Try being a collector anywhere in the world but the US or UK. Prices are ridiculously high. I down-sized my collection but I'm thinking about selling it off completely.

So you created an account 3 days ago and got 50 posts just to sell your collection? If so then this should go in the classifieds.

Elites were 20.49 Euro a year ago, then 21.99 Euro and finally 22.99 Euro at present. Thats the cheapest new elite prices with some reatailers now at 24.99 Euro. Getting pricey now thats why its nearly cheaper on ringside for me to import them
The retailer are buying from RSC so its just their greed putting them up really

I've cut back or stopped collecting a few times to save money but never sold anything to make money back.
I have a huge Star Wars Hasbro collection but haven't added to it in 4 years. It got too expensive to find figures and retailers stopped carrying most of them. I don't plan to ever go back and get what I've missed but I'm keeping what I already have.

Buying a case of 8 posted over here works out at 20 dollars per figure thats about 16-16.50 Euro Shops would be buying in 20+ cases which would make the combined postage cheaper to the point where figures are costing 17 dollars or 13-13.50 Euro I haven't even valued in using a 10% discount on RSC which they of course use like everyone else. So there is almost a 10 Euro mark up per figure even more in some cases If we are going to get specific its about a 70% price hike That to me is senseless inflation pushed up because of greed

Do you know how much time and effort goes into acquiring some of this stuff. I don't walk down the street and boom, there's my figure. All those 50-60 mile car trips to find one god damn figure and most of the time it's for naught. Add all that wasted energy to the average figure price.

Regarding cost of figures, they are pretty much in line, and often better value, with other toys especially retail. I buy stuff for my Son and Daughter, trust me even WWE Elites are cheap compared to the other stuff out there (Barbie, Trash Pack, Knex etc).
The real issue is availability. Even in the UK we are going to have to pay a bit more to get stuff not readily available. Unfortunately that comes with collecting.

I did. Had just about everything at one point through e23 or 24, including basics, bps, legends, exclusives. Space and cost....now I just have a few MOC pieces left.

I doubt elites will get cheaper. I quit a while back cuz they got too expensive but mattel just makes too many great figs to stay out of the gm.
