Target. Put a sign in the manager's office to KEEP THE DAMN SHELVES STOCKED instead of having what WE WANT TO BUY in the stockroom. It's not doing any good back there!!!

As someone who used to work for Target, dealing with rabid collectors was a nightmare. From the constant, borderlining harassing calls to people trying to return items many months later because they couldn't sell it online for profit like they hoped.

Could anyone even explain why these figures were street dated? They're toys of old wrestlers, not spoilers for the latest blockbuster. And plenty of Targets nationwide put them out early and the world didn't end.
Yadda, yadda, crazy collectors, blah blah. I've had people bug me when I worked at a drugstore to go look for whatever item was on special that week or whatever flu med was in demand. This isn't like it's unique to toys or anything. When you work customer service, you deal with the crazies.
On the surface the sign looks like a "manager reserves right to limit item" but the undercurrent is "stop bothering us, we'll do what we want when we want". Because I seem to remember this sign being out for something that wasn't a street date issue before.

Sign should read - We don't really want your money if it requires any extra effort on our part.

Has anyone saw this signage posted at your Target before? Is it new? @shockwayne did your HOF inventory thread start this policy to be posted due to the HOF set?! I finally found the Hall of Fame Set (the boxes were very damaged.. Im a loose collector so it doesnt much matter, but Ive heard many complaints.) Case breakdown 7 3x SCSA 3x Warrior 1x Trish Stratus 8 per case. You forgot sarge. I work there and mine doesn't have the signage up

I usually see these by the Hot Wheels and Marvel figures, toys to them are seeeerious business. Sad to see it with wrestling figures but I do know of a few buzzkillers in my town that NEED to hoard all the exclusives the second they come out. Sign should read - We don't really want your money if it requires any extra effort on our part. or Scalpers Go Home.

They've had that policy for years. But very few stores ever enforce it. I rember those signs back with the target exclusive dcu 9" figures when Hasbro had the DC license.

If Target doesn't want customers to request that items be brought out from the stockroom, then the simple solution would be to NOT have a system that says that items are in the stockroom on the price scanners!
When I ask at Walmart, TRU, Kmart, and they says that they have nothing....that's pretty much game over. When I go to Target and scan something or type in the number for something NOT on the shelves and it says that it is in the stockroom, then I feel it is their obligation to sell me an item that is in the store, baring some sort of street date.
It's as simple as that. If the item is in the store, sell it to me. I don't think I'm being unreasonable here. Maybe stock the shelves better and don't have so much product in the stockroom when the shelves are empty all the time?
Personally, I've never seen these signs, and I've never had an issue at Target. When the scanner says it's in stock and I ask somebody, they go look. I've never had somebody refuse except one lazy guy and I just went and got a manager who forced the same guy to go in the back and get me Elite 22 Sandow and Tensai, lol.
Last year with the TRU Big Book Triple H I saw online that it was in stock so I went to my TRU and it wasn't on the shelves so I showed them the phone and they tried to lie to me, so I bought it online with free in store pickup and then I waited an hour and then the same girl who lied to me had to go in the back and get it for me when I showed her the e-mail that my order was ready for pickup. I was like "Yeah I don't like to be lied to".

Guess you can't mention certain vendors here, but the HOF series is showing up on amazon and other sites now.

I remember signs like this at my local Target back in '95 when Star Wars Power of the Force was getting big. THAT GODDAMN WHITE LEIA WAS SO HARD TO FIND! My mother and I were running around for ever until we found it. I think she cried in joy.

The inventory tracker thread is a great reason why stores do this. Harassing the employees won't get you what you want.
I've worked at target when I was younger and alot of the times we couldn't get a collector something was because we had strict orders that certain items couldn't be opened or certain pallets couldn't be opened to get an item.
Although I'm upset my stores haven't put out the series on the shelves yet, I'll be patient.

I really do hate scalpers, " here let me sell the HOF series for 500 bucks." What a joke, but I'm just glad I got my Trish, that's all I wanted from the series.

I'm surprised by this I work go target and that goes against store policy....reason 106 why I hate this company! Give the guest anything they want now unless it's a collectable item that hasn't made the floor yet? Makes sense!

I think your mistaken I work for target and thier policy is "whatever the guest wants the guest gets" well.......this is the complete opposite
