There used to be an official thread stickied but I couldn't find it. So kindly move this there if it still exists.
I'm starting to really hate this show. If it wasn't for seeing the divas dressed like hookers 90% of the time and going to pole dancing classes, I would have stopped watching. But I'm a huge wrestling fan and usually watch anything that pertains to it. Especially shows that get my wife interested in it.
Why do they keep acting like and saying that Bryan isn't getting paid while he is out with his injuries? Isn't he still under a contract that pays him his guaranteed base? No he's not getting any draws from events but he's still selling merch.
Also, they are starting to let hints of keyfabe get in the way of which is supposed to be "reality."
I also can't understand how or why Brie and Bryan have to go shop for used appliances.
I'm bored at work and this stuff has been bothering me. Sorry if it sounds a little uneducated pertaining to DBry's pay but some of that contract has to be guaranteed barring an injury right? WWE and Vince have been accused of a lot of things over the years, but one thing they are good at is taking care of their own. Sending a former star to rehab 11 times and paying for it when that star is no good to you anymore is a huge example of that. Just trying to start a discussion...

I agree. I tried to get into it, but there are just way too many inconsistencies. Brie & Bryan being broke was the straw that broke the camel's back in my view. It's way too unrealistic and it paints WWE in a negative light.
The show has also made me a much less of a fan of Natalya. I used to respect her and she was one of the reason I gave the show a try. But she comes across like a F'n goof more often than not. All the women do. Once they show a redeeming quality, they ruin it by acting like spoiled self entitled brats.
And I hate Cameron so much that I tune out when she is on. There is nothing about her that makes me like her or respect WWE for hiring her. Get her off my TV!
/my rant

He does, but it's a fake TV show, so in the Total Diva world he doesn't.

If you don't like Total Divas, it is called finding something else to watch. I ended up watching it this past Sunday and I loved the kayfabe nature Total Divas has. Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella come off as sympathetic people who you can convey their struggles. I have mentioned this so many times, Total Divas isn't geared towards wrestling fans.

I watch it, and I used to really enjoy it. Now it's moreso out of habit than it is out of enjoyment. It still has its moments, but the Bryan/Brie situation is definitely weird. It's sort of insulting to the intelligence of anyone who watches wrestling, since we all know it's not true at all, but for those who don't, it makes WWE look like crap. Just take a look at Facebook comments regarding the show. People that think it's real think WWE is a horrible company for not taking care of Brie and Bryan. It's just a weird angle to take. And, yeah, I can even find some redeemable moments for Eva Marie in the show, but Cameron/Ariane just sucks. At everything.

It's really funny because they get paid to be on Total Divas, so obviously Brie and Bryan are no where near broke. Stupid reality shows.

I had a thread on here a few weeks back regarding the Brie and Bryan situation. And where as it does insult us - the true wrestling fan - on Facebook so many girls who watch the show because it's a reality show on E! Network actually believed that it was all real.
They don't watch Raw, Smackdown or the PPVs, they watch Total Divas. So to them, the WWE really isn't giving Bryan or Brie money, and they had to look for a part time job, or a second career option to make it as a married couple.
Those fans - the girls who watch it and believe it all - are actually making kayfabe come back in a way.

I have never watched it precisely for all the reasons mentioned in this thread. I knew it would basically be all scripted fake drama, and make me hate the characters more than I do already. It's bad enough it bleeds over into RAW. I don't understand why people watch it. It's possible to love wrestling, and not eat every piece of crap they give you.

I think I watched half of the first season and never saw anything that made me want to keep watching.
It's like an alternate reality but not a reality I'm interested in. I'd love an unscripted Divas show that showed what happens behind the scenes but I figure that would be too boring for a network to make into a show so we get cat fights and people acting like children.
How has there not been a crossover with the Kardashians yet?
I know the show has many fans and I think that's great and in no way think negatively of anyone who does like it. It doesn't hurt whether I like the rest of WWE though since I don't follow TD's so no harm done as far as I'm concerned.

I just watch for Nattie and Tyson. Naomi and Random Uso is also there.
But I agree, the blended mix of kayfabe and real stuff is confusing after awhile.

Well my wife loves the Kardashians, Real Housewives, etc and is starting to hate Total Divas too, And if you love the kayfabe nature of it, why call it a reality show? If it was mostly keyfabe, then Cena wouldn't be such a dull, miserable prick on it.

It's like RAW or SmackDown! but without the wrestling.
Fiction presented as reality.
Don't look into it too much.

You have to remember, not every show on TV is meant for everybody. Total Divas is one of those shows that is meant for a small audience. If you do a survey of 2,000 wrestling fans, you would be hard pressed to see that not every wrestling fan (both hardcore and casual) watches Total Divas on a consistent basis. If Total Divas isn't doing it for you, there are other shows to watch on Sunday nights. The term "reality" for reality TV is very blurry. Most reality shows are scripted and the drama illicit's the rates they get. I hope you and your wife find's something good to watch on a Sunday night.

Yeah.. a lot of those little things are annoying. I still don't get why is this the best "behind the scenes" program. I just wish they could always be out of character outside the actual wrestling events and such.

I just wish they could always be out of character outside the actual wrestling events and such. Say goodbye to Kayfabe-izzle! its just kind of silly these days. It was one thing when there was no internet, or docs, social networking, or shows like Total Divas... Being in character for those things is just silly and comes across as desperate. It's ok that its "fake," people don't expect Chris Evans to act like Captain America in interviews.
