Or my neon green elite surfer Sting i wouldn't put all ur eggs in one basket. I did that w/ the Royal Rumble 1991 Ultimate Warrior. Thats my most wanted Warrior elite...and they wasted the attire on a basic. at this point...im just happy that Surfer Sting isn't wearing black tights. Because i did a moveset for him in the 2k15 videogame. So I ended up watching like 50 of his matches on the network from the 80s to 90's. Sting actually wore black more than any other color. I agree with the USA Warrior. Im in the middle of turning him into an Elite now. Need to spray the boots/tassels with 1 more coat. Ive got tight decals coming for him. Sting did wear a lot of black with different color boots. His Havoc 89 attire with black tights, yellow boots and rainbow scorpion would be a sweet ass figure.

we're getting more and more legends every year. At least 32 this year.
if this keeps up till the Mattel contract ends.....MDT Bill has to figure out at least 144 more legends figures over the next 4 1/2 years.
thinking up 144 legends figures that i want...and that Mattel has contracts to do, not easy.
So i imagine every stupid repaint we want is going to happen. We're gonna get another scott hall...we're gonna get a Razor Ramon basic...we'll probably get another Razor elite in green in a couple years

Some of you all are doing way too much with this figure. You all know we're getting more Hall's. Chill out. You don't have to buy it. Most of you will swap the head once a new head appears on a basic in a few months.

Dear Ringside, First and foremost, I am beyond ecstatic that you guys decided to go with Scott Hall as your 3rd exclusive for 2015. Big pat on the back for that. You guys certainly know what your customers want. But the reason I made this thread is to hopefully get a better understanding on the aesthetic decisions behind this figure. Hopefully you guys are at liberty to answer some or all questions. 1. What made you go with the black/white attire as opposed to the, in my humble opinion (and it seems the opinions of most others around here as well), more iconic black/red "outsiders" attire? 2. Was the decision to switch the larger knee pads something that you guys made? Or was it handed down that way by Mattel? 3. Did you guys play any role in the decision for the headscan? Or did you guys specifically request the DM Razor ( assuming there weren't any other options)? I am certainly very happy and appreciative of the selection of Scott Hall, but please also understand, that myself (and again, it seems like a lot of other people as well) am a little disappointed with the black/white and the large knee pads. I am sure it's too late to change these things since it seems that figure is almost ready to go considering the packaging is all done. But I guess I just wanted to let you guys know how I and a few others feel about it. Please keep this thread positive. And thanks for all of the SDCC2015 coverage! Keep up the good work! As I think one poster mentioned, many are forgetting this Scott Hall is an RSC Exclusive. When there have been discussions on this board about Wolfpac Sting, many posters suggested it be an RSC edition that way only those die hards and collectors who want a Wolfpac Sting could get it. The logic behind it was that it might not appeal to the mass population, but would appeal to collectors. I think the same principle applies here. This attire might not be what the masses wanted, but it does appeal to the WCW/nWo completionists. Also, as I mentioned in the pre-order thread, when Jakks did its limited Deluxe Classic Figure version of Hall, it was done in this very attire. It may be that Scott Hall wanted this attire made as a condition under the Legends Contract. If memory serves me right, the Ultimate Warrior placed conditions in his contract. It would not be far fetched to see other superstars make certain conditions too. That may also explain why the first two Elite Stings are being made into Defining Moments. Again, all speculation on my part. I for one LOVE this look. I'm glad its a WCW version instead of a WWE nWo version

Chill out. ...we don't know for sure though - given how he was a no-go area for years, plus Scott's ongoing battles... I just wanted Mattel to make an Elite purple Razor (check) and an Elite Red and Black Hall (to go with Nash) - then they could do what they like/make other attires.

Yep, Im still waiting for a 90s Piper and it appears Ill be waiting for awhile...and he's almost ALWAYS been on good terms & sober.

I think the only Hall I really wish they would make that would be good for an RSC exclusive is the denim vest and jeans he wore the night he came out on Nitro to start the nWo angle.

Maybe, just maybe, they used the white/black for a more obscure RSC exclusive and the more known/recognised will be released in stores worldwide? It would make more sense. I'm sure we'll get the red Hall.

maybe the red/black is more iconic.....but Hall wore the black/white just as much. Toy Biz & Jakks both made the black/white version.
WWE2k14 had the black/white Hall as DLC. I was always the black/white version when i would pick Scott Hall in the n64 WCW games.

I'm totally ok with this exclusive being the black and white, because I fully expect a nWo 3 pack in the HoF series, and we'll get him in red then with a matching Nash and another Hollywood attire.
But please Bill, if there's still time you gotta change those knee pads back to the mediums, just like Razor's.

...something else I noticed about the RSC figure is that he has two "dripping white" elbow pads - I always thought Scott only wore one (on his left) and a longer/plain black pad on his right?

I'm sure we'll get the red Hall. That's what I was thinking/hoping. I love this figure and this was my most wanted attire of his but I would love a red and black Scott Hall. Also, I hope we get another Razor in his black trunks.

I'm sure we'll get the red Hall. It would make sense. But Scott Hall is in such a precarious position with his substance abuse, you never know if he'll suddenly fall out of favor with WWE/Mattel. Hopefully we can get a red/black Scott Hall as soon as possible to match the Kevin Nash that's already been released. And, like someone else mentioned, a WMX or green Razor Ramon would be an instant buy from me.

The attire is fine for me. If i had a choice it would be this attire. The thing that bugs me is the reused head scan. Thats it though.

The figure looks fine for a standard release, but I don't understand why Hall doesn't have a new head mold. What about this figure is really breaking the bank? I get HBK having that really nice and detailed new vest w/ new head mold. Even Hogan had a new one. Hall's in black with a one-color deco...not counting the chest hair. Everything he comes with is from a previously made mold. No title belts eating up budget, either.
They weren't kidding about the Mattel higher-ups tightening the budget every year.
But I hope we get a red one in the main Elite line. I really hope they're not going with white just because the red resembles blood. I see that **** in kid's cartoons for Halloween shows.
