So this was brought up in a thread I did recently about Kurt Angle as the SmackDown! GM, and I thought I'd make a thread about it. Those of you who know me will know that Eddie is my all-time favourite, but I found this whole storyline uncomfortable to watch. Here's some refreshers for those of you who have forgotten, or haven't seen it before:
This, whilst it was a very well written storyline, was very uncomfortable for me to watch. Did anyone else feel the same? Do you disagree?
Share your thoughts!
Honestly I felt it was a rubbish storyline that neither man should have been Ok with. It yielded great matches though.

His bedtime story thing was awkward, basically admitted he slept around on vickie
And knowing what i did/do about Rey and Eddie, it was kind of silly

It wasn't well written at all and was absolutely beyond stupid. It was one of the most unbelievable storylines ever done just for the fact that Dominic looked just like his dad. There were far better ways to turn Eddie heel and have him feud with Rey.

This is up there with "Hornswoggle is your son!.... Oh wait no he's not he's Finlays again!" Just plain stupid and cringe worthy to watch. My young self who took kayfabe as the absolute bible at the time knew it was BS. I believe they had a ladder match which I enjoyed during this feud.. even if the purpose was stupid.

No it did not.
This is Eddie and Rey we are talking about, they would have worked any angle together as long as there were both ok with it. So that makes me ok with it.
I wouldn't doubt one bit that Dominic adores the chance he had to work with his father and Eddie before he passed.
Now Eddie's mother suffering a Heart Attack thanks to JBL....THAT is a little too far.

It was dumb. With the talent those two had, there was no reason to saddle it with a such a stupid storyline.

Eddie should never have turned heel again anyway.

Best thing to come out of this feud was the Summerslam ladder match.

Eddie should never have turned heel again anyway. It's easy for us to say that now because we know he didn't have long left at that point, and deserved to soak up the adulation of the fans during his final year in WWE. But, in context, Eddie was as good a heel as he was a face, and he kept himself interesting by switching it up. Would we be saying that if he were still alive today aged 47 and almost certainly long since retired from in-ring competition? Would it even be a stand-out time in his career? Personally, I enjoyed the feud and didn't mind Eddie using some of his final precious months as a great heel.

I don't think it went too far...
I just think it was dumb.

Eddie should never have turned heel again anyway. I LOVED that heel run personally and you could tell Eddie was enjoying it. It was the best heel run he had IMO...plus he was back to being a face before he passed anyway.

I don't think it was a matter of going too far... it was a matter of going too stupid. These two always put on great matches, but Eddie could have just hated Rey for trying to take his spotlight and his place at the top or something.

It was a ridiculous storyline that I am amazed they went through with, surely Dominic was at school at the age he was when this happened so who knows what teasing was going on to him by the other kids.
And none of their matches were ever much to write home about in my opinion, wasn't a huge fan of the entire rivalry overall as a matter of fact.

What I will always remember from this feud was during the ladder match. "Where the was Vickie!?"

BEST ING THEME HE EVER HAD! Still waiting on a full length release of that song. Don't hold your breath. I would kill for either version to be released fully. The Gangsta Lane version was just as good as the original heel version.

While the storyline became a little whacky, it was some of Eddie's best promo work.
