point.
