I don't recall the fans ever turning on Taker without him being established as a heel first.
Even when they turned on HBK in 1997 it was already established he was going to be heel for accidentally costing Taker the match.
The only oddball case would really be Survivor Series 1996 where the MSG crowd highly favored Sid over HBK.
