So this evening I had what I would call a "vision". It woke me up shaking, and out of breath, it was so vivid.
I described it on Facebook as such:
A lot of people talk about seeing their dead loved ones in dreams, etc, after they've passed. But honestly? I don't think I've ever seen my mother. Certainly not heard her speak. In fact, I can't even really remember her voice, anymore. But I just had a dream -- a vision -- that was so clear, and immensely vivid, that I woke up shaking and out of breath. And I even know what it means. A multitude of tornadoes, and storms, were barreling down on us from various directions, and we're having to stock up various things, and do various things to prepare, that when the storms finally hit, my dad's standing in the doorway watching, and my mom's sitting outside in a chair, just watching. I'm screaming at her, begging her to come inside and all she says is, "I'm fine, help everyone else."
So I go inside, and my dad tells me to start using bricks to block the door, but there's not enough bricks. No matter how much stacking I do, there's just not enough bricks, and right before the tornadoes it, they dissipate, my mother's gone, and someone in the dream notes that "Lucky, but looks like rain further out."
The dead don't have our problems. They're dead. But that also doesn't mean we're left alone to face them, either. They get to sit there, while we work to hold down the fort, because their work is done. But just because they can't help with the work, doesn't mean they can't help you get through doing it. In this vision, I stole, I lied, and broke multiple laws to get what our family, and whoever else was with us, what they would need to survive through the worst. I did everything necessary not only to help myself, but anyone I could help.
The bricks? Well -- sometimes even the hardest work comes up a bit short. You can move, and lay, and entire wall's worth of bricks, and someone or something, is always going to try and break it down. There are never enough bricks.
But the key? And the one I woke up from? Even the worst storm has to dissipate at some point. All you have to do is live, survive, and be happy in the moment. The storm may get close enough to put you at risk, but so long as you do what is necessary -- it can always be weathered. However, as with the rain we saw in the vision -- never forget, there will always be another rough time waiting on the horizon. It's just the ebb and flow of life.
Thanks for the refresher, mom. It was good seeing you.
...So what about anyone else? Ever been going through some things in life and just sort of had this moment of clarity type of deal?

I've had dreams and things I have remembered in detail the next morning but never anything like this.
Were you thinking about your mother before this happened? Maybe your brain just continued with the thought process once you slept?

Nothing as dramatic as this, but I remembered the name of a song I was wondering about all day in a dream lol.
As for things happening in dreams themselves, I've had just about ever pet and person I know die in dreams. I've even woke up crying. One time I dreamt dying and I'm still convinced how I felt then is how il feel when I die.

Maybe your brain just continued with the thought process once you slept? Nah, not really. Just going through a lot in life, right now. Truthfully, when people die, I'm usually pretty alright with it. So I don't think about them regularly. Which is why I took it as her just telling me, in whatever pseudo-paranormal way makes sense, that everything will be alright. There was no sadness, or worry in her voice. No warnings. Just a smile, even in the face of danger. It was actually quite calming. As out of breath and shocked as I woke up, I actually feel immensely better, and relieved.

I've had some weird dreams every once in a while, I actually dreamed about my ex when I was dating her and her leaving with another guy well turns she actually did ended up cheating on me. I also dreamed about an airplane crashing down and the next few days the Malaysia plane crashes. Also it's really true what they say in the movie "Insidious" about when you fall in dreams you wake up, because I've woken up plenty of times from it. And for some reason I can never run in my dreams and every time I run, I run in slow motion and my vision becomes very blurry making it much more difficult.

I've had direct messages in dreams.
I was in a car crash where I was the only person to have walked away. A few nights before that I dreamed that I was in that car and that it was flying, a giant angel was carrying the car. In my dream the Angel let go of the car and as I was falling the angel scooped me up and put me down safely.
Years ago I dreamed that I was talking to my grandfather, who has been dead for quite some time now. I dont remember much of what we talked about but towards the end of the dream I noticed he had a basket. I asked him what was in the basket, and he picked up a little baby wrapped in a white blanket. My grandfather told me it was my son. I tried to look at my son but the blanket was in the way. My grandfather told me he would keep my baby company until we were ready for him. My wife and I tried for more than 5 years to conceive a child before it finally happened. And it was a boy.
Recently I've had a few more of these Dreams where I see messages or am told things. I dont talk about them because I wait to see if they will come true.

I had one where I saw my grandfather going up an escalator up in the sky. The next morning we got a call saying he died. I told my dad about the dream and he said he had the exact same one.
I often go to meditation to look for answers about who I am, and how I fit in this world. I had one experience while meditating where I was talking with our higher being and I asked him who I was and his response was " you are everybody, and everybody is you." When I opened my eyes it was like I saw the world differently. I still use this in my everyday life. I cannot judge someone for something, because I don't know the reasons they have gotten to where they are, and how easily it could be me in that situation.

Years ago my grandmother passed away. About one week later I had a dream that she was talking to me. She said, "Don't worry, I'm okay". I also felt that calmness after that. I wasn't even really worried or upset about anything but I felt very calm. Right after it happened I woke up and I looked at my clock, something I always do when I wake up, it was 2:31am.
The next morning I could see that my mom was upset about something. I asked her what was wrong and she said she was upset about her mom. She said she had a dream and it was exactly like mine. I asked her if she happened to notice the time after she woke up and she said it was exactly 2:32am.
I might have the times mixed now being so long ago. But that exact same thing happening to both of us just minutes apart has always seemed like it couldn't have just been a coincidence.
That actually got me into paranormal investigating for awhile. Something I did for about 5 years. Just looking for answers.

I grew up Catholic and I made what's called a confirmation which takes place in a church and the night before I had a dream where my grandad wished me luck and just talked to me outside the church, some may call it a coincidence but I do feel like it was accurate and represented exactly what it would have been like if he was there.

I've spent many years studying the paranormal and messages from the dead. I've seen and felt spirits. While I can't really say how I know for certain, I can tell you that your dream was truly your Mother (or her spirit - which ever you want to call it) just trying to put your mind at ease with all that's going on in your life. Loved ones who have departed from this earth are never really gone completely. Most dreams are nothing more than your subconscious trying to work something out or experience something you're missing or desire. However, sometimes, dreams can have very powerful meanings and contain very important messages from loved ones who have moved on to another life. These messages often come at times we need them most. Sometimes they can be profound and life changing. Other times they're just a little reminder of something you need to know or remember. The dead don't speak all that often (at least not in a manner that we can easily hear them), but when they do, it's usually something important, so you should listen.

This is a true story that still freaks me out this very day:
My maternal grandfather died when my mother was 5 or 6 years old from a heart attack. For whatever reason that still hasn't been explained to me, my mother had no picture of him. She always spoke fondly and lovingly about him - my whole family did - but they had no pictures of him so I never knew what he looked like.
Years ago, I had a very vivd dream that my grandfather's picture was mailed to our home. The picture was black and white and was a closeup shot of his face; he had a striking resemblance to my uncle and had my mother's eyes.
A few years after this vivid dream, my mom went to the mailbox and her half-sister sent her a letter. Inside the letter was a black and white picture of my grandfather that featured a closeup of his face. It was nearly identical to the picture I had dreamed all the years ago.

I've never had any dreams that ended up being warning signs or anything that freaked me out.
But I can also control my dreams now, so that might have something to do with it. I have mastered lucid dreaming, and I am able to identify when I am in a dream and then I can begin to control it, rather than have the dream dictate what happens. It's pretty cool.

Sometimes in my dreams I'll just continue to run even though my I'm blind in my dreams just for the heck of it. Also I've had this happen to me twice in my entire life, where I'm in bed and blink my eyes once and next thing I know it's already morning. It's was really bizarre for me, because I wasn't tired of anything, maybe I got abducted by aliens or something idk.
