The point of this thread is to share your non-toy collections. Why do you collect what you collect? (although if you, for example, are like, "I collect Bart Simpson stuff," feel free to include any toys along with other misc merch. @monoxide23 *hint*) Also, I know there is a lower trafficked "collectables thread" where this could sort of go, but I was hoping to catch more attention here from people who collect things that aren't strictly speaking "collectables." On top of my toy collection, which spans many different lines, and really just anything that catches my eye, I collect a lot of different things. My most unique probably being my robot t-shirt or silly sock collections. My biggest is probably my comic and graphic novel collection... each of which I may eventually share with pics, but the one I'm going to post first is... My modest(ish?) belt buckle collection: It's a little collection I've slowly built up over the last few years; really just when one catches my eye. They are a fun bit of "flair" and occasionally a conversation piece. Also, yet another silly form of self expression. So what do you collect? (hats? Bottles? Keys? JC Motors *cough* Old books? Spoons? Pins/Buttons? Vinyl records?) Why? Also, 3000th post!

I wouldn't say I collect them but I have a ton of t shirts, around 90 I think. Why though? I'm not sure. I do wear them all so it's not as if its wasted.

I used to have a huuuuuge collection of superballs when I was a kid because the vending machines had pool-ball ones and I wanted one of each number in both the solid and clear/transparent varieties. Of course they were mixed in with a bunch of other randomly patterned ones so I'd only get the pool ones every 5th time or so. I think I got rid of most of them at this point but I'm pretty sure I did keep one of each pool ball I got; never completed the set though. For some reason, to this day, whenever I see one of those vending machines I'm still tempted to try it.
Now I have mostly anime-related things. Anime DVDs are my biggest collection at around 700-800. It isn't that impressive to add to it anymore since everything is released in seasons, but it is very substantial back from the 3-4 episode per disc era. Runners up would be manga and video games. I also do Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards. And pretty much anything of interest that relates to a show I particularly like.
My other prized collection is my WWE PPV steel chairs. I have almost 50 of them!
I also have way too many t shirts and don't really know why. Probably also around 100. I intended to wear most of them but there are plenty I just don't so I'm thinking I'll donate some to those groups that help injured veterans. Also I have an unworn match card t shirt from every PPV I've been to (around 30, minus Summerslam 2011, last time I'll ever wait until AFTER the show to get it); those are the only ones I bought without the intention to wear and do intend to keep.
Oh, also fitness equipment. I have every increment of dumbbells up to 70 lbs (but most of them are from different sets because I've got them over the years), 9 medicine balls up to 20 lbs, a vintage Schwinn exercycle that works so much better than all the weird gimmicky digital ones, and various gadgets along the lines of the Perfect Pushup.
I don't have a camera other than what's on my laptop so I can't really take pics of anything...

Over the last several years I have stopped collecting most things. I got rid of my collections of action figures, movies, video games, comics, sports cards, and general crap. The only thing I kind of collect now is high end statues like Bowen or Sideshow Collectibles. I only buy 1 or 2 a year because they range in price from $150 - $500. I'm actually finally getting around to setting up a nice display in my man room in December. My wife is going to help me paint, and remodel and setup the display cases, as we haven;t really had the time or money since buying the house. My poor statues have just been sitting in their boxes. I'll definitely be sharing some pictures later in the year when I finish.

I don't collect wrestling figures at all any more. I'll still buy WWF Hasbros if I see them in good condition and cheap, but I've mostly moved on to weird wrestling novelties. I have a Roddy Piper bubblegum soda, Jake the Snake lighter, IWA Mid South energy drink, CM Punk grow towel, Al Snow beanie baby and most recently, a CM Punk plushie.
Other than Funko Pops, I collect DVDs. I'm not even going to say a number because the number that it could vary by is larger than most people would believe I even have. I'll say it's too large to get an accurate count any more. HIGH five figures.

I stopped collecting figures about 11 years ago now. I'm a movie guy. I have well over 700 Blu-Rays and counting (plus another 200+ DVDs or so, but I stopped buying those a while back.)

Comic books, Blu-Rays, knives (mainly Spyderco), art and photo prints/lithographs, autographs of people I really admire, and as of a couple of months ago, I've started a gun collection.
I've been into comics for years, really got into them when the first Alien vs. Predator series was going on. I collect individual issues, I hate waiting for trades or collections.
Blu-Rays, I've roughly got somewhere around 300 of as of now. I've really gotten into old B-movie slashers lately. I also own a region free player, so I have a good deal of imports.
I feel like your living space should reflect who you are, and bare walls make people, to me, come off as uninteresting and having no inspiration around them. As a photographer, I really love looking around my apartment, and seeing that which inspires me on my walls, all around me. These range from photo prints of models, a few celebrities, or movie posters. Most are autographed and framed.
Knives I collect, because I feel that EVERYONE should always have one on them. You never know when you'll need it. A small flashlight too (I'm carrying a Streamlight Stylus Pro right now).
The gun thing, is because I am honestly terrified of home invasions. My first firearm was a Chinese SKS... it's okay, it was a gift. My second is a Sig Sauer "Nightmare" full sized 1911, chambered of course in .45acp. It's my baby, ran me nearly $1300 from the local place I got it. Looking for a Beretta Nano next.

When I worked for Blockbuster, I was all about my movie collection. Then I moved twice & realized I've got way too many.
I wouldn't call it a collection yet, but I've really been diggin vintage cameras. I've had a few for more than 10 years, so if I come across one here or there, I'll pick one up if it's different

A number of things.
I have a nice collection of belt buckles, btw I love that cocky belt buckle. I have a collection of Hats, cowboy boots, die cast cars, money, and trading cards. I use to have a lot of old money but one day I decided to spend an old 10 dollar bill. It was refused, they thought it was counterfeit money so that scared me into thinking I had a bunch of worthless paper so I got rid of my old money. I still have a collection of coins though.

I collect wrestling figures, some Silent Hill stuff, and Bart Simpson stuff.
I've always loved the Simpsons and recently my spark has been reignited. Bart's always been my favorite character and I dunno, feel a connection of sorts with him. I have quite a bit of figures and shirts and what not.
