I'm 14 years old and I have no acne or pimples. Hopefully I don't get any in the future.

I had bad acne in high school. I also lived in Hawaii, so the humidity killed my skin.
What I learned from high school to my thirties is that the prescription stuff is too strong. Dries out your skin, which makes acne worse. Go out and get a Dead Sea Salt Soap bar. Salt, man. That's the secret. Another secret is cleaning up your diet. You are what you eat. So if you're eating crap, you're going to look like crap. My skin's pretty flawless right now. Has been since I cleaned up my diet (about ten years ago).

I'm 17 and I've never had acne. I've been getting a few pimples lately but nothing compared to what others have.

I'm one of those lucky people who has never been a health freak by any means but has never had acne problems. I will get little tiny breakouts every now on my face and then but it's mostly during the summer after a lot of sweating or something. I feel for you though. I'm very, very thankful I've never had a problem with it. Same here. But for some reason I pinky break out around my mouth which makes me REALLY self-conscious that I look like I have herpes. But to the OP, I hear that cutting out dairy helps a lot.

Never had a real big issue with Acne when I was a teenager, but once I got older, I would break out right before an important event (attending a wedding, going to a dance, etc.) Something you always see on tv where people break out before a big event and thought it could never happen to you, oh yes indeed it does and it happened plenty of times. Now that I'm older, I thought it would go away, but nope, it keeps coming, although its only one or two small pimples, I still get self conscious that I'm breaking out at the age I'm at.

There is no proof that diet and acne are linked. Also, Roaccutane cleared mine up which dried my skin out crazy...so you're wrong about that as well. The fact is acne is a mystery for the most part.

Different things work for different people. Just sharing my experience, boss. People who don't look at diet first are wasting their time. Proactive and crap on your face is dealing with the symptoms but not the illness...gotta EAT BETTER. Yeah I've heard both sides to arguements regarding whether or not diet effects it but I refuse to believe it doesn't have some impact. It may also depend on the type of acne, who knows. apparently from what I read cystic acne occurs more in young adults if you haven't had outbreaks of regular acne in your teens because the skin starts to stretch less and its easier for pores to clog or something like that. when I do get acne now a days its usually 1 or 2 large inflamed cystic pimples. I have a cream and a face wash I use that works for regular pimples right away but when it comes to the cystic ones It's always been slow and steady. Usually I'll have it for a couple of weeks before it starts to go down in size.

My sister used to have it bad. Then she took roacutane (?) something sounding like that, and it worked like a charm, but Jesus Christ it also ed her up. Idk weather she overdosed but she's gone different ever since she took it. Weird huh. That's what I was prescribed. The potential side effects to it are crazy but it was the best thing for me. My face was never that bad with acne, it's just everything that I was prescribed by the doctor beforehand never worked and so they put me on roaccutaine as like a last resort. I would recommend anyone who suffers from acne to atleast try and get roaccutaine but I think it's got to be a pretty severe case for you to get it because the side effects can be so extreme.

Yeah, when I stared breaking out like crazy at 20/21 I begged my mom to take me to the dermatologist to get put on it but she didn't want to because of the side effects it had on my older brother. I'm still under her insurance so Its not that I was being a man child it's just that I couldn't afford it otherwise But yeah, I took pictures of my face to sorta just document the progress of using different products and looking back at those old photos I shake my head and just can't believe i was able to go to work looking like that. Just clusters of deep cystic gross acne all over my cheeks and forehead. I remember how horrible it made me feel. I remember not wanting to eat anything because I was paranoid everything would give me acne. Thankfully I'm past that now and only get the occasional pimple on my face. This is the worst its been with 2 cystic pimples in probably the last year or so. I used to walk around with my face looking like a before photo for a proactiv commercial, my confidence can handle one or 2 pimples here and there.

it wouldn't be so bad if you just got a pimple and it went away over time but when it leaves bright red marks that don't go away for months then it's a whole other nightmare. I had hyper pigmentation marks that took over a year to fade, now I'm probably going to have 2 more ones from my recent cystic acne.
having crapty skin is the worst man

I had it real bad in middle school. One day for a laugh, I smeared Peter Pan Smooth Peanut Buttet with Honey all over my face as a joke ( we were all watching a scary movie) amd since then, i haven't had it. It either cured it, or My body just stopped fikling my pores with crap.

Recently went to a dermatologist and received anti-biodics for my acne, worked wonders. Face is virtually clear for the first time in years and I couldn't be any happier

I have it on my back and my arms.. don't know how to get rid of it. I'm 20 btw Yeah, my back was bad for a while but it finally seemed to chill out within the last few months. I used murad acne body wash but didn't see results for about a month or so. The downside is murad products, like a lot of acne products, are expensive.
