Welp. Hopefully this leads to a Mattel figure. I was never a fan of Taz as a commentator. If he did leave TNA, oh well. Josh Matthews and Don West are the only ones I could tolerate.
A number of readers sent word that Taz removed all references to TNA on his Twitter account today and asked whether that was a sign of something greater going on. As it turns out, it is. In asking around, we are told that Taz did not come to a planned voice-over session in Nashville, TN this past Thursday as scheduled to do commentary for several weeks of Impact Wrestling.
Sources within TNA claim that pay issues led to Taz effectively refusing to get on his flight from New York. So, the same pay problems that we wrote about over the last few days that have been frustrating TNA wrestlers for weeks was obviously a factor.
Josh Mathews handled the commentary alone for the episode that will air this Friday but that could change as TNA has until Thursday to hand the episode into Destination America. TNA also gave Al Snow a tryout as an announcer recently.

Moments ago, TNA head of talent relations John Gaburick confirmed via Twitter that 6-year TNA color announcer and ECW legend Tazz is no longer with the company.
After wrapping up his in-ring career at the turn of the century, the two-time ECW Heavyweight Champion began appearing as an occasional part of the Monday Night RAW commentary team. When WWE debuted its Smackdown brand in 2002, he became the full-time voice of the show alongside Michael Cole.
Tazz departed WWE in 2009, debuting with TNA Wrestling several months later as Samoa Joe’s adviser. He would then replace Don West as the weekly color commentator for Impact Wrestling, a position he maintained until today.
