There's something I need to sound off on a little bit. It used to be that if you went to a WWE event, specifically a major PPV, you could buy an exclusive shirt for that event. It would be a special design, or it would have the match card on the back, whatever. Whenever you wore it in public, people/other fans knew you were at that event. It was my understanding that whatever amount wasn't sold at the venue that night, would be disposed of, or at the very least not resold. I have purchased event shirts back when this was in practice.
Nowadays, with WWE Shop, you can get just about any shirt you want. What could've been a special keepsake for those in Chicago for MITB 2011, with the BITW shirt design, is now an all-too-common shirt logo for CM Punk. Now, instead of "Oh, wow! You went to NXT Rival? How was it?", it's likely to hear - "Oh, no...I bought this on WWE Shop." I just feel it cheapens things for those who spent money for tickets to attend, as well as money for said shirts/merchandise. Oh well.

Pretty sure the CM Punk shirt from MITB 2011 said 7/17/11 - Chicago, IL on the back, or something along those lines. The shirts they sold in the arena were different than the ones WWE sold on Shop.
Do they not do shirts for PPVs anymore? I know I got "The Card" shirt at WM28. I mean sure they sold it online, I think, but why do you want an event shirt from an event you didn't attend? Sans if you collect them I guess.
I just think "Tour Date" shirts are a thing of the past.

Making a shirt for EVERY event and then throwing away what wasn't purchased is an insane amount of money to throw away. PPV's I get (even then, most don't really sell).

At least WWE makes high quality stuff. My AJ Styles shirt feels like it might disintegrate.
Are ROH's better at least? I may order their version.

I really wanted want of those Punk shirts when I was at MITB, but they sold out in no time. As punksnotdead stated, they were slightly different than the ones offered online.

The Punk shirt from MITB was sold out by the time I got in the arena from the media entrance. So that was disappointing. But it's got the show date on it, while the re-release doesn't.
I don't have a problem with them selling the leftovers online. Why throw away perfectly good money? You know if you went to a show or not. That's all that really matters

That's no different that wearing a shirt that says New York or the grand canyon .

But why would someone wear a Grand Canyon shirt?

Yeah...
Same as those kids who don't know who The Ramones are and yet wear the shirts...CBGB's, etc.
It's business, pure and simple.

But why would someone wear a Grand Canyon shirt? They are the same comparison. It was a concert venue.. a land mark... sporting a shirt for something like that shows you support said item... wearing a shirt that was for a specific event should mean you were there. What's the point of having a concert tour shirt if you weren't there. But wearing a CBGB shirt shows you support the club and its history.
