17 years to the day that Kane arrived in the World Wrestling Federation.

17 minutes to the time you posted this.
Kane has had a great longevity over his time in the WWE and has put on some enjoyable feuds and matches. Congrats to him for 17 years as the 'Kane' character.

Congrats to Kane, but his character is pretty much dead at this point. Dress pants and elbow pads yeah Corporate Kane sucks.

I remember when there was the lead up to the WrestleMania match with Undertaker, I heard some people were talking how the character was just brought in for a fresh feud for Taker. Then once the feud was over, Kane was going to just disappear. Now it's 2014, and he's outlasted most of the roster during the time of his debut.

Kane WAS awesome. Just a shame they had no idea how to utilise him properly for a prolonged period of time.

Kudos to Jim Cornette for giving him a great way to debut at Bad Blood by ripping off the door to the cell.
Initially, a brilliant visage of a hulking, monster heel...these days, not so much, but kudos also to Glen Jacobs for his longevity in the business, and did the best he could with the Kane character over the years.

Yeah yeah, Kane is good and everything, but what we all really want to know is how many years since he debuted as fake Diesel?!

My 3rd favorite debut behind Taker's/Jericho's.

One of/if not the best introductions of a character ever. Really glad he's still around.
Happy 17 years Kane!

It's a great testament to Kane that he's lasted this long. A lot of people thought he was just brought in to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania, but he's lasted long, stayed relevant and survived some terrible angles. Kane gets a TON of crap to work with like Katie Vick, May 19th and more but he's done well. I especially love his tag team work whether it's with Undertaker, Hurricane, RVD, Daniel Bryan, X-Pac and others.

One of my all time favorites, Kane's probably the most useful hand Vince has had, considering while not every role he's been given was a good one, Kane has always given the best possible performance in that role.

Kane debuted today. But he was also fake diesel. He's been wrestling for a looooong time. I think it may be time to hang up the boots.

I was one of the few fake Diesel fans out there, so I loved the fact he got rebooted as Kane.
But in my opinion, he may be the most mismanaged talent in WWE history. Very seldom was he ever booked to be the legit monster he should have been. And far too many can claim to have defeated Kane in a high profiled match. He should have been booked more like a masked psychopath and less like a welcome mat.

One thing that get's overlooked is how they teased Kane in the Spring of 1997. If it wasn't for The Undertaker, Glen Jacobs would have never be given the Kane persona.

I feel like this video is necessary for great nostalgia. I was only 2 years old during his debut, but I can only imagine the eeriness that was in the atmosphere at the time. From 2004-now, Kane has been horribly booked, like marino13 said. Kane is without a doubt a future Hall of Famer. His 1997-2001 run will always be one of my favorite runs for a WWE superstar, right along with Summer of Punk.

He's had a good run but the only time I ever really enjoyed him was his run tagging with Bryan.
