Wait, you mean to tell me you want this look This is pretty much the DM look, which warmed shelves hard. If you want to justify this want for the absolutely hideous entrance coat (which in my opinion looks like something Mr. Sinister would wear) then more power to you. My opinion, we are getting the definitive iconic look with the future grey gloved release. DM Taker shelf warmed because of the price. Trust me, a 98 Taker wouldn't be sitting on the shelves for too long...... At all.

BatTaker and 1998 Taker are very different.

The 98 Taker from Mania 14 should have been the DMs figure we got the first time around. It wasn't, so now we don't have it, and instead we have to wait for Mattel to get around to it.

I personally think that look for the Undertaker is one of his most boring looks ever. I never could stand the BCA version of this either
So happy with the early look choice for this one coming up
Bring on the hate!

Im in the 98 look want wagon, however, Im still getting this one, since, even if I have 2 EG, their gloves are black, not gray, and also, I could make a head swap with this one with one of those SS Heritage takers head and make a WM 13 undertaker. So many possibilities.

We already have the EG Taker, E23 Taker and SS heritage Taker so there was no need for another one from so early in his career. Three figures that cover fall 1990 to fall 1996. If we look at how many figures he has that cover fall 1996 to fall 2002, another six year period, it's also three: Defining Moments, SDCC 2010, Elite 18. So numbers-wise, it's equal. And tons of people want a grey glove elite Undertaker. This also definitely won't be the last Undertaker figure ever. So no, no missed opportunity.

this topic still exists?
I want a 98 Taker. I had the BCA Jakks of it....but seriously....grey gloved Taker is way more important.

I'd rather have the Real Undertaker from 91. That was when the Undertaker was the best, putting people in body bags and being indestructible.

didn't want to bump this up, but i just took this picture. this...this is what I was hoping the WM31 Taker figure would've looked like. and it was certainly doable,as my custom used all Mattel parts.

Instead of Mattel making yet another early 90's Undertaker they should've taken the chance to finally make him in his WM14 attire because a 1998 Undertaker has basically been a dream figure for everyone and we haven't had an accurate one since the BCA days.
We already have the EG Taker, E23 Taker and SS heritage Taker so there was no need for another one from so early in his career. A WM14 Taker would've been an extremely marketable product and the Kane figure itself will fly off the shelves so we could've had a set were both figures sold well like WM30 Bret and Shawn instead of this Undertaker figure possibly warming shelves. I hear what you're saying, bro. But like someone else said, we have a Basic... and now we have an Elite. But then again, it's not like they're gonna stop making Undertaker figures.

Debut Taker was the best choice IMO. EG figures don't even count as far as I'm concerned.

I want an American badass Taker with denim vest, long jeans, bandana, sunglasses, maybe a biker chain, undisputed title and long hair

The long hair, jeans, and denim vest is about three years earlier than the chain and title. That would be an anachronistic mess!
