Starting with Elite 34, the retail price of Elites here will be £19.99 (which is approx. $30.80). Yikes. How much are they in the US these days? And would you pay $30.80? It's getting to be a pretty expensive hobby...

Australia had to pay $30 for Elites from day one of Mattel and then we didn't get any more after Elite 7. They're supposedly being brought back at some time this year for an even better price, $39.95...

When you think about it, 30 bucks isn't terrible. A single packaged elite costs 10 bucks to ship, and that's just shipping in america. UK shipping costs a whole lot more. No shipping discount they could have would significantly lower the price to shipping a case of figs from China to the UK.

Personally I only collect Flashbacks, so thats only an extra £2 to pay. When you consider Marvel Legends, Neca Aliens are in that price zone too.

Prices seem insane to me in the UK considering the value of the money. I go to England once a year to visit family and I try not to spend any money except for food whilst I'm there

In general, prices for WWE Mattel figures are insane outside of (or when comparing them with) the US.
In Germany (as nothing is available in The Netherlands), these are the current TRU prices:
Elite's --> EUR 25 --> USD 28,50 Basic's --> EUR 15 --> USD 17,- BP's --> EUR 28 --> USD 32,-

Oh dear...my hobby might be coming to an end. The price increases are happening to often they only went up to £17.99 a while back and now a further jump to £19.99?
Not worth it in my opinion.

Oh yeah, it's definitely cheaper than specialist wrestling stores... but £20 for 1 figure is still expensive - especially compared to what the US pay (...$22?). And it just seems the Elite retail price goes up all the time... they are now £7 ($10.75 USD) more than when they first went on sale(!). So far, I've collected every Elite series... I just hope I can keep up with it. Really? God damn it. I better pick up the £5 figures from E32 while I can. ...get yourself to the Smyths in Walsall - they had a whole shelf full of E32 at £5. I imagine at £20 a figure they'll probably be reducing more and more Elites in future - especially the shelf-warmers.

In Canada, after taxes we pay about 30 bucks a figure as well. It definitely adds up.

By a good 2000 km's? Doh... The problem the the strong US dollar ATM. 1.7 to 1.5 in 6 months. And I hope t was Aussie dollars being referenced above, that's Monopoly money..... :-)

Now is cheaper than most times in history to come here for Americans. Not personal to you, but the lack of education on what your currency is worth in general, on this board is startling. Learn more about money, it's important!

Kmart is currently the price leader in the US at $21.99 and Toysrus the cheapest at $16.99. They went down before Christmas and I honestly don't think it will last that much longer.
I don't know about the UK, but America's minimum wage is still $7.25 an hour. If I worked for that kind of wage I'd have to say f*ck it and not collect anymore.
