^This.
To my experience, I prefer Xbox's titles/lines. That being said... I own 3 of the 4 most recent systems from both competitors: PS3, and then Xbox360 and Xbox1.
Xbox 1 has had a few releases that were exclusives, but nothing too special that made me go "man, I'm so glad I chose this vs. PS4" ...Sunset Overdrive was very fun but I do not even own it. I admit bias to XB1 because I had no intent of buying a PS4 at launch or anytime thereafter or not at least until the price drops- a lot, or I win some money or something and binge buy one.
This said... I do not like how small the XB1's hard drive is. Playing offline- or online- that is annoying to me. Installing every game I have in addition to DLC, I'm constantly juggling and uninstalling/reinstalling games. A lot of them are huge, too. Take into account playing offline, you'll be buying most games. I can't answer this, but for DLC/add-on content, which is better for releasing the content for offline play: Sony or Microsoft? I know that add-on content like the RDR Red Dead Nightmare saw case release, or a download card, etc. But without a 'net connection or netplay, I assume PS4 may be better if you can simply connect for downloads and updates since it's free (right?)..... But on my biased end I am an XBL gold member for over 10+ now, and I have gotten some great deals on free games for download (Rayman Legends; Worms: Battlefield; D4: Dark Dreams Never Die; Project Spark; CONTRAST; etc. etc... and then on Xbox360, I have downloaded more free games than I can remember. Though not using the online feature, this would all be moot.
So it comes down to two things IMO: exclusives and what you want out of them for your system, and what type of add-on content do you play- if any- and how easy is it to access without the net should you be unable to get on w/ PS4 and XB1? Exclusives for PS3 were pretty good I have to say... I have more random PS3 games that I own only because they were PS3 exclusives, or Japanese imports without region locks, etc. Right now I still have yet to come into a killer game that is a must-own for either system.... The Resident Evil HD is nice, I really like some of the download content and episodic games, and then Sunset Overdrive was a nice exclusive IMO...but GTA has been the big winner for the next-gen systems for me, and has taken a lot of my time. I'm sure it is just as good on PS4.
PS3 had a ton of exclusives like I said, but I also used it and use it a lot for downloading old PS2/1 games and stuff... so I dunno. Give me a list of some of your favorite games and let us know if you have net access if only for updates or dlc. Then it'd be easier to pick...
I would almost just suggest PS4 if only because you play offline, and the amount of exclusives per console has become more scarce these days with all being multi-party releases...

PS4.
Honestly, my PS4 collects dust. I haven't played it since November. I have more fun with my PS2, N64, and SNES.

I got a PS4 at launch over an XB1 because Microsoft really pissed me off, unfortunately however my XB fanboy friends all got the XB1 so I was the odd man out. I traded in my PS4 for and XB1 so I could play with my friends and honestly I prefer the XB1.

It comes down to what games you like. I have both though and I can say that I use my PS4 tons more than my Xbone. I'd say PS4. Plus, the white console is one of the best looking consoles I've seen.

I have a PS3, the PS4 and the X-BOX1 (Stupid name for a game system IMO) as of right not don't interest me at all.. Sure I won't be able the play Batman Arkham Knights or the new Assassins Creed game for now...I'm going to wait until the price drops and then think about getting a PS4 or X-BOX1

Hold off on both. This gen is in a total drought of good games.

Ps4 is probably the better system and UI, but it doesn't really have any good exclusives yet. The XB1 has some pretty good exclusives right now.

PS4 due to Last of Us and Uncharted 4 (in the future).
Also, Sony gets Quantic Dream games such as Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls which I love.

Hold off on both. This gen is in a total drought of good games. I actually think this gen is suffering from a flood of complainers who gripe about any and everything. The micro-transactions/DLC trend is a bad one, though. I switched from 360 to PS4 and I'm happy with it. It felt like Microsoft was taking gamers for granted.

If you want the system with the best exclusives then get a Wii U or 3DS.
+Free online +Most affordable +Best games +Awesome controller
My Xbox One just collects dust because there's nothing worth playing on it.

PS4 all day long! I'm pissed that Tomb Raider will be a times release thanks to Xbox, but Mircosoft HAVE to do that kind of stuff to stay relevant. Halo has a polluted storyline. The arcs are so bad, they make Final Fantasy Type 0 story look good!

PS4. The only Xbox I loved was the original one, which I still play.

I have no dog in the fight as I have all 3 consoles buthe I have found this gen very disappointing all around.

For both consoles in question, I mean. That's what we get for being early adopters, ya know?
