I'd get laughed at if I asked for a raise.

I got a whopping 25 cent per hour raise this year. I get a raise once a year. That amount usually ends up being useless because the cost of benefits increases each year, thus killing the point of the raise.
I need to find another job.

Dude, I've worked at my job for 2 years and I haven't got a single penny more. The only reason I stay is, the schedule is flexible and it's very close by my home.

I guess it all depends on where you work. I've never had a job where I could ask for a raise. Raises for me were either owed per some contract, or taken by me for increased work.

I can't ask for a raise either, all depends on my annual performance.
