I saw a post about sleeping not long ago, and was wondering, what's the longest you've gone without sleeping? It's not a fun thing, but I'm 24 and have started within the last few months to develop sleeping problems. I had them a little when I was a teenager but they are worse now. In December I went about 3-5/6 days without sleeping, though not by choice. I had a weird seasonal job and it kept me really keyed up. I say 3-5/6 because three days after my last actual sleep I may have slept at one point, but I'm still not sure if I was completely asleep or not. Four days after my original sleep I definitely didn't sleep, five days later I believe finally slept a little, and six days later I definitely took a nap and slept that night (December 27th leading into December 28th). It sucked. A busy mind is terrible. In good news, I did memorize every World Series winner during this time period.
What's the longest you've gone without sleeping?

32 hours in between junior and senior year. I discovered Freaks And Geeks later in the day and didn't stop till it was finished.

About 40 hours. I was in a super active Skype chat last summer and didn't sleep for almost 2 days. I also watched nonstop Netflix during that time.

When I worked midnights I once got up at 5 pm and went to work that night, stayed up all that day and went back to work that night and then fell asleep at 7:30 am.
So I went like 34 hours or so without sleep. I was really dragging my ass though that second night at work. I so badly wanted to sleep but I kept myself busy and such so I would stay awake. But when I went to bed that morning at 7:30 am, I didn't wake up until 9:30 pm that night.
Before that it was only just the typical all nighter with friends when I was a teenager.

Three and a half (give or take) days. Dad had just been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, so...yeah.

30 Hours. My cousin and I wanted to see how long we could stay up, he made it to about 27 but I had a Survival Battle Royal to win on WWF No Mercy that kept me going.

About two days I believe. These days I try to take sleep aid pills to get a goodnights sleep, though I try not to use them often.

I have no idea honestly. The longest I can remember was back in 2003. I woke up and went to work from 8-6, then when I got off I went home changed clothes and met my buddy and he and I went to a Rodney Carrington show that ended around 11pm. We then drove back and picked up his cousin and drove from Knoxville, TN to Tallahassee, FL over night to watch Miami vs Florida State in a football game. Then when the game was over we drove all the way back from Tallahassee to Knoxville. I woke up Friday Morning to go to work and didnt go to bed until very early Sunday Morning.

Around 34 hours. Woke up around noon a day, later that night (next morning really) I put on some random PPV on the Network intending to fall asleep around 4 AM. Ended up watching it all, another PPV, etc, etc. Made it to around 10 PM the next day where I fell asleep and slept for 10ish hours easily.

Earlier this year I travelled from Manchester in England to Melbourne in Australia without sleeping at all. That included: - Being awake for 2 hours before leaving Manchester. - Being awake for 4 hours travelling to London. - Being awake for 2 hours at Heathrow. - Being awake for 12 hours on plane. - Being awake for 4 hours at stop over. - Being awake for 6 hours on plane. - Being awake for an hour on stop over. - Being awake for 8 hours on plane. - Being awake for 4 hours.
Then I slept for 18 hours.

I'd guess my longest was around 40 hours.
I think a good question would be how often do people stay up 24-72+ hours because for me it is probably like 1 to 2 times a month give or take 1.
