Wii U?

So, it's payday and I got much more than I had expected, think I got my tax back from last month that I shouldn't have got taken off. Anywaaaay, I am on the fence about getting a Wii U. I saw Nintendo UK are doing an offer when you redeem your MK8 code you can get another free game: I'd be getting the MK8 bundle for about £249.99, is it really worth it? I am looking forward to the new Smash Bros, and MK is always fun, plus the free Pikmin 3 is always great. But are the games easy to play with the huge controller? Like, how does MK work with that? Cheers!

The controller is more comfortable than you might think. Mario Kart 8 works fine with it so that shouldn't be a problem, although I would recommend getting a pro controller for it. But I will say the bundle is worth it and there is enough games out for the system now and coming this year to make recommending the console an easy choice for me.

I bought the Mario Kart bundle for my wife's birthday present when it came out. I bought Super Mario World 3D and for my free game I chose Zelda Windwaker HD. Most of the free game choices are excellent. There are not a lot of games for the system, but there are a handful of quality ones. I highly recommend getting a PRO Controller, which I use a lot. But the gamepad works great for most games, and remote play is a lifesaver if your wife likes to watch Teen Mom, or you want to play PS4 while she plays Mario.

Just bought a Wii U, screw you guys if it's crap LMAO. You'll like I am sure. The console is so damn small! I was expecting something much bigger, not that I'm complaining! Got MK8, New Super Mario Bros U and Wind Waker HD, as well as Pikmin 3 as my free game!

The Wii U takes up most of my time. It has tons of quality games, more than PS4 and XBONE combined at the moment.

I'd recommend Mario 3D World and DK Tropical Freeze whenever you get the chance to get some new games for it.

Really? £249!? Good god, no! For a console every major publisher and developer has all but abandoned? Christ no.

You do realize that anyone interested in a Nintendo console is buying it to play Nintendo games? That's been the entire point of buying a Nintendo console for years now. And the average consumer probably only buys about 5 games per year anyway.

It's a matter of Quantity and Quality. This. Nintendo may not release as many games as Sony or Microsoft, but they are far more consistent as far as quality goes. They take their time crafting these games until they become the masterpieces that they are.

I think Nintendo would have released games at a better rate for Wii U than they have been, but, it's been reported multiple times they have had trouble transitioning to HD. But they do release more first party games per year than Microsoft does. The 360 relied heavily on the fact that third party games were superior on it last generation, a luxury they no longer have, so now you see them trying to create new IP's and more first party offerings.
