I'm up in the North Jersey/ Paramus area, holler to all my wfers out there, anyways more often than not the Targets here are abysmal,Elites are rarity to be seen, the Toys R Us are alright but suffer from BOPPV's clogging most of the shelves. I've been trying to figure out when they stock the shelves, and what the best time is, in other words I have to figure out what the scalpers are doing so I can beat them at their own game and even better run into them and cut a decent promo on them cause I could really careless about shooting on someone.
I usually try Tuesday's and Thursday but no luck =[[

TRU trucks are nornally Wednesday and Saturday mornings in Rockland & Bergen county. My local Targets in Rockland get trucks on Mon/Wed/Fri.WalMarts I don't bother with because one is located right in front of Rockland & North Jersey's biggest scalper site's warehouse so it's always cherry picked. And the other is 24 hours and picked clean 90% of the time overnight.

Stand in front of Toys R Us every morning till you find what you're looking for.

If they have a connection at the store you will never beat them. Yep, sad but true. I have that problem. A certain someone in mg area has an overnight job, I've seen him at this 24 hour place and damn near facepalmed when I did, so I'm never gonna find stuff at Walmart, nor the Target down the street as I am getting ready to go to work while he's getting off and running around. Also, he's connected. One of the losers at TRU hides stuff despite being reported before.

I went to TRU monday because i heard of the Brock thing...wasn't entirely sure what was going on. So i did it old school and went....nothing but last year's WM30 figs and a few OTHER old figs...even the elites were old. at least half of what they had in stock was the BAF teddy long (or Booker T) series. Funny part was, the same figures were there 3 months ago when i went to check stuff out. Waste of gas but a good excuse to warm my 98 caddy up. lol

You guys are crazy lol. Why go thru all of this trouble when you can just order from ringside for not so much more. You cant beat scalpers even if you tried.... Truck schedules are different in every part of the country and unless your willing to go these stores every day and/or outright buy employees out, which just isn't worth the time, money and/or gas, than just order from ringside man... The formula is pretty simple. Take your hourly wage at your job, apply that to how much time you waste looking for these things, add the gas. That's how much time (in $$$) you waste looking for figures you can simply buy from ringside or even amazon for a few dollars more. You guys should think about using time more efficiently and not waste time you could be using to actually make money (like working a second job to not only cover the extra cost of the figures but end up with MORE money). I'm not trying to rant you guys (which I guess I am) but some of you spend WAAAY too much time coming up with tricks and what not, when the easiest thing to do is RIGHT in front of your eyes. And for you guys just stopping on the way home or checking the stores when your already in the stores, keep doing your thing. But your retail junkies going to these stores all the time need to wake up and smell the coffee... The OP wants to know how to beat scalpers.... YOU CANT BEAT SCALPERS!!!! SmithyPlayz - im just dying to know your so called solution... PM me AND I MIGHT tell you if your on the right track....

Targets in bigger towns get trucks nightly. I used to work overnights and we got something like 350 trucks a year at mine.

The whole "scalper" thing is soooooo overblown. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but if it was happening to the degree that people on here claim, eBay would be flooded with the more disired figures and they aren't. It's just silly to jump to the assumption that it MUST be a scalper since you couldn't find it on the first go around.

Ask the store when there truck is. If they say random shipments, ask what time everything from the truck is on the floor. Or wait outside everyday.

I am forty now so twenty years as an adult. Most of the time it is just other collectors beating you to the punch. Scalpers are still big in hot wheels and in the mid ninties with Star Wars stuff, which is where they earned the reputation they have today.

I've given up looking at retail. I order online now. If I go out and see a figure I wanted, cool, but I'm not going to waste my time looking.
One example was while waiting for E22, I went to Target everyday for a week and a half because that's where they were at, I missed one day, they put them out and I missed Giant and Sandow. The only reason I look now is for the Wisconsin Figure Findings thread. I don't mind spend a few bucks more to get the figures I want.
