www.eonline.com/news/571490/chris-pratt-visits-children-s-hospital-los-angeles-in-costume-as-star-lord-from-guardians-of-the-galaxy?cmpid=tweol-manualWith so many egos, attitudes, and selfishness in this industry, it is refreshing to see people legitimately want to do good. Pratt said before GotG even opened, that this was his #1 reason for wanting the role, was to be able to do this. And now he's doing it. The dude talks about his faith often, and walks the walk on top of that. Something that even, as a Christian myself, admit that many of us, though called to do so, rarely make the time to do. His weight loss is respectable, and he supports fans who talk to him about how it was done. He makes time for kids, and just seems to be an all around good dude. One of my top interests, and hopes when it comes to filmmaking is to be able to allow kids who are sick to come and get on set, and see how movies are made. I haven't heard of Make A Wish doing this much, but I'll damn sure reach out to them, as soon as I have the level of celebrity it might warrant. If I found out I were dying, one of my top "wishes" even at 26, would be to get to call action/cut on a 'legit' studio movie set. I can only hope to be able to do that for kids who might share that dream, someday. You have to want to do good for people, if you can. Chris Pratt is boss. Feel free to share other stories you've heard of celebrities being awesome. We get enough noise about negativity, and bad things celebrities have done. Let's get some POSITIVITY up in here...

For all the self centered pricks that are in Hollywood, it's cool when you see guys like Pratt who want to do good with their fame, and actually enjoy getting to do it. From what I can tell from him too, he's just a cool, down to earth guy.
And I remember that deal with Perlman dressing up like Hellboy. With the time it takes to do that Hellboy make-up, that's no small feat to do, and to do it just to bring a smile to a kids face, is very cool.
another one to add to is Tom Hanks meeting with an autistic fan, who had created a scrapbook dedicated to him

He's pretty rad. I'm very excited to see him in Jurassic World next summer.

Reminds me of how Depp always travels with his Jack Sparrow costume just incase.

And this is the one time I think we can all mention John Cena on this board, and have no distaste for him whatsoever...
The dude recently crossed 400 MaW wishes...that's INSANE.
I'm not a fan of his character on TV, but what he does off-screen for these kids, and their families, he earns nothing but respect from me.

Love him as Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation, GOTG (which I'm seeing again tonight) and this is just awesome news to hear, what a great guy.

He just seems like one of the people who does acting because he genuinely loves it and just doesn't do it because he's good at it and can bring in a ton of money much like some WWE Superstars like Ryder, Bryan, and even Ziggler and Miz

Reminds me of how Depp always travels with his Jack Sparrow costume just incase. How would the Studio let him keep the Costume? Like they could say no to Depp. Without Johnny Depps 'Jack Sparrow' they have nothing.. They literally built the franchise around Depp and that character.. I didn't watch the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movies to see Orlando Bloom and Keith Richards, that's for damn sure. And I'm pretty sure Johnny Depp could pay someone to make a costume for him, without literally taking the studio one home with him.

And I'm pretty sure Johnny Depp could pay someone to make a costume for him, without literally taking the studio one home with him. There were at LEAST 7 copies of that costume made. At least. At my level, we tend to MAYBE have 2 copies of the most important wardrobe for a character. If we're lucky. But when you're on that level, a dirt smudge can ruin continuity. He has to be able to change quickly, if needed. At the end of the shoot, all the sh*t that can't be reused is boxed up, inventoried, and seriously stored in giant warehouses, usually to never se the light of day, again. *Edit* and by at least 7 copies, I mean immaculate copies. No purposeful burns/dirt/damage to them. There were probably 2-3 more like that. Which is why you'll usually see stuff come up from these movies as fundraiser items. It's then a tax write off for the company, and -- they don't have to store it. It would have been nothing to let Depp take one, especially since they had numerous costumes from (now) 4 movies...and even if the studio wouldn't let one go. With it being Johnny Depp -- I'm willing to wager the costume designer was happy to whip one up for him. As Word said -- it's Johnny Depp. There aren't many people who say 'no' to Johnny Depp.
