This thread was created for the sole purpose to post/share/discuss the tryouts and one-off matches of independent wrestlers in the WWE (and TNA). Seeing how far they've come over the years.
I'll kick things off with a few.
CM Punk vs. Val Venis - 2005
CM Punk & Chad Collyer vs. Simon Dean & Maven - 2005
Bryan Danielson vs. John Cena - 2003
Daniel Bryan vs. Chris Jericho - 2010
Jon Moxley & Dean Taylor vs. MNM - 2006
Jon Moxley's TNA Tryout - 200?
What others do you guys have?
I know Generico had a tryout with TNA. Is there any footage of that? I was gonna post Kazarian's Velocity match, but decided against it. Haha

Taka Michinoku vs. TIJARI (lol) I don't think I've ever seen that match! Thanks for posting johnnyb! Tajiri was such a steal for ECW. Both guys were well ahead of their time at this point. Much like Japan usually is.

Taka Michinoku vs. TIJARI (lol) IIRC, this was an opening round match in the Light Heavyweight Championship tournament. The match in question was on the October 20th, 1997 RAW.

The Naturals & Luke Hawx vs. Big Show
Three talented guys from TNA that wanted to get out and go to the big leagues. Still shocked the WWE didn't sign Douglas and Stevens. Both guys would've been great in SmackDown's already great tag team division. Hell, Hawx would've been a nice addition to the Cruiserweight division, as well.

that jericho/bryan match is damn solid...quite the bump bryan took into the announce table, as well.

Bryan knew he had to impress and stand out in his first match and boy did he ever...

Bryan knew he had to impress and stand out in his first match and boy did he ever... Chris Jericho mentioned on Talk Is Jericho that after his match with Daniel Bryan, he went to Vince McMahon and told him Bryan is going to be a star. Man, Jericho was right on the money.

The whole first season of NXT seems fishy to me. I still wonder if Bryan actually lost that early, or if they had bigger and better things planned for him... before the tie incident.
