It's the worst. Enough said.
I'm sure many of you have had it before/have it now. I didn't start getting it until I turned 20. Man, that was a rough year. Spent hundreds of dollars on over the counter products to try and fight it until eventually I found some that helped. A year later all that was left was a few scars but I still get the occasional pimple. I never stopped getting it on my back but it lessened. Actually right now I've broken out bad randomly on my back and it's the worst. I also just got one big cystic pimple on my forehead near an old scar. I'm going to be 22 in a month and hope that's the year where my acne finally decides to fade away and I don't have to rely on the over the counter products I still use in my daily routine just to keep the acne away. The only thing I can take away from the awful experience I had with acne is that having 1 big pimple isn't the end of the world for me anymore. I was going to work everyday with my face looking like a before photo for proactiv. At least it's not that extreme anymore.
So what about you guys? Anybody have experience dealing with this? Maybe people can give advice too, although I'd be surprised if I saw a tip or trick in this thread that I haven't tried.

I'm pretty lucky, as I don't have it on my face. However, my arms...

I'm one of those lucky people who has never been a health freak by any means but has never had acne problems. I will get little tiny breakouts every now on my face and then but it's mostly during the summer after a lot of sweating or something. I feel for you though. I'm very, very thankful I've never had a problem with it.

I had it until about my second year of college.
My back legit looked like Gene Snitsky's. The face wasn't too terrible, but there were often some noticeable whiteheads.
I lost and kept off 100 lbs for almost 3 years now (along with cleaning up my diet [for the most part]{teehee}]), and this has correlated to cleared up skin.
I rarely get face pimples anymore unless I'm pretty stressed out (last one was in December/January). I'll get the occasional back pimple, but the last one was months ago, too.
So, anyway, unsolicited bro advice: assess your diet. Remove some things and see what happens. I know dairy is often labeled an acne catalyst, for instance, and processed sugary crap probably doesn't help too much either.

I exaggerate my acne pretty badly. I do get the occasional pimple, but I treat it as if I broke out like crazy. I'm just extremely insecure about my looks to the point where one minor blemish gets to me.

yeah, I cut out a lot of things when I was getting bad break outs. Cut out fast food, soda, junk food. I've heard the dairy thing before but I didn't cut that out because I stated eating more cereal to replace junk food snacks. Not sure if it helped because I was using a lot of skin care products too but I'm sure it didn't hurt.
my back was doing so well for months, I'm not sure why now it decided to break out. maybe its from sweat because I was sick with high fevers for a week.

I'm 15 years old and my face is ridden with acne a lot. Some days it's not as bad, but others it is. I'm self conscious so it really gets to me, too.
Acne sucks.

My only problem is that when I do break out it's around my mouth and it makes me really self-conscious and paranoid that I look like I've got the herps.

I have acne and it sucks. I usually worry about the acne on my face and what others think of it, which I wish I'd stop doing.

I used to have pretty clear skin with the occassional break out due to oily skin but it got really bad these past few years because I started taking Iodine internally. (I'm a health freak) It apparently kills all the bad stuff in your body..but me being me I didn't keep up with co-supplements to help with the detox and it presented itself as acne. Under my chin and neck are affected the worst..but it's just red spots not actual raised bumps. Tea tree oil really helps. It cleared up my facial acne before I started taking the Iodine.

My sister used to have it bad. Then she took roacutane (?) something sounding like that, and it worked like a charm, but Jesus Christ it also ed her up. Idk weather she overdosed but she's gone different ever since she took it. Weird huh.

I use to have acne and really hated it. I did really over exaggerate though because I didn't have as bad as most people did, but still I hated going to school with a big zit on my face lol it's definitely not fun. My face has cleared up since high school, but I still get a few zits on my back every now and then.

I used to have really bad acne back in high school (10 years ago in June) and nothing I bought in-stores ever worked for me and in most cases made it worse. It didn't start getting manageable until I went to a dermatologist who prescribed me Solodyn (minocycline) that helped reduce them a lot in a little over a week. I was also prescribed some face ointment that would prevent acne scarring (can't remember the name of it though). The dermatologist also told me to get Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash to help keep my skin clean.
Needless to say, I don't need the pills & ointment anymore (I still use the Oil-Free Acne Wash out of habit) and occasionally get a minor breakout every few months or so usually due to stressing out about crap.
I definitely recommend seeing a dermatologist.
