Hey guys,
About two weeks ago, I happened to pick up a great condition used Panasonic VCR at a garage sale for $3. Unfortunately, I had to buy the original remote off eBay, but that's ok. I just got it hooked up and it works perfectly. I just took all my old wrestling tapes out of storage and am making my rounds through them.
Earlier on today, I watched the original Coliseum Video 1992 WWF Royal Rumble tape and it was awesome. I think that's probably the ONLY way you will see everything in it's original, unedited fashion. I'm sure even on the WWE Network, you will see some edits of some kind of that event.
But anyway, back on the question at hand. Do you guys still use a VCR??
I realize it's outdated technology, but that doesn't mean you can't still get some use and enjoyment out of it. I haven't had a VCR in years, but am enjoying the hell out of this new/used one I just got. I'm currently watching the original WWF SummerSlam '88 tape and man, it brings back good memories.
WWE can update it and put it on DVD or Blu-Ray or put that event on the WWE Network, but it just isn't the same. As I said, I'm sure there will be edits of some sort, whether it's logo's, the commentary, signs in the crowd or dubbed over music. NOTHING will beat the original version. If they are going to butcher it, I'd rather stick with the original, to what I remember. Not this edited, dubbed over garbage. I can't stand that when they do that.
Anyway, I'm just rambling on and on here and that really wasn't my intention. I just wanted to find out if you guys still used a VCR or not. So, how about it?? How many here still use a VCR??
