i know spring training numbers are whatever but still...once again the yankees completely baffle my thinking letting David Robertson WALK for NOTHING...a guy who PROVED he could close. to replace with one guy who has hardly ever closed before but was lights out in the 8th inning...and apparently since both Betances & Miller have had average Spring's Girardi is going to play matchup game with his closer. so instead of a guy who could handle it, was young and good enough...we now get 2 question marks almost every game. WHAT THE Yankees have question marks at every other aspect of the team, why should the closer be any different? And as far as Robertson goes.....that was too much money for him. Miller is younger and was willing to accept less money. And Robertson has a weird arm issue. He's gone through periods of elbow/forearm soreness for the last few seasons and he is currently experiencing it again with the White Sox and they aren't even out of Spring Training yet. Of all the things that are going to make or break the Yankees this season, I don't think not having David Robertson is going to be it. I think the starting rotation, age, and lack of hitting is going to sink this ship long before the 9th inning even matters.

Kinda hoping the Tigers pick up Wandy Rodriguez and move Simon into a long relief role. I'd love to get a half-decent left-handed number four starter. T R W Any thoughts on Wandy's release? Did he just fall off a cliff? I remember the Tigers being involved in his trade talk before they got Fister a few years ago when he ended up in Pittsburgh.

I remember when he signed I thought, "Wow, Sox have Sale and Shark, Tigers will have three very good pitchers, Indians have Kluber, Royals (had) Shields (and right now a really good bullpen), and now the Twins have a decent 1-2 with Hughes and Santana. Pretty interesting." Now that's gone.

I'm not sure but I don't think he was looking too good. And we just traded for more pitching. Honestly this is a tank year so it doesn't really matter.
