With how WWE's rings now have the LED boards on them, I think it's a great time for Mattel to redesign their rings. Is anybody else just bored with rings they have now? If I were to design one, I wouldn't go Authentic Scale, although those are great, too. I would incorporate some features from it though and combine that with what Mattel makes now. I'm not much a fan of the cloth mats. I do like the removable aprons, turnbuckles, steps, things like that. I would make the ring size somewhere between what we have now from Mattel(which is too small) and the Authentic Scale(which could be considered too big). And I'd also make the LED board on the apron some kind of electronic feature that lights up the show logos or something. Just kind of throwing that out there. I just think Mattel needs to make better and more realistic rings.

Something between the size of Mattels spring and WCT ASR would be ideal to me. As much as I like the ASR it really is huge. As far as the LED board as much as I would like something like that I doubt it will happen. I'm sure some of the customizes on these board might come up with some pretty cool ideas though.

If the asr is 70 now, expect it to double with an led board. things are not cheap. especially if it has a controller to change images

Best bet they put out the same small ring but this time with a sticker that looks like the light board

A ring of any size that has a light up apron will be too pricey for most collectors, which means it's highly unlikely Mattel makes one.
Your best bet is to go the custom route.

We need a 16 x 16 inch ring for our Mattel line. That would be perfect. The LED light apron would be kind of neat in figure form. I think it is possible to do something that looks like that on our rings. Something close to the first Raw entrance stage Mattel gave us. Nothing fancy, just some lights that flicker every so often would look neat.

18x18 rings are pretty much the standard for professional wrestling, most indies use these size rings and wwe has before
We need a 18x18 ring!!

I'd love to see an affordable mid-sized ring similar to the basic ring minus the spring function. *WWE debuts LED apron on main roster*

I'm in the process of turning my ring into a smart ring... This is all hypothetical, but once I add SCIENCE to the ring it will be able to see what figures will be playing with and play those figures music. I've added these Christmas lights and teddy bear eyes to display what it would look like, after I add SCIENCE to it....

The LED board on a wrestling ring looks terrible. And if we do get it from Mattel, expect it to be nothing more than a sticker.
I would love an 18x18 or even 16x16 ring, though.

I was thinking 15x15 would be great, 18x18 would be great too. I wonder if anyone has tried cutting a few standard mattel rings out and attempted this.

I find the LED board stupid. It limits them to hiding weapons under two/three (idk if there is one on the other side.) sides of the ring. That's just my opinion tho. I'm sure some people like it.

I think they were trying to sell it for $300? Looks perfect size to me, not to big, not to small.

I wouldn't expect an actual led board from mattel anytime soon. Addressable Leds are insanely expensive and need a pretty powerfull/expensive controller to play video at a decent rate. To make one yourself can cost close to $150/200.

I design images and videos for display on led signs and seeing how much even a 4ftx2ft sign cost..this would be ridiculous. awesome, but ridiculous
