So I recently picked up Elite Series 8 Edge on eBay. I was stoked to win the Rated-R Superstar. But when I opened the package today, he smelled like cigarette smoke. I'm a nonsmoker, and I'd prefer my guys not reek of cigarette smoke. Any tips for getting the stink out?

U could maybe put the jacket in the washer and I get a bar of soap rub it all over the fig and let it soak in some water for about 20 to 30 mins and it comes out

Just so you know the jacket is not real clothing, please do not put it in the washing machine. Please.

I'd probably just put it in warm, soapy water for an hour or two.

Dude this figure totally reaks of awesomeness.....oh wait that's smoke...
I would fill your sink with some hot water and a little bit of any kind of cleaner(depends on what you use, try not using anything too strong or chemically so it won't damage the figure) soak it for a little bit pull it out and let it dry off.

The problem is that the rubber is porous and the smell seeps into it, so cleaning them off doesn't work well. I tried leaving CSTT1 LOD in a baggie with fabric softener sheets, soaked them in vinegar, left them outside for a month, etc., and they still stunk like smoke enough to gag a maggot. I just had to end up reselling them at a much lower price to someone who didn't mind.
I'll never buy another loose figure without making absolutely sure it wasn't around smoke.

Yeah, I bought some M.U.S.C.L.E figures online and they reeked of cigarette smoke. I soaked them in Febreeze, soapy hot water, bleach water, vinegar, industrial orange hand washing detergent. Nothing worked well. Now, after doing this for a long time with each, they barely smell but they still smell a little bit. Smoke is the worst thing to get into plastic.

You sit him down and give him a stern talking to! That should make him quit

Seal him in a zip lock freezer bag with a couple dryer sheets for a week. it'll remove the smoke smell.

Lesson learned the hard way. I've bought a lot of figures in the last couple of months, and this is the first time I've had an issue. Guess I've been lucky. That said, I'll be asking from here on out.

Like other members have said, just zip him up on a bag with some dryer sheets for a week or two.

Tell Edge to stop smoking. But for real what PJ said would work best

Baking soda absorbs smells. So does activated charcoal. Do what you wish with this information.
