This question is mainly for those of you that got into collecting late like myself. What is the figure(s) you thought you would never get to add to your collection?
Mine were SDCC Undertaker which I luckily got when RSC had it for $19.99 and I recently finally got E13 FB Edge off the bay.

Brian Pillman. I hated that figure, the frosted curly fries hair, the abundance of them on the shelves...
But four years later, he's in my hands.

I just got started a few months ago, so I'm still picking off the older figures on my want list that I can get on the cheap. At the moment, the figure I don't think I will get to add to my collection is E16 Kevin Nash. I start getting uncomfortable in the $30 to $40 range, so I don't see a E16 Kevin Nash in my collection anytime in my near future.

Wade Barrett's first figure around when it came to retail.
Zack Ryder's first figure, when it was sold for scalper prices online, I found it at WalGreens on X-mas and I was so excited!
Undertaker (Comic-con exclusive), I found it online for about $40, I was happy with the price.
AJ Lee's first figure, It wouldn't ring up at Target, I payed for some candy with it, and the chick didn't notice, so I basically got AJ Lee for free, and it was her first figure! Around when it came out, also when I went to New Mexico, I forced my uncle to go to Wal-Mart and found AJ Lee's elite (around when it came out to), I was so suprised. I just love those moments when you find the figure you've been looking for. ^_^

Tully Blanchard with WWF Tag Team Championship. He rarely showed up on eBay. Finally, I found a Brain Busters package deal.

I'm sure there's more. I got all of these within this past year. The best part is I didn't pay above $33 per fig

2 off the top of my head, they are jakks figures, and i've been collecting for about 10 years but anyway... -Classic superstars 3-pack John Studd with ref shirt. Got this a long time ago on ebay, I remember getting it on my birthday. Still one of my favorite figures in my collection. -Internet Exclusive debut mankind MOC, got this when spam was selling them for like $20. and for a 3rd I just thought of is my custom elite stone cold that came with every piece of cloth clothing mattel released for him and the attitude era and smoking skull belts. It is 100% the best stone cold figure I will ever own in my lifetime. I can cross him off my list haha EDIT: another thing i'd like to add is the 1/500 figure belts, I remember when these hit the stores and I wanted one of the diecast belts so bad but knew I would never find it, seemed like a fantasy to me, now I own 2, the ecw and undisputed. Oh lord...to think what life would be like without ebay...

I only started on Mattel this year and was THRILLED to get Ax, Smash, and Crush for retail price as well as red and black Road Warriors. I have a ton of Jakks figures and still no Crush or red and black LOD.

I've been collecting since day one so I didn't miss out on the chance to buy figures. A couple I didn't appreciate at the time given I didn't know circumstances later on meaning they wouldn't get another figure. The only ones I can think of would be SDCC Undertaker and the RSC Cactus Jack. The Undertaker I got mid-2013 from the boards and Cactus Jack around the same time, the latter I wasn't originally interested in but am glad to have.

Any Mattel really.
I started collecting in 1989 up until around 1997/8. I had 95% of Hasbros (save for maybe 10, which were variants or mail-aways). I had a large portion of LJN figures. Then when Jakks came out I collected the first 6 or 7 series and the first wave of Two-Packs, but at that point I thought their quality was really awful, even at 14 I thought it was bad and didn't want to collect them anymore. This is also coming off of that terrible New Generation era of WWF so it just killed the passion I had for wrestling. So luckily I missed 99% of Jakks. Then when Mattel came around I noticed them in stores for the first 4 and a half years. I would look at them for nostalgia purposes, but never thought I'd collect again. Then around Christmas 2013 / January 2014 I jumped back in and now I'm obsessive about it, like...really obsessive about it. I went from two figures at the start of 2014, to now I have over 200, all within a year.
