howdy y'all
Just wanted to pick your brains a bit about the SS 1998 Triple figure that recently came out in basic. Based on your experience with Mattel, what are the chances this figure gets released in Elite? What is the history of basic figures eventually getting the Elite treatment?

I would buy a glossy blue version of that figure in the Elite line.

He'll probably get the elite treatment in a different color scheme somewhere down the road. Basic or not ,that SummerSlam 98 figure is pretty darrn nice. Now that i own it i have to get the RSC Rocky to go with it.......which i was seriously considering skipping until i bought that Triple H.

There's a chance we'll see it down the road, but I don't think it's too probable. I'd like the next flashback HHH to be either a 97 pre DX or WM2000.

Unfortunately....sadly....(whatever word you want to use).... I don't see an elite of that Summerslam 98 Attire Triple H being made. MDT seems like it really doesn't like releasing the same attires in both lines as it is, let alone ones that were basically a one time special attire. My guess is that if we ever do see another DX 98-99 Triple H, it will probably be some other attire, like either of the ones I posted below Only with the colors inverted, and red being the dominant color.

Great figure in basic form. If they were to go elite with one I would probably get rid of my basic version just because I like elite more but either way its a great fig.

Can't wait for an elite flashback of 99-01 HHH. I was never a fan of his long tights during his early WWF days.

I could actually imagine an elite version down the line but another attire would be nice too.

I suspect they won't do it... I went the custom route. Love it. (Used the SS98 scan and kneepads).

If mattel are going to make another elite Triple H I want it to be this My number one want for Triple H since Mattel announced they had the WWE license. And was the first figure I customized back on Jan 1 2010 when I got a second series 1 Triple H. And it was what I did with my second e2 Triple H as well.

I just thought, what about blue gloved Undertaker? Came out in E23 and then redid him recently in basic for the heritage line I believe. So in essence there could be a possibility of it.
Also, is E23 Triple H based off WM15?

Also, is E23 Triple H based off WM15? Those Undetaker figures are from two different periods. The Basic is SummerSlam 1994 and the Elite is WrestleMania 12. And yes, E23 is supposed to be WM15.

I like the basic figure. I wouldn't mind HHH's next elite to be his purple trunks from WM19.

I'd like a redo as an elite because the basic sucks. Bad parts used, terrible flat color on his tights.

If Mattel was going to do a Triple H from SummerSlam 98 in Elite form and actually do it right, I would buy it. And by that I mean metallic purple tights, correctly sized logos and accurate boots. If it was just going to be the same half-assed job as they did on the Basic figure, then don't bother. The tights on E23 were such a boring choice out of all the cool gear he had during his D-X days that Mattel had to choose from.

If we do, it wouldn't be in purple. I'd prefer and elite with "HHH" on the trunks
