People say this but what does that mean exactly? Nolan's writing skills aren't on par with his directing and falls flat when it comes to putting his ideas together. His ideas are really cool but unfortunately for every clever idea he comes up with, he sort of sets himself up for failure in that plot holes start popping up, dialogue gets cheesy/ unnecessary, and he has to settle for cop out explanations to tie those ideas together. He's remarkable in the brainstorming department and I love that he challenges the film industry with new concepts; but once the final product comes out, you are ultimately left with your eyes rolling at times. Interstellar was amazing for the first 3/4 but it eventually felt like Nolan didnt know how how to end the film and what we got left with was M Night Shyamalan-esque writing. TDKR and inception was the same way. I watched Inception again recently and couldn't believe how cheesy it was at some points. Id say that's a pretty fair assessment of his work. However I don't really mind a few plot holes here and there. For the most part, most movies have them so I guess I am accustomed to that idea. I just find myself fascinated and entertained by the ideas alone in Nolan films that it doesn't really take away from the overall message or point he's conveying in the story. Needless to say, I cannot wait to see this in 70mm IMAX the way it was intended to be seen.

I enjoyed it. Visually I thought it was stunning, the effects were incredibly. The end I could see being a bit cheesy, but the last hour I was not expecting that ride of events. Overall, definitely worth my time. I'd recommend it. Probably right behind GOTG, The Lego Movie, and Cap on the list of favorite movies of the year.

Just got back from watching this in IMAX 70MM and it was worth driving an hour away and being up this late for. Probably my favorite movie experience in recent memory and the best movie of the year.
I just loved it.
