Me personally, I think they held Rock back when it pertained to Cena. But again, it's all opinions. Sure, we all stick our head in the sand about things that make us feel better. Personally, I think that secretly Cena can do triple-jump moonsaults and the crispest, most legit-looking STF ever but WWE holds him back from doing it. Why would they hold him back from doing it? I don't know, but I can't handle the idea that he just can't do it so it's easier for me to pretend WWE holds him back. Sounds a bit different than toned down Rock on a Raw mic doesn't it? And obviously your a John Cena fan. And that's all fine and dandy. I'm not really a Rock fan, but I'm calling it like I honestly see it. A bit off topic, but even most heels get cheered in their hometowns. Cena gets booed more in Boston than 95% of other places. Stick your head down in the Cena sand and explain to me why that is. Bottom line is: Cena fans supporters will defend him to no end. He's the "end all be all." But he is protected like no other current wrestler and if CM Punk is suppsedly so much better of a talker and wrestler than Cena, then how in the blue hell did Rock cut much better promos and talk a hell of a lot better against Punk than he did Cena? ^ keywords: protect, Cena

Without question, CM Punk. He was the first one to go out there and legitimately run down everything about John Cena, and everything he said about him still rings true to this day. Everyone else since then who has tried to have a "shoot" promo on Cena has pretty much just piggybacked off of Punk's comments.

If it was Rock 1998 vs Cena I think Rock 1998 would have looked a lot better in all of it, but Rock was out of wrestling for what, 8 years at that point? He was a very different person then, he was Movie Star Dwayne Johnson Rock. THE Rock, pre-catchphrase, pre overproduced cartoon Rock probably could've sparred better with Cena, but this was a different guy. Current Rock was just out there blathering, everyone gave him a pass because of who he is. To be fair, NOBODY owns Cena on the mic. I'm not a fan of the character, but there is no doubt that as tired as his crap gets, when he brings it, he brings it.
Sadly I have to say that Cesaro's promo made me feel legitimate physical pain.

Daniel Bryan's and CM Punks, because there was truth behind their words. The Rock just made silly jokes that didn't have any bearing on reality, or even kayfabe reality. Cena actually killed The Rock mic wise. Cena killed Rock? Bullsh-t. March 5th. 2012 RAW: "Strip it all way and at The Rock's core, The Rock is six-foot-four and two hundred sixty-five pounds of man that will rip your throat out. At your core, you will always be a little boy that will go down in history always as The Rock's bitch." Cena had NOTHING on that level. Hell, even Cena's rebuttal right after Rock left the ring wasn't anywhere near that. All Cena had was the same "THIS IS ALL I'VE GOT" sh-t we've heard a million times and lame jokes about YOU'RE THE TOOTH FAIRY ROCK. Granted, Rock had FRUITY PEBBLES~ but that one quote above > everything Cena said going into WM XXVIII.

I remember Triple H one time saying, it might have been the WM22 press conference "Forgive me if I'm not afraid of the guy whose one big move is pumping up his Reeboks. You happen to not be a very good wrestler". This was when Cena was the WWE Champion.
