King of the Ring ‘5
Live! From Key Arena @ Seattle, Washington
Sunday, June 19, 2005
Setting: The stage is set up with an electronic entry way with the King of the Ring logo playing on it until a match entrance. Then the match is shown and the entry way opens up suicide like. The throne and crown and other coronation stuff are off to the left of the entrance way. A huge crown is overhead and there is a huge Oval Tron on the same side as the coronation area.
The Ring itself is the six-sided ring with all black ropes and black steps and ring posts. The commentators are ringside as always.
King of the Ring Tournament – First Round
“Double J” Jeff Jarrett VS. Dallas Hart
[/center]
Double J comes out with his tag team partner, William Regal. Jarrett is decked out in his long white jacket with the blinking J’s, to match his hat and shades that also blink. He has his trustee guitar in hand and hands it to Regal as he does his strut in the middle of the ring. He removes his hat, shades, and coat as the old Hart Foundation music hits. Dallas comes out with the look of determination to make his father proud. He proudly sports his coveted Eagle Championship around his waist. He walks down the ramp and enters the ring. He comes in, removes his belt, and shows off to the fans. As he steps off the turnbuckle, Jarrett attacks him before the bell. The fans begin to boo him right away.
Jarrett sends Hart to the ropes but he reverses it. Dallas drops his head early for a backdrop and pays for it. Jarrett hits a neck breaker then goes up to the second rope. He comes off with a flying punch. He covers for one count then goes right to the reverse chin lock. He flattens to the canvas and lifts his body then drops. He repeats the action then just drags him closer to the ropes. The ref is busy trying to see if Dallas will give it up. Jarrett puts his feet on the ropes to add more pressure on the hold. Dallas flails his legs about but stops as soon as Jarrett drops his legs off. The ref asks him if he is using the ropes but he screams “no” and shakes his head. The ref goes back to checking on Dallas then Jarrett goes back to using the ropes. The ref looks up again but Jarrett is looking innocent. The ropes are moving and the ref continues to ask. Jarrett responds as before. He goes back to the hold and repeats all the same action. The ref looks up and finally breaks the hold. Jarrett slams Dallas’s head on the canvas and begins to argue with the ref. He stands up and turns the ref’s back to Dallas. Meanwhile, Regal comes over and has some sort of guitar wire or something and begins to strangle him. The fans instantly boo this action.
The ref doesn’t catch Regal and Jarrett goes back to the reverse chin lock. Dallas gets the fans behind him and works to his feet. He buries the elbows into the breadbasket. He repeats until the hold is broken. He begins to run for the ropes when Jarrett grabs his hair and brings him back into the headlock. Dallas quickly counters with a back suplex. The fans cheer this action as he makes the cover. He only gets a two count but picks him up and sends him into the ropes. He swings a clothesline but Jarrett ducks. He turns and hits a leapfrog then drops directly to his back for an attempted trip as he runs back. Jarrett jumps over him and hits the opposite ropes. He rolls to his feet then hits a flying reverse elbow. Jarrett is down and Hart drops the leg on him then covers. He turns him over and drops the knee into his back. He pulls up on his chin with his knee in between his shoulders. He looks for a submission but doesn’t get it. He rolls him to his butt then drops the elbow on his skull.
He picks him up and pushes him into the corner. He drives his shoulder into his ribs then whips him into the opposite corner. He charges and runs up his knees then locks his hands around the back of his head. He falls back and hits a monkey flip on Jarrett. He waits on him to get up then kicks him. Double J grabs his foot but just as quickly, Dallas spins backwards and hits a backspin inseguri kick. His heel catches Jarrett in the back of the head and flips him over. He covers him for another near fall then picks him back up. He sends him into the ropes and drop toes him across the second rope. He hits the opposite ropes and jumps through the ropes catching his arms on the ropes and swinging his body around to catch Jarrett right in the mush. Most of you fans know this as the 619. We call this the Calgary Stampede.
Jarrett flips back and is attempting to get up. Dallas quickly scales the ropes and comes off with a missile dropkick. Jarrett quickly side steps him and watches him crash in a heap on the canvas. Dallas gets up and Jarrett kicks his legs out from under him then drops an elbow to his knee. He gets up and repeats it. He repeats it again then signals and locks in the figure-four. The fans quickly get behind Dallas. He fights the hold and is unable to turn it over but instead works his way over to the ropes and forces the break. Jarrett gets up and begins to stomp on his leg. He picks him up and sits him in the corner and kicks him in the solar plexis. He begins to punch on him as well then sends into the far corner. Dallas reverses the whip and follows up almost immediately. Jarrett quickly posts on the top rope and leaps over Dallas as he charges. He strikes the turnbuckle with his chest and is rolled up. He kicks out and Jarrett is completely upset.
Regal is by the timekeeper and picks up the belt and slides it in the ring near Jarrett. He begins to distract the ref on the apron and the ref tries to get him off. Jarrett picks up the belt and waits on Dallas to face him. He nails him with the title and tosses it back out. He picks him up and hits the Stroke then hooks his leg and pulls his tights. The ref turns around and makes the count of 3 sending Jarrett to the Semi-finals.
NEMESIS VS. Night Wolf
Night Wolf comes out first to his dark entrance. He kneels in the middle of the ring and does some sort of ceremony that is new for him. He removes his feather and beads around his neck then waits for his opponent. NEMESIS comes sprinting out as usual and Night Wolf waits for him at the bottom of the ramp. He attacks him right away and begins chopping away at the big man. He buries his knees into his gut several times and drops the elbow to his head while he is hunched over. He sends him into the steel steps with authority and dislodges them. He picks them up and holds them overhead and attempts to smash him with them. He hits a big boot on the steps and send them tumbling away. He blocks the incoming punch then punches back. He sends him into the barricade then kicks him and hits a DDT. The fans love the action and cheer NW.
Night Wolf rolls into the ring and gets on the turnbuckle to show off. NEMESIS gets up and slides into the ring and the bell rings to make the match official. NW goes for a couple punches right away but NEMESIS knocks them away and fires back with his huge paws. He blocks the next one and nails him again. He sends him into the corner and follows with a clothesline in the corner and back hands him as he comes out. He chokes him and the ref is right there to warn him. He threatens the ref then pulls NW out of the corner. He throws him in the air with what was supposed to be a hip toss but is more like hip throw! NW lands far across the ring and gets back up. NEMESIS backhands him again sending him over the top rope. He steps over the top and goes after him.
NEMESIS picks up Night Wolf and sends him into the ring post and steps. (the steps that aren’t dislodged) He backhands him again and brings down an overhead club. He sends him into the barricade bit he reverses it and hits it. He bounces off it and fires back with a clothesline. NW is flat on the floor. NEMESIS picks him up but NW stomps his foot then rakes his eyes. The fans cheer him for these underhanded tactics. He rolls him back in the ring then sends him into a corner. He follows with a Stinger Splash. He fires off his combination of rights, lefts, elbows, and uppercuts, which he calls the Brutality. He hits them very quickly that it even causes damage to NEMESIS. He pulls him out of the corner and signals the end. He sends him into the ropes and attempts to lift him on his shoulder but the weight is too much for him to hold and falls on his face with NEMESIS’s weight on him. The fans all scream “Oh” in unison at the event.
NEMESIS gets up and picks up Night Wolf then grasps his throat after he is on his feet. He tosses him over the top with one hand then follows over the top rope. He backhands him and clubs up the ramp. The ref keeps counting on the two. He grabs him by the throat again and picks up with one hand to execute a choke slam. The ref makes the ten count on both and rings the bell. However, NEMESIS and Night Wolf ignore the bell and continue to fight up the stage. Officials come down and try to break the two up but get nailed for their troubles. NEMESIS grabs him and presses him overhead. He tosses him off the opposite side of the stage than the throne is on. The fans go nuts and a silence follows as they don’t hear a crash or anything. The camera quickly comes over there to reveal, he landed on CONCRETE! Dr. Mindbender is now present and begins to calm his monster down, who wanted to dive onto Night Wolf to add insult to injury. He turns around and leaves. The officials quickly go down to check on Night Wolf.

MC: Michael Cole here with the one and only Big Poppa Pump. Now Scott how do you feel you will fare tonight in the King of the Ring?
SS: Well, Cole, me and my freaks are going to go out there and show Benoit that we mean business. First of all, I will take care of Benoit then I will take out the next man in my way, Double J. After that, the finals is all mine. And the fans will holler because they will hear me. No get the out of my way!
“Crippler” Chris Benoit VS. “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner
Benoit comes out first and awaits Steiner’s entrance with his twins, Chandra and Julia. Once he is out arm in arm with his valets, he steps in the ring and removes his chain hood. He steps in the middle of the ring and stares Benoit eye to eye. They walk away and the bell rings. Both men circle each other like a lion would his pray. They lock up and struggle for position. Benoit is the first to make a move. He grips his arm and spins under his shoulder to form a hammerlock. Steiner ducks under his shoulder to reverse the hold. Benoit does the same to double reverse it. Steiner gets frustrated early, he looks back and elbows him in the face. He holds the arm and hits a fireman’s carry. He keeps the arm in an arm bar. Benoit lies on the mat and turns his feet towards him and kicks him with both feet. He knocks him off of him and rolls to his feet.
Steiner gets to his feet and Benoit begins punching him. He pushes him into the ropes and sends him into the opposite side then hits a back body drop. He waits on him to get up then locks his shoulder under his shoulder and wraps his arms around his neck. He squeezes with all his might looking for either a tap out or a pass out. He squeezes him until he drops to his knees on the canvas. Finally, he releases the hold and drops a few elbows on his shoulder and head. He measures him then stomps him in the face. He drops the elbow and covers for a near fall. He locks in a reverse chin lock and begins to wear him down. Steiner works to his feet, which turns the chin lock into a headlock. Steiner buries his elbows into his sternum. He runs off into the ropes and comes back to the receiving end of a clothesline, which he ducks and hits the opposite ropes. Meanwhile, Benoit hits the ropes as well and the two collide with a devastating double clothesline. The fans yell in unison, “Oh!” Both men are down and the ref lays a count on them.
Steiner gets up after Benoit reaches his feet and the two walk right into each other. Steiner locks his arms around him and takes him over his head with a belly-to-belly suplex. He turns over and hooks the leg for a count of 2. He stands up and clubs him in the back then punches him into a corner. He sends him to another corner and follows up clothesline as he bounces out of it. Benoit drops with an enormous thud, then rolls to his stomach. Steiner jumps on his back and locks his arms on his knees and pulls his chin back for a Steiner Recliner. Benoit fights in the middle of the ring to get his arms loose. He gets one free then begins to work to his knees. Steiner hops up and drops his weight down on his back then goes back to the chin hold. However, Benoit doesn’t allow his arms to get locked and begins working to his knees again. Steiner lets the chin go and jumps up again. Benoit was ready for this and flips around with his knee upraised. Steiner straddles his knee on his way down. He hops up and favors his groin and walks to a corner. He posts on the second rope in order to keep from going down.
Benoit gets to his feet and straightens Steiner up. He begins to chop him across the chest and repeats the vicious onslaught over and over in the corner. Steiner gets angry and pulls Benoit to the corner in his place and chops him. Benoit fires punches out of the corner and Steiner fires back the two circle and continue to exchange blows. Steiner swings a big haymaker but Benoit ducks and locks his arms around his waist and takes him overhead. He rolls to his feet then hits another German suplex. He keeps his hands locked and hits another German then releases him. He puts his thumb across his throat to signal the end and goes to the top rope. He comes off with a flying headbutt but misses as Steiner rolls out of the way. Steiner capitalizes and locks his arms under his and goes for his Butterfly Power bomb. Unfortunately, Benoit isn’t as down as he thought. He grips his arm and rolls out of the hold and locks in a Crippler Cross face. He drops to the canvas and cranks up on his face. Steiner is in the middle of the ring and isn’t going anywhere. He taps out to allow Benoit to advance to the Semi-finals. Benoit will face Double J in the only Semi-final match.

Bo: Bo Jackson here with the Intercontinental Champion, Adam Bomb. Bomb, do you think that the WWF Champion, Bret Hart better look out for the IC champion?
AB: What kind of stupid question is that. You know I used to respect you for what you have done in your career until you asked a dumb question like that. (pause) Nah, I’m just kidding with you man. Of course, I’m ready for the King of the Ring. The Creation of Devastation is ready to dominate the so-called Dark Lord Crash. I defeated him before for this very title that is now draped over my shoulder. Tonight history will repeat itself and I will become the King of the Ring at the end of the night. I like Bret and all and I even like Kurt but when it comes to winning that world title. I’m going to take it. It has been a long time in coming. Take a good look at the next WWF Champion, Adam Bomb!
Adam Bomb VS. Lord Crash
Bomb comes out first with his explosive entrance and proudly wears his coveted Intercontinental Championship. He will be facing a man he defeated at Wrestle Mania for that very title in his first round match. Lord Crash came out in his regal cape and dark light show. He removes his cloak and squares off against Bomb. The two lock up immediately at the bell and Bomb gets the early advantage by planting a knee into his gut. He measures his face as he is bent over and punches him. He punches him again then chops into the corner. He measures him again and hits several forearm blasts. He climbs the ropes and nails him ten times then sends him to the opposite corner.
Lord Crash quickly reverses the whip and sends Bomb to a different corner. He waits then charges and hits a spinning heel kick on him in the corner. He goes over the top rope and lands on his feet. He threatens a fan that is bad mouthing him then slides back in the ring. He drops an elbow across the back of his head while he is down. He stands up quickly then repeats the process. He picks him up and grabs his arm and winds it up. He kicks him in the breadbasket several times while holding his arm. He sends his leg under and around his arm then smacks him in the face with his foot. He releases the arm and puts in a front face lock then hits a suplex. Bomb was ready for this as he hops over his shoulder and attempts a back suplex. Of course, we see the athleticism of LC as he flips over his shoulder as he lifts him up then picks him up and hits a tilt-a-whirl gut buster. He covers him for a near fall.
Lord Crash picks up the fallen Adam Bomb and sends him into the ropes. Bomb reverses the whip and hits a power slam. He hooks the leg and barely gets a one-count. He picks him up and sends him into the ropes and in one motion, turns his back to him, picks him up for a sidewalk slam. He hits the ropes and kicks his foot out to drop a big elbow. He hooks him up for a two-count. He picks him back up and sends into a corner. He follows up with a clothesline. He shoves his the point of his elbow back into his face a couple times then plants some knees into his gut and drops elbows across his head. He pulls out and hits a suplex. He goes to the top and senses victory. He waits on him then comes off with a flying clothesline. He signals the end and sets LC up for a Meltdown. He locks the pump handle and flips him on his shoulder but LC slides off his back and shoves him into the corner. He hits a turning sidekick into the back of his skull, which sends him into the corner again. He grabs his hair and waist of tights then makes a spin and sends him directly through the ropes into the ring post. He pulls him out and brings him into the middle of the ring where he sets him between his legs and lifts him onto his shoulder then drops across his knee for a devastating Crash Bomb. Bomb is finished as Crash merely hooks the leg for the three-count. LC moves onto the FINALS since there is a BYE in the Semi-finals. I’d have to say Lord Crash is the favorite to win the tournament this year.

MC: I‘m joined her by both Kurt Angle and Bret “The Hit Man” Hart. The fans all want to know about your mutual respect for each other and how is it going to be when the two of you clash in probably the most anticipated match in WWF history. Or should I say the most anticipated match series. In a WWF first, you two will compete in an Iron Man Triathlon. You will compete in 3 matches each 30 minutes a piece. All three will have different set of rules testing your limits. The first match which is coming up next will be regular professional rules, the second will be submission rules, the third will be a Last Man Standing contest. I am told that if you two are tied at the end of the three matches it will go to a sudden death. It appears you will compete in the NEW form of professional wrestling with RPW rules. So tell us what is going through your minds?
BH: Well, its no secret that I AM the undisputed World Heavyweight Champion and that I am in no hurry to give up that reign. As far as mutual respect is concerned, lets face it Kurt has wrestled toe to toe against me and he is quite possibly the best wrestler I have ever faced in my entire career. All that aside, Kurt you are not going to walk out of this arena tonight with this championship belt. You will have to maim and kill me to take this title away from me. I‘m defending this title with every last breath in my body. In the end, I‘m going to beat you buddy. I just hope you can accept that you are not and will never be the best in this sport. (pause) I see you‘re laughing so what is so funny?
KA: Well, you are actually. You think I am not the best in this business. Bret Hart, you have heard from even your most devoted fans that I had you beat back at Holiday Bash. I had you at the very first Civil War too.
BH: You NEVER had me at Civil War. You might think you had me at there but you didn‘t. You might even think you had me at Holiday Bash. You didn‘t have me though otherwise YOU would be here with the Undisputed World Championship, now wouldn‘t you?
KA: Okay you have a good point and I don‘t dwell on the past like you do. If I were to do that though, I would say that I was the best long before you were ever the Undisputed Champion. I have won the Olympics in 1996. No man in WWF history have ever done that before. Not even you or Owen Hart. To say that you are the best ever is a slap to my face and tonight you will see that I‘m not going to roll over and take it. You are going to get the match of your life and I‘m not just saying that. You will suffer for all 90 minutes of our wrestling. I will give you a wrestling clinic and take that title and put it where it belongs, around my waist.
BH: Please, Kurt you are so delusional it isn‘t even funny. I have been outy wrestling the best wrestlers before you were even old enough to wrestle. I have defeated the best the WWF has ever had to offer and you are no different. Tonight, you will learn the meaning of the word pain in a whole new way. You will also learn why I am the Best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.
KA: We will have to see about that now won‘t we.
(The two stare each other down as we go to the ring.)
