I wanted to just point something out as World of Warcraft once again disconnects me from the server after a 5 hour server queue, only to put me back in a queue. I'm upset, yes, but I'm trying to be as unbiased as possible. Let's look at all of the AAA title launches this season so far:
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Madden NFL 2015 NBA 2K15 Assassin's Creed: Unity World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor Halo: Master Chief Collection Destiny
I think I just about got them all.
ALL of them have online connectivity for the purpose of multiplayer, micro transactions, or DRM. NBA 2K15 did NOT need to be always online but because of DRM through their virtual currency they are. This being said, how many of these games were you able to play flawlessly without connectivity issues on launch? I think just Madden worked well, although it had a lot of non-online related glitches. NBA 2K15 was unplayable for the first 48 hours, you couldn't connect to HALF of the game modes because they required online. Halo seems to have a ton of online issues, and Destiny had some as well. WoW is getting DDoS'd and their servers cannot handle the sheer amount of people wanting to play. Assassin's Creed is having MANY issues with glitches, bad programming, and online DRM. Call of Duty was able to handle the masses but there were a few unnecessary glitches that needed tidying up. So where does it end? Remember when you'd buy a game on launch and it worked as intended? What the hell is going on with the gaming industry?? I wonder if GTA V and WWE 2K15 are going to have similar issues come Tuesday.

Every game has its issues. Here's the thing most people don't really think about. They can beta test till the cows come home, but say they send out 10,000 beta games. 4,000 report issues. Game drops two months later, and a game like CoD...a million copies are purchased in one day. There is a giant gap between 10,000 and 1,000,000. Just essentially growing pains of every game.

Yeah, I get it. I know it sucks but thats where I question why we have to be consistently connected to servers for some games. NBA 2K15 would've been fine had we not had to constantly be connected to the online. It's a terrible circumstance.

Who did what the best, or the fastest, of your friends? Where do you rank world wide? I don't mind it. You can play offline, just disconnect, but I see no harm in it once bugs get figured out.

And this is why I hate constantly online games for those that do not need it. I really, REALLY hate that "feature" except in World of Warcraft, because that's the only game that comes to mind in which it's necessary. Yet all of these game developers have the really stupid idea that every game needs to be constantly online. Okay, maybe I'm getting off-topic. I'll stop now.

If they are being played on the Xbox One and the PS4 it sort of makes sense, games are relying on multiplayer more and more in the past 10 years, but I think that Destiny is the game that has started online gaming only on a console, campaign online ect.

I don't care how many times I have to say it, Nintendo consoles are far superior to Sony and MSoft ones. They don't nickel and dime you and you get the best games going today released from them on a consistent basis. They sell you a complete game, and add to it after. The way DLC was intended to be done.

The next-gen re-launch of GTA went really well, I think.
