I have no idea why but Steiner has become one of my favorite wrestlers..ever. The guy was just so good. And hell, he was still really good up until around 2007ish before the injuries piled up.
I saw this recently:
and I got more respect for him. I've listened to a lot of stories about him, and I don't think he's nearly as bad as people make him out to be in terms of attitude. I do think he's extremely insecure about himself, due to the tattoos covering up his body to hide scars and or old age.
Regardless, I still find Scott entertaining, but I wish he'd just cut back on things. He said himself that he can't do half his moves because of all his injuries.
Still, I digress, Steiner is a dude I've really come to respect and sorta look up to (because of his body). He's either really believable as a badass or hilarious on the mic. This is one of the best promos I think I've ever seen too:
The fact that he was able to transition from athletic tag team guy to the Big Poppa Pump character and consistently be a highlight of WCW 2000 (which I've been watching) is incredible. Apparently, according to an old podcast I heard from 2000, he was helping their ratings at the time too.
I know some of you here have expressed you think he's legitimately insane, but I disagree. I think he's totally self aware and knows how to work people either via social media or in real life. The lines of character and the real Scott are so blurred no one knows who he really is and I find that fascinating.
Anyways, add to it.
(Goldberg might be next)
You don't have to agree, but I'd like to hear some thoughts.

Scott Steiner at one time could have been described the greatest wrestler walking the planet. This move absolutely blow my mind.
However his style shift saw a huge decline in his quality of work, and his awful personality greatly hinders my opinion of him.

I've always held a special place in my heart for Scotty. He and his brother were on par with LoD in terms of killing jobbers. Also one of my few but favorite things to come out of the last days of WcW was when he wanted to kick everyone's ass for calling the Frankensteiner the hurricanrana.
One of the best videos on YouTube is the 2 hours of Scott Steiner stories video.
His promos were gold.

I was talking with KvE about that and he made some good points that if you enjoy someone's work, you shouldn't let outside stuff hinder that. And you have to remember how much he was/has been injured. It sucks, but that's the part of the game I guess. I recommend this: Not everyone likes him, but he seems to be a pretty good dude according to most of these people, especially Rey. Also, according to DDP him and Scott are good friends now.

I dunno I just find it hard liking someone who is such a scumbag. He's in the same boat as Dynamite Kid to me.

Although Steiner is a major A-hole when you meet him in person, I still highly respect his work. Excuse the explicit language, but this was at WrestleCade a show that I was at last year. Needless to say, not a good look for Steiner and I have a hard time removing this image from my mind. Never thought he would stoop this low.

At one point in time he was a great wrestler. But but by the time he became Big Poppa Pump his best days were already behind him. He got so huge that he got blown up pretty quick, and it impacted his agility and ability to move around. To me he became sloppy. I didn't like his promo work very much. Sure sometimes some of his insane rambling would make me laugh. But he constantly flubbed lines and stumbled over words. And he always talked about the same thing over and over and over. The Steiners might make my top 10 tag teams, but I don't think Scott would make my top 50. Or 100. It's not really one thing about him that puts me off. It's the combination of everything.

Always been a Steiner fan. Whether as a team with his bro or as BBP he's always been entertaining. People seem to let his WWE run cloud there judgement of him but even when he first became BBP he was still solid I'm the ring. It wasn't until 2000 that his size seriously began to hinder him. And Scotty could match anyone on the mic if allowed to do his own thing.

Steiner is my favorite wrestler in TNA history, just based off of his grand humor and he has always been a physical freak that has helped get him over... shame he was injured during the key beginning of his WWE career because it made him look like such sh*t.

Man, the Steiner Brothers as a team are my all time favorite tag team. Scott solo in WCW as BPP was awesome for a while, was pretty turned off to him at the end of WCW in the Russo era though. Seriously though, if you haven't seen his FreakShow Workout DVD on YouTube, check that out. That to me shows how far gone he is mentally and the whole gimmick was hilarious at that point.

At one time I thought Scott was going to be the next break out star in wrestling. He had a great look, great move set, and could go in the ring with the best of em. Then he got way too big, got a bad attitude, & he became immobilized. It saddens me to think of the lost potential.

I was never a big fan. I had high hopes for him when he came to WWE in 2002 but it was a flop. He seems very "off" to me. In regard to his body, it's a mess. His chest has developed some kind of atrophy and I'm still not convinced that his arms aren't implants. His promos borderline on Sid levels of bad. Especially the one he cut about "Stacy Keibler's juices". Edit: Here. Everyone should watch this... botchamania.com/scott-steiner-at-badd-blood-2003/

I like Steiner, I think he's always been a bit underrated. The bloke is a legit psychopath though.

at one point, I legit thought Steiner was the future of Wrestling, a future multi-time World Champion. he had the looks, he had the physique, and he had the skills to go with anyone.
then came Big Poppa Pump and a daily diet of steroids and human growth hormones washed down with creatine by the glassful. as his promo work got more out of control - yet somehow more amazing - his skills got worse. that said, he was a credible threat as WCW World Champion, and you fully believed he could beat the piss out of everyone and everything in his path ( though I still maintain the Steiner Recliner is a ludicrous looking move. it's basically the Accolade if you stood up while doing it). the problem for Steiner was too little, too late. he was Champion of a dying company. a WCW with Steiner as Chmp definitely would have been more entertaining, and perhaps a better competitor to the WWF.

Steiner was amazing in 2000-2001 WCW. He really fit that main event heel role perfectly. A shame he never really got a chance in WWE after No Way Out.
