you're prob thinking of the Lucha Libre USA figures by Playmate These were great IMO. I have all of them except Mark Jindrack. They're more in size with JAKKS DA, but they fit mattel if your just pretend they're huge guys not cruiserweights. Wish they'd put out a 2nd series, or ROH figures are similar but a tad bit smaller so they'd fit with mattel elites.

how do they fair against DAs? is the plastic better or worse, and what's the height difference of them against to Mattel Elites, and TNA ToyBiz figures

Nice scaling pic with Sydistiko.
Sydistiko and Charlie Malice are the only 2 of this series with a smaller mold.
Lizmark, Tinieblas, Carleone and Nova are about DA/DI size.

I have a few of these. And I was lucky enough to find the ring for cheap near me. I personally did not like these. I have one open, the rest are on card. I didnt like them because the one I opened is very top heavy with tiny legs/feet so it's very hard to keep him standing.
Still havnt opened the ring either.

I personally love the line, though some of them are a tad pricey now. London (season 2) Sydistiko holding Puma (aka Manik, season 1) Sydistiko makes me laugh every time I see it.

I actually thought the Lucha Libre USA figures were really good, and I'm surprised how much effort Playmates made with them. Especially considering the surely questionable lifespan of the show, and perhaps doubtful demand that must have been apparent even in the early planning stages. I was impressed by the overall quality and the (presumably deliberate) similarities to RA figures. Remember when these were designed, Jakks were still making WWE figures and were obviously the only real competition, so in my mind it was completely the logical business decision to make them fit in with RAs and attempt to appeal to the Jakks collectors.
I was really disappointed they only made one series, I had high hopes that they might make more ex-WWE/ex-WCW stars in this RA-esque style, maybe even branch out into classic Lucha stars too like La Parka and Psicosis and other guys Jakks never made in CS, if they could work out the legal stuff of course.
