2002, to me, is like a beefier version of today's product. It had more established stars, but the crop of "next generation" was undeniably strong, much like where we're at right now. It was also a bit of a transitional period - coming out of the attitude era/the invasion, and trying to really find roots in that Ruthless Aggression moniker, again, similar to where we're currently at.
I hope, at some point, today's product can be as strong as it was in '02. That was a fun year for me as a fan. I never really paid much attention to WCW, so getting acclimated with their stars that jumped over and were now in a true WWE environment was a lot of fun. The brand split/draft was a big deal too.
And, of course, the transition to WWE.

Highlight of 2002 for me, is this quote:
"EVERYBODY KNOWS...WANTS TO KNOW, WHERE I'VE BEEN AND WHAT I'M CAPABLE OF!"

2002 was fantastic! So many great matches, I can't even decide what my favorite is. Probably the Taker/Angle/Rock triple threat, any of the Edge/Angle matches or Rock/Lesnar at SummerSlam.
