Another unpopular figure opinion is that these are just toys. Adults collect them, yes. But if they were designed for adults and adults only, we wouldn't have to shop the toy stores/sections to buy them. If it was only adults who collected them, they would cost more and would be way harder to find. It's ok to collect toys and to call them toys, that's what they are. Not sure where the hang-up is calling them that.
My nephew loves to play with the basics and elites. He says the ones with the break in the middle bend better and their legs move more. He likes the guys he has never heard of and wants to know more about them. That's what WWE and Mattel both want. They want adults to collect them, kids to play with them, and they want both groups to follow the on-air/archived product. It's about growing the fan-base young so kids today grown up to be like us, fans and collectors.

people who complain that Mattel should change the packing due to theft knows absolutely nothing of the business world
not to mention: it's ALWAYS going to happen; learn to live with it

well after 7 pages, the obvious winner for unpopular opinion is "doesnt matter who they make because even if i dont want that figure someone else mite"
most popular is the opposite, "dont care how many people want that figure, i dont so mattel shouldnt make it"

I'm enjoying this thread way more than I thought I would. I think it would be a little better if people didn't comment on others posts, unless it's in a supportive manner. Trying to convince someone that their opinion is wrong, even factually in some cases, is silly. Just let them vent. - People who want a Bill Goldberg figure, call Bill Goldberg, he's that one keeping anything from getting done. He's made it clear that he doesn't want to have anything to do with WWE, and more recently, any 'wrestling promoter'. Your boy Bill is to blame, so stop putting it on Mattel or WWE to sign him. Will he change his mind at some point like Warrior did? Probably, but not anytime soon. - I don't feel good about this one but....I hope Mattel makes an Undisputed Jericho figure and it's a complete sales failure. I'm just tired of hearing about it for some reason, nothing personal. - Now for all of you who are foolishly offended by the above statement, here's your chance. I think this Candice Michelle would make a great BASIC figure. After the upcoming Lita and the improbable Chyna, it's the only Diva 'Flashback' I really want.

I'm actually curious too see how many pages this thread goes before it gets locked. the unpopular wrestling opinion thread has gone 60+ pages, don't see why this will be any different. I honestly like threads like these and I can handle them, but as you can tell the ship is already starting to sink. The focus isn't so much the figures anymore. Haha

I couldn't care less about an Undisputed Jericho. ECW or WCW for me. Dream Jericho would be pretty much an elite of BOWCW Jericho

Mattel can learn a lot from Jakks including
-How to get better distribution
-How to design better packaging so accessories don't keep getting stolen
-How to make more affordable figures
-How to do a Legends line correctly

I think many collectors look for any excuse to complain.
I think most collectors are spoiler brats who want what they want only. And if it is slightly different they make a thread to pout about it.
DM Hogan is perfect.
Doink may be the best figure done this year. By any company.
For the most part, I like Basics better.
Mattel really needs to get Edge right.
I like the hard jackets.
Looking back I realized I hated collecting Jakks much longer than I was willing to admit to myself. Countless figures I passed on cause they were trash.
I don't like Basic Swagger's giant arms.
I skip through the Fix up thread till I see a pic. Seems some use it to spam.
We need more Steamboat, Piper, Rude, & DiBiase figures in the Legends/HOF lines.

-I don't understand the fascination with cloth clothing for figures at all. Pretty much every item of it at this scale looks bad, often horrendous. And if it was to do with authenticity, people would also demand that the trunks be spandex, the chairs be metal, and the hair be hair. wow! that's actually a great idea! and im serious. i wish wwe figures will be made that way in the future! ziggler is a great example. just imagine you have a rollins elite and you wet his hair before you play with it and his hair becomes dry with the play like in real life, that's genius! and the way ziggler trunks are worn, when he jumps it looks like triangle underwear, but sometimes like a boxer, i like the spandex i dea! metal chairs are also awesome idea imo i wish mattel could make an ASR with metal ring posts. if jakks did it, why cant you? metal steps metal stage wow i can just dream about it. more unpopular opinion i want a mainevent and superstars ringskirts as ringside exclusives. p.s. if the real ringskirts are soft fabric, why the mattel skirts are different material?

I want a "We The People Series." This would be a series where both kids and adults can look up to. It would include figures like:
Isaac Yankem- Promotes good dental hygiene.
TL Hopper- Who doen't need someone to clean their pipes.
Duke the Dumpster Droese.- How bad world our neighborhood be without someone taking the trash.
Big Boss Man re-released- I missed out on the first one. A law and order figure who is not racist, because he had a black manager.

Damn, so being the first response I played it safe so people wouldn't jump my s#!t. You guys are really laying it out there. I can now say this and it not be the worst thing that's been said: Screw Carnage and Venom. Screw people who want an "R" rated Venom movie. And screw Finn Balor's facepaint. Venom and Carnage and their overuse were everything wrong with 90's Marvel garbage. "Hey kids, these aren't your daddy's comics, hell, these aren't your cool uncle that let you sip his beer when you were five's comics! These are the 90's and we're tragically self aware of how f'ing cool and edgy and dark we are! Come stand on the razor's edge!!" I wonder how many people would still jerk off to Finn Balor if he didn't wear those dumb character's likenesses as body paint. Has anyone actually read a comic that those guys are in? Sure, they look cool, but outside of the recent tongue-in-cheek Carnage books, they are stupid and boring characters. Which was the flavor of the day at Marvel. What does that have to do with figures? Sorry, got sidetracked with Venom hate. The point is that I, a man who loves wrestler's debut figures, hopes the day that they make a Finn Balor figure with Venom paint never comes because then I won't have a complete roster because I won't buy him. I hold the unpopular opinion of not wanting anything to do with a figure with that look.

My unpopular opinion is wrestling sucked between 1997-2005 so figures from the era are a waste! Current, late 80s and early-mid 90s only! That's a massively unpopular opinion. I think you win the thread.

I think I'm going to go a little more in depth...
- Ultimate Warrior. There are a lot of die hard Warrior fans on here...that's cool, he's your favorite and I respect that...but 90538485923 threads about how we need this Warrior or that Warrior are as unnecessary as "which figure should I buy" threads. You're a fan, we get it but god damn a lot of Warriors have already been made. Relax...
- It bugs me a little with how long it took for Cena to have socks on his figures. I know that it really isn't a prominent part of his attire or anything, but they are...visible? (not sure of the right word to use) enough to constitute placement on most of his figures.
- I wish we would have more than one 2005-2010 era HBK elite. Other than the DX one, we only have Elite 3. There are tons of awesome designs that could be used for a new HBK...the teardrop pants is one of them.
- On the topic of HBK, his flashback scan looks fantastic...so why does the "current" scan look really plain and generally bad?
- I love all of the new Ambrose figures. I think they are great (even the headscans)
- (I guess this isn't very unpopular but nevermind) 1999-2009 > Most of the 80's or 90's jobbers and midcarders people seem to so desperately want. Let's be honest... Ludvig Borga and Brian B Blair would warm shelves to death. (Hey, so would guys like Lance Storm and Test, but I'm just making a point that some of the more prominent people from the "RA" era would sell better than most of the 80's lesser known characters)
- E33 Cesaro is amazing in every way.
- I am predominantly a Basic collector. However, I do own a few Elites...but I can't stand any Elites of "big guys" (No...not Ryback) Big Show, Mark Henry etc. The ab crunch is completely pointless when it comes to those guys.

The HBK exclusive is not a worthy Exclusive. That thing fits perfectly into the Elite line.
The Ultimate Warrior "Exclusives" are nothing but a waste of money. 1500 on a toy??
The upcoming RSC Exclusive looks like we're 2 in a row for figures that aren't all that.
That basic headscan for Ambrose looks like his face is melting
USA Exclusives are stupid
