Did anybody get into this show in the late 90s? I had some of the toys but never caught the show. I remember one of the Ghostbusters was a girl and another one was in a wheelchair?
I do recall it being directly related to the "Real Ghostbusters" cartoon and Egon being a regular character. I think he even had a ponytail lol. Anyway, there was an episode where the "Extreme" Ghostbusters teamed up with the "Real" Ghostbusters who came out of retirement which was pretty cool. The episode can be found on YouTube.
Anyway, the intro song was neat too.
Also, anybody know if Real Ghostbusters series will ever get a BluRay release? I'd buy it in a heartbeat along with Batman: The Animated Series, of course.

Yet another thread that makes me wish I could go back and re-live my childhood.

I dunno about BluRay, but I know there's a really nice steel book DVD of The Real Ghostbusters.
At least some people involved in this show really cared about the lineage. I remember the one off episode with the old team coming out of retirement, but I thought it was such a big deal that with Egon as their mentor, they made sure to get Maurice LaMarche involved, not to mention the always quality work on behalf of Billy West, Jason Marsden, and Tara Strong.
A few years ago IDW kicked off a new Ghostbusters comic that sort of rolled all the different adaptations of the franchise into one story. Kylie has a cameo early in the series before becoming a regular down the line.

I used to watch it a bit, but I prefered the Real Ghostbusters by far. I always loved that Egon had blonde hair for some reason.

It took place right after the events of the first movie right? Yeah - their discarded suits weren't properly decontaminated or something and whatever ecto-plasmic residue that was left on them caused them to reanimate as glowing green versions of the guys.
