Just got back from seeing Logan. I liked it for what it was. I don't think it should be considered a better movie than The Wolverine was, honestly.. The 96% on Rotten Tomatoes right now has me a little confused but I'm assuming this is from people rating it based on Hugh Jackman wrapping up this iconic character arc more so than the movie being Oscar worthy. X-23 was fantastic.. Dunno where they found this girl but she nailed the role.. There were many times where it didn't feel like a Wolverine/X-Men movie and that was bothersome. But like I said I liked it for what it was, the 3rd film in the Wolverine trilogy and it serviced as a perfect send off for Hugh. Now that you have seen it chief.... am I right in assuming this takes place in the far flung future of the McEvoy timeline? Considering X-23 and the Apocalypse post credit scene? One things for sure the movie packed an emotional punch for me. Man it felt they were ignoring literally everything that happened outside of X1 and X2.. I would go as far as saying this movie took place in a completely separate timeline all together.. We had X-Men comic books and action figures. It was actually very strange. I thought it was extremely grounded in reality and implied throughout the film that everything outside of the first 2 movies was complete fiction/myth. But that's just me.. I definitely had it wrong when we talked about it some months back.

Just watched Logan last night and thought it was awesome. I can say it does not feel like a superhero movie at all, it was more storytelling and action based. And all the action was very brutal violent man. So far Fox is 2-0 with Rated R Marvel films, they should definitely keep this up when necessary.

Just got back from seeing Logan. I liked it, but there were a few things I didn't love. But overall I enjoyed it and it was easily the best Wolverine movie... by a lot.

With Fox I've given up on trying to piece together the movies in one or two timelines. I think this is the best of the Wolverine movies. The Wolverine was good, but I thought this had a better story, acting, and action scenes. The girl who played X23 put it over the top for me and Hugh seemed to be putting out his best after a terrible first solo movie and a mixed second one. He went out on a great note. I still prefer DOFP to this, but this was none the less one of the better Xmen films to me.

If anybody needs a pick-me-up... BAHAHAHAHAHA! That was fantastic. I am (as always) impressed (again) with just how on the ball their humor is.

Loved how Stan Lee got a cameo in that too! I don't remember Stan Lee's part being in the one I saw Friday before Logan.. Can anyone confirm that he was?

Yeah the version I saw did not have Stan Lee. I keep thinking about Logan. And to be honest there's only one thing I didn't care for... X-24. It came across a lil like Terminator for my liking.

So how do you guys watch the X-Men saga?
X-Men Origins: Wolverine First Class
And then do you watch X-Men Apocalypse? But you wouldn't be able fully understand Apocalypse without Days of Future Past.. And you can't understand DoFP without watching X-Men, X2, X3.. And DoFP has a teaser at the end of The Wolverine.. So where do you go from here?
What is the essential viewing order?
Maybe
Origins First Class X1 X2 X3 The Wolverine Days of Future Past Apocalypse? Logan
Apocalypse REALLY screwed up everything that DoFP fixed.. Logan as a solo film still keeps DoFP in tact and fits the narrative.. Apocalypse really confuses me.

Wolverine Origins First Class X1 X2 X3 The Wolverine DOFP Apocalypse Logan I'm with yah that Apocalypse messed up what they fixed. But I try to follow them as above as to me it makes the most sense considering we have two timelines now. It still also bugs me that they never addressed why Wolverine has his metal claws in DOFP when he lost em in The Wolverine.

I thought they made a passing reference that magneto gave them back to him. Am I imagining that?

Part of me almost thinks you're better off just watching them as three separate trilogies since they tie together in such a crapty way.

Best way to watch the xmen movies, is to not watch the xmen movies.

the last time I had a marathon was with my God son just before the release of X-Men: Apocalypse. This is how I watched them....
First Class XMO: Wolverine X-trilogy The Wolverine DOFP(Rogue Cut)
If I'm honest? It was an enjoyable romp. Watching XMO as part of something makes it better....I will do the same again when Logan is released and I will just tack Apocalypse then Logan onto the end of the above order.

I rewatch X-Men Apocalypse.. And I'm not going to lie.. 11 year old me would have went batcrap crazy over this movie.. It has everything I ever wanted out of an X-Men film, character wise.. I just wish it had been a better all around film.. A more fleshed out story.. . I still think with a few minor tweaks, Apocalypse could have been ultra bad ass.. I still think he looks good, he just needed to be a little larger and they should have toyed with the voice more.

a Few minor tweaks would have made it great IMO. There are some decisions in here I just don't understand after DOFP. same director too.....if there had been a change in director it would be less.....infuriating.
