The clown was really the only thing that I think sucked me in. The picnic scene was out of control. The Evan Peters crab hands sex scene was pretty revolting, so points for that. I'm not particularly interested in the story yet though, which is probably the major drawback from the episode for me. I thought Paulson was pretty great. I can see the dialogue between the two heads getting pretty awesome as the season moves on. She seems like she's the star of the show. Not sure if I will stick with this but I didn't mind catching the first episode.

The first half was incredibly dull. The second half was better, but still not by much

I am for sure watching this later today.
I am not expecting much since IGN gave it a 7.5 although Goldderby said that Lange may already have her Emmy episode for next year so that is a big endorsement.

I've only seen seasons 1 & 2. I'm desperately eating for them to upload season 3 to Netflix so I can catch up. Great show.

My biggest problem with the first episode was that it wasn't scary. Don't get me started on the clown. That's PG13 all day.
And if a show chooses to depict human "oddities" as scary, save me the "we're not freaks, we're not monsters" story line. When the show clearly is depicting them as freakish, murderous, sex-crazed monsters.

Is this show worth following? I've seen clips here and there but I've never watched an entire episode. I do love horror though. Is this like a horror movie stretched out into a series? Or is this more of a Drama with horror tones?

Or is this more of a Drama with horror tones? Every season is a new story but the cast remains the same for the most part. The 1st season takes place in a haunted house in present time, the 2nd season is in an insane asylum in like the 60's, season 3 is about witches and switches from present day to the past and the newest season is at a freakshow in the 50's. It's worth watching it. When you have the time sit down and watch the other seasons

Basically is it Quantam Leap, a show in which time travel and dimensional travel is used to move along drama? Or is it like the Walking Dead where it is a Horror movie stretched out into a show, a show where the horror aspect is center stage at all times?

It's sorta like walking dead where it's a horror movie stretched out you can say. But it's really good, especially the first season

Anyone else disappointed by this season? Outside of Twisty, this season is really bad

Anyone else disappointed by this season? Outside of Twisty, this season is really bad I found myself really disinterested in the first two episodes, not sure why. I've always sort of placed American Horror Story and The Walking Dead on the same scale in my head, because they came around into prominence within a year of each other (and really, TWD hype didn't pick up until the second season), and because they're the two "mainstream" and wildly popular horror shows. I've always loved them both, and found that, during given weeks, they could trade off in terms of quality. Of course The Walking Dead has the advantage at the start of each season because it's picking up where it left off, whereas AHS is starting fresh, but regardless, TWD has knocked it out of the park the last two weeks, whereas AHS seems a little flat.

Anyone else disappointed by this season? Outside of Twisty, this season is really bad I find this season just as unbearable as season 3. I didn't even see the last two episodes of season 3 and I'm done watching this season. The overly long episodes also hurt a lot.

It's too light on the "horror story." Scary clown and people with disabilities. That's what we have. I'm a little interested in that crazy kid. I'm hanging in at the moment...by a thread.

So far I think the cover songs have been the best part of the show. I'm going to try to stick with it. I quit season two after three episodes.

They have been throwing the cover songs up on iTunes. Seems like a desperate money grab knowing this is Langes last season. Since you quit last season, you missed a few painful musical performances.

It is from the creator of glee..so not surprised at the money grab through musical numbers thrown on iTunes *no disrespect to the beauty that is Jenna Ushkowitz of course

Ah, I wasn't aware of the glee connection. I never got into the show. I saw, maybe, 2 or 3 episodes.
