They've been remaking sequels to movies from years ago. Like dumb and dumber, Jurassic world and terminator. But how come there's never been a mortal kombat squel since the last one.
I loved that movie, who would want a new one to be made?

I loved the MK movie from 1995 and I would LOVE to see it getting another shot. Cant wait to get Mortal Kombat X and still eagerly play DC vs MK on my 360.
The sequel to the 90s movies was just SO bad.
HUGE MK mark here.....would love tp0o see a big budget version.....or a killer series on Netflix.

I'd LOVE a tv series that was given enough attention to actually be great.
Same for a movie although I'd rather have a tv show since it is longer.

With Mortal Kombat X apparently selling incredibly well, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a movie or a TV series in some fashion pop up.

Glad to see there's some love in here for mortal kombat! Yes the 1995 version was killer. I used to own it on vhs and play it over and over.
A YouTube series? Can some link me to it? I hope that's not illegal to ask?
I remember watching an animated version to of mortal kombat that was pretty good too I think that was more of s short film? Sorry my memory is fuzzy
They also came out with a TV series one season on tnt?

The web series was actually made by Machinima and they did a pretty great job on some of the characters, but not so much on some though. I remember there being a MK show back in the day, but I've actually never seen any of the episodes.

In 2010, we got this. Three years later, we got the news about the new movie's fate. Kevin Tancharoen took to Twitter to announce that he is now longer attached to direct New Line Cinema’s remake of Mortal Kombat, which we exclusively broke the news about way back in Jan. 2010,
“After 3 years of Kombat, I’ve decided to move on to other creative opportunities. I wish everyone involved in the movie big success,” he tweeted. “Thanks!”
Tancharoen directed the incredible short film “Mortal Kombat: Rebirth” as a proof of concept for a Kombat movie he tried to pitch. A huge fan of the video game, he enlisted Oren Uziel to write the short and hired actors such as Michael Jai White and Jeri Ryan. Explained THR, the short was viewed more than 10 million times on YouTube, and although no movie deal materialized, he was asked to direct the 10-episode web series attracting more than 50 million unique visitors. A second season recently premiered on Machinima.-BloodyDisgusting.com ....So, yea. Movie isn't happening. At least not the one we wanted.

Man I love all things MK......I was so excited as a kid to have Hasbro make Street Fighter II AND Mortal Kombat figures from the GI Joe molds.....man it was a fantastic time. LOVED both games for my Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and then I had compatible figs too!!!!

The 1995 movie was awesome. They perfectly cast it as well, hard to see anyone else playing Liu Kang.

The first movie was pretty cool.
I LOVED Mortal Kombat Annihilation... One of the greatest comedies of all time.
MK Legacy had a lot of potential but was total shyt... So yes, I'd definitely be in favor of a show or reboot to the movie series.

I really have no idea what happened in production, but the 2nd season was extremely disappointing.

All I know is that if a new movies does happen and we don't get Jason Statham as Kano... I will be severely disappointed.

The first movie is currently on Netflix (US) for those parties interested.
