Well I flew to Chicago solely to meet CM Punk at C2E2 this weekend. My friends told me I was crazy but after meeting the guy, I think the trip was worth it and I have zero regrets. First of all, I've seen so many "Punk is a jerk to his fans" posts on the Internet and I was curious to how he would interact with his fans. Well all I have to say is that THE INTERNET IS WRONG. He was nicer than any wrestler I've ever met (and I've met guys like Duggan and Steamboat and those guys are absolute saints). He wasn't rushing anyone. He chatted about things. He discussed the different memorabilia that people brought to his table. Sometimes I feel weary about asking wrestlers for inscriptions with their autograph but Punk was excited to do it. I asked for 1 inscription on a belt and he asked me what else I wanted on everything else. I know people hate on him for "quitting" but he's still the man in my book. Here is my haul from the convention. He signed my Intercontinental belt He signed both sides of my Spinner belt. He put his name and 434 on one end and "best in the world!" on the other: He also signed my custom Money in the Bank briefcase: I snagged an E20 figure for him to sign. He wrote "best in the world" on that one too: And now my favorite piece from the weekend. My SES Ringside exclusive elite. Colt Cabana always calls him the "tattooed mother f*****" so I asked him to write that with his signature. He thought it was an awesome idea: Thanks for checking out my stuff!

Punk is a great guy, met him at a Wizard World Chicago a few years ago and couldn't have been cooler. He would regularly bring 12 or so pizzas in to his panels (which I would imagine he'll do tomorrow at C2E2). Make sure you get their early if you want a piece, usually the first few rows get a slice. He's really only a dick if you totally disrespect him in public. When he does events like these for the fans, he truly is the best in the world. Glad you had a great experience! Wish I could have made it down there this weekend to see him again. It sounds like he'll be making an announcement at the panel about some future work he'll be doing with Marvel, which I'm excited about.
And yes, he is still training for the UFC 4-5 days a week in Milwaukee, sometimes he just drives up in the morning and drives back at night (it's only a little over an hour drive) and if the session runs later he gets a hotel. From everything I've heard his training is going well and he is doing the best he can to adapt. It's hard going from a work to shoot environment and needs to make some of those adjustments. Last I heard end of the year was a reasonable time frame for him to make his debut, although I've heard he really wants it to be sooner.

Those look great with the purple sharpie. Its funny, I was so unenthused with eelite 20 Punk when it was new, now it is my favorite one. In glad to hear that he is cool with his fans.

sounds like the best trip in the world super jealous I'm a huge CM Punk mark I'm a huge wrestling mark as it is but CM Punk brought me back to the product after I'd given up on it because they finally pushed somebody that was worth pushing in the top spot after years of having to endure Cena
