no,he was married to the the sister of Bret's wife. Ahh. I knew he was an extended relative some how. It's been a while since I read Bret's book. May need to re-read that one soon. I loved it while most don't seem to be so fond of it. I love Bret's book but he did go on a bit, I could've done without all the details on his numerous affairs.

Although he does praise himself on every damn page. It didn't bother me any........Animals book was much worse in that aspect.

Is Animals book any good? It's not bad by no means. Some hilarious stories in there like one about Mike Rotunda getting his dick mangled by a fence.......oh brother I laughed my ass off at that. It's boring at some points and Animal is clearly the biggest fan of the road warriors but overall it's a good book. No where near Jericho, Foley and Bret though.

There's one particular story in Bret's book that I've always found very memorable regarding Dynamite.
Everybody knows how miserable the guy was. Always acting like a prick and bullying everyone. Dynamite was parked outside Bret's house one day and Bret went out to confront him. Prior to this, Dynamite was threatening his wife and family saying he was going to buy a gun and kill everybody or something like that. Bret said when he went in the car Tom looked just terrible. Dynamite continued his usual tough-guy talk when all of a sudden he leaned over the steering wheel and began crying like a baby. He told Bret that he was broke and that his career was over due to his injuries. Also, his wife left him a one-way plane ticket back to England and told him never to come back.
Bret knew first-hand how horrible of a person he was, but admitted he still felt bad for the guy and was SHOCKED to see him show that kind of emotional weakness. A nasty pitbull of a man who Bret considered the greatest pound-for-pound wrestler ever and here he was bawling like a baby finally showing some remorse.
Bret summed it up perfectly saying, "Dynamite Kid was a perfect example of the old adage 'what goes around comes around.'"

If Dynamite didn't get hurt, it would have been very interesting to see him be a member of the Hart Foundation back in 1997. particularly, I imagine Shawn Michaels would not be getting away with a lot of crap... Could have been VEEEERY interesting.

There are two things you need to know about him. 1. He's very possibly the greatest in-ring worker of all time. 2. He's scum. The truly scary thing is, people compared Chris Benoit to him back to about 89, before Dynamite REALLY went bad. The way they worked, their build, their overall look. And it continues to the core, Dynamite is crazy and crippled.. and Benoit had a broken brain and did what he did.

He was essentially a Dynamite Kid tribute act.

Dynamite Kid was so far ahead of his time that in his time, he was vastly underrated because no one had any idea how to take him. The Dynamite and Tiger Mask matches still hold up to this day and so few 1980 matches do. Nothing pre-1985 WWF does, not as a "I want to sit and watch this". They did a lot of stuff in those matches that is just now really becoming "normal", like Dynamite simply walking away from a Tiger Mask suicide dive.

But he was completely unoriginal. And hardly any one really uses it as a criticism for him. Those Tiger Mask/DK matches are unbelievable.

There's originality and then there's adaptability, adapting something not original to a new audience. At this point in humanity, there's really no story that hasn't been told at it's lowest base, but the trick to success is taking bits and pieces of other creative endeavors and making something new out of them. The biggest TV show right now is Walking Dead. It's based off of a comic book, taking most of it's stories from there. The comic was mostly adaption of stuff like Dawn of the Dead and 28 Days Later, mixed with a bit of soap opera and actually some pro wrestling stories too. It's all adaption.

I thought the Big Bang Theory was the biggest show right now but I do agree with you.
